Sound During Operation
Your new ice maker may make sounds that are unfamiliar to you. Most sounds are normal.
The sounds described below may be the ones you hear:

  • A high efficiency compressor may make a throbbing or screeching sound.
  • Water going from the evaporator to the tank will make a splashing sound.
  • At the end of each cycle, you can hear the gurgling sound of refrigerant flowing.
  • The sound of air being compressed above the condenser by the condenser fan.
  •  At the end of the de-icing cycle, you may hear the sound of ice falling into the box.

Cleaning $ Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper care and maintenance will ensure that the ice maker works efficiently, performs well and has a long operating life.

  • Disconnect and unplug the unit before cleaning.
  • Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents, which may damage the machine or leave harmful substances behind.
  • Do not wash the machine, but wipe the outside of the machine with a damp cloth.
  •  Dry the inside and outside of the machine with a soft, clean cloth.
  • Regularly check the drain plug for looseness to prevent water leakage.

Clean it after the first use or after leaving it for a long time:

  • Disinfectant solution: water and vinegar, or citric acid (ratio: 10: 1)

  • Wipe the interior with the solution, including the part of the evaporator that can be reached by hand (icing column).

  • Fill up the ice-making water, run the ice maker and discard the first two ice cubes produced.
Then remove the remaining water from the drain, reinstall the drain plug to ensure it is tightly in place.

  • Re-clean the remaining water with a clean, soft cloth. Finish cleaning.

Strange Odours:
If the ice cubes have a strange, offensive smell or if there is a mouldy odour in the machine, clean the inside of the machine using the steps above.
