Introduction
The Gold Note PH-7 mk2 is a high-performance convenient MM & MC phono preamplifier featuring a Hybrid Power Supply with a temperature automatic stabilizer.
The innovative design developed for the PH-7 allows matching easily any kind of MM and MC cartridge with a wide option of set up with easy access impedance setting and truly balanced design and output connectors.
The PH-7 enables superior audio purity with any audio system and all Micro line units featuring an optional external Power Supply (PSU).
The modern convenient compact luxury look helps introduce the unit into any audio system or building a full Micro Line system to offer a complete line of high-class convenient products.

Back Panel Features
The PH-7 back panel includes the following features:

Operating Conditions
The PH-7 Front Panel indicates the following operating conditions:
- Green light ON: unit is powered by optional external power supply
- Red/Green light ON: unit is thermally stabilized
PH-7 Gain & Load
To adjust the load, capacitance, or unit settings for MM or MC cartridges, use optional RCA loaded plugs into the dedicated connectors (4). Contact Gold Note to get the proper plug if needed. For High Output MC cartridges, test to find the best matching according to the manufacturer’s suggestion.
Optional External Power Supply Unit (PSU)
The PH-7 can be set up with an optional external Power Supply Unit (PSU7) via the professional Tyco connector (5) on the back panel. The PSU-7 is a large inductive power supply that completely decouples the PH-7 from the AC for uncompromised sound performance. The PSU-9 is an external power supply driven by a double massive battery power supply that is automatically rechargeable.
Product Usage Instructions
Set-Up Instructions
- Open all the cartons inside the main box and ensure that all the components listed in the packaging are present.
- Carefully remove the PH-7 MM & MC Phono Preamplifier chassis from the shipping box and foam.
- Connect the audio cable (not supplied) to the audio inputs of the PH-7.
- Connect the AC Power Chord supplied to the power input of the PH-7

- (4) MM & MC INPUT – MM & MC Stereo RCA Input
- (5) LOAD INPUT – Adjusting connectors for MM & MC

- (7) IEC PLUG with FUSE – 100 -240 Volt – 50/60Hz with 1 A fuse
(Operating Conditions)
Once the PH-7 has been correctly wired and positioned on a solid shelf it is
ready to play.
The PH-7 has been designed for use in Hi-Fi systems in sheltered locations. It
ought therefore to be protected from any eventual variations in temperature
and humidity. Avoid to use the unit close to radiators or other strong heat
sources, electrical and electronic motors, switched-on mobile phones, etc.
The location in proximity of other audio components is not theoretically
critical, but you should nevertheless pay attention to this.
In any case, take care to unplug completely the unit every time you need to
move it or to move the turntable on which it is installed.

- (14) RED/GREEN LED Light – With RED light ON the unit is powered by the internal power supply.
With Greenlight ON then the unit is powered by the optional external power supply.
PLEASE NOTE: When the unit is thermally stabilized the ON Red/Green light fed down.
(PH-7 Gain & Load)
The PH-7 can be set up to be used both with MM or MC cartridges. The input can
be even finely set up with optional plugs.
The MM stereo RCA input (8) features a 48B gain stage able to drive all MM
cartridges of the market.
Once the MM input is selected the MM stage sets up the unit automatically on a
47KS load which is the worldwide standard compliance for it.
The MC stereo RCA input (9) features a 65B gain stage able to drive all MC cartridges of the market. Once the MC input is selected the MC stage sets up the unit automatically on a 47052 load.
To eventually adjust the load or the capacitance of the unit once select MM or
MC it is necessary to use optional RCA loaded plugs into the dedicated
connectors (4).
Ask Gold Note to get the proper plug eventually.
PLEASE NOTE: The High Output MC cartridge must be tested to find the best matching according to the manufacturer’s suggestion.

If the unit is not registered correctly or is been purchased from a different
country than the purchaser’s origin/home the unit will not be covered by any
warranty and the eventual registration refused.
The warranty does not cover in any case: Tubes, Phono Cartridge Styli, and
Batteries.
