- If you do not plan to use the detector for a week or more, remove the batteries.
- Dispose of the old batteries promptly and properly according to state and Federal Guidelines.
- Replace the batteries when “LOW BATT” displays on the LCD.
USING HEADPHONE
Connecting stereo headphones to the detector allows for private listening,
saves battery power, and makes it easier to identify subtle changes in the
sounds you hear for improved detection results.
To connect headphones to the detector, insert the plug into the headphone jack
on the side of the controller. The detector’s internal speaker disconnects
when headphones are connected.
LISTENING SAFELY
- Avoid listening at extremely high volume levels, as extended high-volume listening can resultin permanent hearing loss.
- Do not wear headphones while operating your detector near high-traffic areas. For safety, always be aware of your surroundings.

How to turn On/Off the detector?
Press button to turn on the detector, Press again to turn off the detector.
What does the SETTINGS button mean?
Pressing to select “SENS/VOLUME/DISC/NOTCH” 4 options, when you want to select one of the modes, just press , the black frame will jumps to the desired mode.
-
Select SENS mode:When you want to adjust sensitive, press the and the LCD black frame will displays the SENS mode. Press to increase or decrease sensitivity levels. Note:
(1) The SENS totally has 10 levels;
(2) When SENS mode appears on the LCD, the detector defaults to ALL-METAL mode, it can detect 9 kinds of different metals;
(3) The higher the number, the faster the sensitivity or response time. -
Select VOLUME:1. Press to choose VOLUME mode;
2. Press or to increase decrease the sound volume. The higher the number, the higher the decibel level. -
Select DISC mode: (Eliminate the unwanted metal targets in order from programmed low-value metals to high-value metals.)1. Press to choose DISC mode. Then choose the unwanted target as follows;
2. Press : iron/foil lid/nickel/alum/zinc are selected and ignored. The detector will not respond to these objects;
3. Press : iron/foil cover/5 cents/alum/zinc is selected and not ignored. At this time, the detector will respond to these objects.
For example:
When you only want to choose ZINC in gold metal, press to eliminate the other
metal. In other words, the ZINC will stay LCD display.
Note:
- The DISC mode eliminate unwanted metal targets from the top to the bottom, and only retains the targets modes you want to detect, without the possibility of selecting the desired detection targets in the middle (This is different from NOTCH mode).
- Four modes(ALL OF METAL/DISC/NOTCH/PINPOINT), the SILVER target (DIME/QTR/50 CENT/1$) cannot be selected or eliminated individually.
Select NOTCH mode: (Select the metal targets you want to ignore the rest, not in the order of the program.)
Press to choose NOTCH mode;
Press : lron/foil lid/nickel/alum/zinc icons flash. Press again, which means
iron/foil lid/nickel/alum/zinc will be ignored. The detector will not respond
to these objects.
For example:
When you do not want to choose ZINC in gold metal, press to choose the ZINC
target. When you select any of the target, it will blink until it disappears,
which means that the target is excluded.
Note:
- The NOTCH mode can choose any one of the unwanted or only one of the target. (This is different from DISC mode)
- When one of the target is selected, it will blink for about 5 seconds until it disappears, during the blinking period you can press + or – to interrupt the selection you have target before, and only after it disappears will the target be excluded.
Select Pinpoint mode:(To help you locate the target mental more accurately.)
- Long pressing button to use pinpoint mode;
- As you get closer to the target object, the COIN DEPTH numerical value level will increase, and the alarm sound will become louder, making it easier to locate the target object.
Note:
- Please long pressing pp button, if you release the pp button, the system will automatically revert to the previously set mode.
- The PP mode setting serves to accurately explore the depth of the gold, Please try the other modes first to determine the extent of the gold, and then use the PP mode to determine the precise location and depth of the gold.
- When the gold is accurately detected, the detect will emit 2 different sounds (This sound is different from the sound emitted by any of the other modes). Sound A is a constant alarm, which means that the detected metal gold is already inside the black coil; Sound B is a short and fast, likes “di,di…”, which means that the detected metal gold is already in the first 1/3 of the head of the black coil. That is ready to start digging for gold!
- The total depth of the detect is 10 inches, each cell is about 3.3 inches, the more cells, the deeper the depth.
- The depth is an approximate range because it will be affected by the environment, such as sand, soil, humidity, temperature, etc.
How to open turn on/turn off the backlight?
Press and hold the for a little longer about 2s to switch the backlight on or
off.
W hat is the number on the LCD screen display mean?
Detected targets are displayed in segments of numbers and symbols.
TESTING SAMPLE
- Place a sample of the material you want the detector to find (such as a gold ring or a coin) on the ground.
- Hold the search coil level to the ground about 1-2 inches above the surface. Slowly move the search coil over the area where you placed the sample, sweeping the search coil in a side-to-side motion in an arc line of 7cm.
When the detector detects a ferrous target, it emits a low tone and displays a number and target category. When it finds a non-ferrous target, it emits a mid or high pitch and displays the DIME/QTR/50 CENT number and target category.
SEARCH COIL SWEEPING HINTS
Never sweep the search coil as if it were a pendulum. Raising the search coil while sweeping or at the end of a sweep will cause false readings.
Sweep slowly; hurrying will cause you to miss targets. It’s better to sweep the search coil from side to side in an arc line of 3 inches motion and keep the search coil parallel to the ground.
FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE DETECTING
Accurate detection can be difficult and requires practice for improved
results. Sometimes, detection may be restricted by certain factors.
If there is interference from other instruments, electrical cables, TVs, or
radios in your search area, lower the sensitivity or change the current search
area.
When searching in highly mineralized areas, the unit may sound even if there’s
no metal. In this case, lower the sensitivity and increase the distance
between the search coil and the ground until the false signal disappears.
