INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the MiDiPLus FIT controller, an intuitive control surface designed to function as a fully integrated fader bank for the Waves eMotion LVl digital mixing console.
MiDiPLus FIT features 16 + 1 touch-sensitive motorized faders, 16 + 1 clickable rotary encoders, and tons of control buttons, it’s the perfect match for Waves eMotion LV1. You can also use FIT as a universal control surface by using its HUl and Mackie Control emulation, let you get fully control on your mixing session.

SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS

Please read the following precautions carefully before use to avoid damaging the equipment or causing personal injury. Precautions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Read and understand all the illustrations.
  2. Always follow the instructions on the device.
  3. Before cleaning the device, always remove the power and the USB cable. When cleaning, use a soft and dry cloth. Do not use gasoline, alcohol, acetone, turpentine or any other organic solutions: do not use a liquid cleaner, spray or cloth that’s too wet.
  4. Make sure to turn off and disconnect the power if not used for extended periods.
  5. Do not use the device near water or moisture, such as a bathtub, sink, swimming pool or similar place.
  6. Do not place the device in an unstable position where it might accidentally fall over.
  7. Do not place heavy objects on the device.
  8. Do not place the device near a heat vent at any location with poor air circulation.
  9. Do not open or insert anything into the device that may cause a fire or electrical shock.
  10. Do not spill any kind of liquid onto the device.
  11. Do not use the device with thunder and lightning present; otherwise, it may cause long-distance electrical shock.
  12. Do not expose the device to hot sunlight.
  13. Do not use the device when there is a gas leak nearby.

READY TO USE

MiDiPLus FIT is a class-compliant USB device in both macos® and Windows®. When connect your FIT to a free USB port on your computer and turn on the unit, its drivers are automatically installed.WAVES-MIDIPLUS-FIT-Mixing-Control-

CHANGING THE MODE

MiDiPLuS FIT has 3 different modes of operation, the default mode of operation is the Waves eMotion LV1 mode, if you are using another DAW application, you will need to change the mode of operation to Mackie

Control or HUl mode:

  1. Hold down the Channel Select 2 button while turning on the FIT to select Mackie Control mode, you can use this mode for Logic, Live, Cubase, and Sonar.
  2. Hold down the Channel Select 3 button while turning on the FIT to select HUl mode, you can use this mode for Pro Tools.
  3. If you want to select Waves eMotion LV1 mode, hold down the Channel Select 1 button while turning on the FIT. Once you select a mode, FIT will automatically boot into the selected mode each time it is powered up.

FRONT PANEL

The functions of the knobs and buttons on the FIT will vary depending on which software application is being utilized, the labels for the buttons and controls are specific to Waves eMotion Lv1.WAVES-MIDIPLUS-FIT-Mixing-

  1. Touch-sensitive motorized faders: Control the channel’s level
  2. Mute: Turn off the corresponding channel’s output signal.
  3. Solo: Activates CUE or Solo depending on LV1 mode.
  4. Encoders: These clickable encoders click to switch, rotary to control parameters
  5. Scribble strip: Displays channel and plug-in information
  6. Select buttons: Select the corresponding channel to adjust
  7. User button: Press to select the user-assigned keys
  8. Tap tempo pad: Setting the tempo by repeatedly tapping the pad
  9. Layers select buttons: Select the channel layer
  10. Utility buttons: Access to the most frequently use functions of your session

  1. USB LED Port: Supply DC 5V/0.5A output for USB LED light
  2. Power Switch: Power the unit on or off
  3. Power Connector: Connect to the power supply provided by MIDIPLUS (12V DC, 2A)
  4. USB Port: Connect to your computer to control your Wave eMotion LV1 or DAW.
  5. Cable Tie: Wind the power supply’s cable through one or both hooks to fix the cable.

RACK MOUNTING

Before rack mounting, you must replace the 2 side panels with the included Rack mounting side panels, then use an equipment rack that is 19 inches wide (482.6 mm) and rated for the total weight of your equipment. Use a minimum of (4) 10/32 threaded screws per rack-mounted device.

CONFIGURE IN WAVES EMOTION LV1

After connecting FIT to the computer, launch LV1, select the SETUP tab, on the right column labeled ‘CONTROL’ select Add Device, and choose MIDIPLUS FIT. Press the Gear control to open the control panel, and choose FIT in the input and output ports. Select mapping options for customization.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: No power.

  1. Make sure the AC outlet is alive, you can plug in a lamp to check it.
  2. Is the power supply connected to FIT correctly?
  3. Verify that the power switch is turned on.

Problem: Can’t see the device in my DAW application.

  1. Make sure the USB cable is connected and the power is turned on.
  2. Quit the DAW application and then restart it.

Problem: Can’t control Waves eMotion LV1.

  1. Make sure the USB cable is connected and the power is turned on.
  2. Verify that the FIT is in the LV1 mode. Please see the previous chapter “Changing the Mode” for details.
  3. Make sure you have configured your LV1 as the previous chapter “Configure in Waves eMotion LV1”.
