Gideon-E605-Electric-Mouse-Trap \(1\)

  • Manual Button : This is likely a button used to set or reset the trap manually.
  • Metal Conductor Board : This part probably acts as the electrified element that delivers a shock to the mouse entering the trap.
  • LED Control Lights : These lights might indicate the status of the trap, such as armed, triggered, or needing attention.
  • On/Off Switch : This switch controls the power to the trap, allowing it to be safely set up or turned off when not in use.
  • Place for Adapter : This is the designated spot to connect the power adapter for the trap.
  • Safety Doors : These are likely protective gates that prevent accidental contact with the electrified parts of the trap.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Electronic Rodent Trap is equipped with advanced smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters the trap. When the device is turned on, a green light and then a red light will illuminate. The red light will then flash once indicating that the trap is working properly. The red light will continue to flash every 10 seconds indicating that the device is active. When the rodent enters the device, the red light will illuminate indicating that the device is activated and is emitting a high-voltage shock. When the kill is complete, the red light will stop and a green light will start flashing. Do not touch the device until the red light stops and the green light is flashing. To dispose of the kill, just deposit the rodent directly into the trash for a hygienic, safe, no touch disposal.

Features and Functionality

  • Safe Protection Switch : This safety feature ensures the unit is not active and poses no danger while the lid is open. It’s a mechanism designed to prevent accidental electric shock.
  • Stainless Steel Plate : This is likely the area within the trap where the rodent is lured and upon which it must step to trigger the trap’s electric shock mechanism.
  • Bait : There is a designated area for placing bait, which attracts the rodent into the trap.
  • Plug-in or Cordless : The trap can be powered in two ways, either by plugging it into an electrical outlet or operating it cordlessly, which might imply battery operation.

The trap does not require a continuous power supply from an electrical outlet and can be used without the need for an expensive exterminator service. The image shows a mouse inside the trap, indicating where the rodent would be upon triggering the trap, and the bait is also visible, which is used to lure the mouse into the device.

Usage Instructions

  • Turn the unit on : The first instruction seems to indicate that you should turn the unit on to the “On” position, likely after ensuring that it is charged or connected to a power source.
  • Bait placement : The second step instructs to place bait in the center area of the trap. This is where you would put something to attract the mouse, like cheese or peanut butter.
  • Cover placement : The third step shows that you should slide the top cover to the left. This is probably part of the process of arming the trap and ensuring it’s ready to catch a mouse.
  • Switch activation : The fourth and final step indicates that you should turn the switch to the “-” position, which might be the setting to activate the trap.

DIRECTIONS
  • Step 1 – Assemble the Trap (Follow the diagram on side of unit)
  • Step 2 – Bait the Trap. The Electronic Rodent Trap can be baited with any food. However, we recommend using peanut butter.
  • Step 3 – Plug in the electrical cord (for indoor use), or Insert 4 “D” Batteries (for outdoor use) If the batteries are low or need to be replaced, the red light and green light will flash.
  • Step 4 – Attach extension light indicator

The device is equipped with an extension light indicator that can be plugged into the unit and hung from the device if it is placed in a high place where the top of the unit cannot be seen.

NOTE:

The device should be placed in a well-ventilated area that is not exposed to any moisture. If the device gets wet, it may result in a short circuit. Remove batteries while the device is being stored and not in use.

REMOVING A KILL

Turn the device off before removing the dead rodent. Deposit the rodent directly into the trash for a hygienic, safe, no-touch disposal. After disposal, separate the two halves of the device and clean the half with the metal plates thoroughly. This is to remove the smell of dead rodents that will deter any other rodents from going into the device. Use detergent to wash the base then clean with pure water. Make sure the device is 100% dry before reassembling it. Then continue to Step 2.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the red light is flashing but the unit is empty, turn the power off and then back on. This is most likely caused by a failed zapper attempt where the rodent escaped rapidly before getting fully electrocuted.
