product

Product Information

Specifications

  • Product: PeaIDr3l00D0 Digital Fire Detection System
  • Addressable Loop Powered Audible Visual Devices Specification
  • Compliance with standards: EN54 part 3

Functionality
The product consists of six basic product groups:

  • Wall mounting sounders
  • Wall mounting sounders & combined Visual Alarm Device
  • Wall or ceiling mounting Visual Alarm Devices
  • Base sounders for use beneath detectors
  • Base sounders & combined supplementary indicators for use beneath detectors

Address Setting
The warning devices provide address settings on the device using decimal switches. Binary address setting methods, such as dip switches, code cards, or soft addressing are not acceptable. The warning device also features an internal identifying code that the C.I.E. uses to identify the type of device.

Tone and Volume Settings
The audible warning devices have 32 different tone settings, which are site- configurable. They also have up to 8 distinguishable tone settings that can be operated via C.I.E programming or remote input (e.g., Class Change, Bomb Alert). The audible warning devices have three volume settings, which are site-configurable from the C.I.E. or at the device.

Additional Requirements
Up to 159 warning devices may connect to one SLC loop. The wall-mounting units have a waterproof mounting option for external fitting. The base sounder and combined base sounder / supplementary indicators do not require an additional detector base.

Product Usage Instructions

Address Setting

  1. Locate the decimal switches on the warning device.
  2. Set the desired address by adjusting the decimal switches.
  3. Ensure that the internal identifying code matches the type of device.

Tone and Volume Settings
To configure tone and volume settings:

  1. Access the C.I.E programming or remote input interface.
  2. Select the specific warning device you want to configure.
  3. Choose from the available tone settings and adjust as desired.
  4. Set the volume level to one of the three configurable options.

Connecting Warning Devices
If you need to connect multiple warning devices to the system, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the SLC loop can support up to 159 devices.
  2. Connect each warning device to the SLC loop using the appropriate wiring.

Mounting Options
If you are installing wall-mounting units:

  1. Select the appropriate mounting location on the wall.
  2. Ensure that the chosen location is waterproof if an external fitting is required.
  3. Securely mount the warning device using the provided mounting hardware.

Base Sounder Installation
If you are installing base sounders or combined base sounders/supplementary indicators beneath detectors:

  1. Ensure that the detector base is compatible with the warning device.
  2. Connect the warning device to the detector base without requiring an additional base.

Compliance with standards

  • Intelligent Addressable Sounders shall be third-party approved to EN54 part 3 and shall be the primary means of evacuation.
  • Visual Alarm Devices (VADs) complying with EN54-23 are only required if they are considered to be the primary source of evacuation for building occupants as defined within the building’s fire risk assessment.
  • Visual Indicating Devices (VIDs) can provide useful supplementary indications that may increase the awareness of people about an event.

Functionality

  • Six basic product groups shall be available consisting of:
    • Wall mounting sounders;
    • Wall mounting sounders & combined Visual Alarm Devices;
    • Wall or ceiling mounting Visual Alarm Devices;
    • Base sounders for use beneath detectors;
    • Base sounders & combined supplementary indicator for use beneath detectors;
  • Intelligent Addressable Audible Visual Devices shall operate on a digital protocol to give reduced power consumption, up to 159 detectors and 159 modules may be connected to a single loop.
  • Intelligent Addressable Audible Visual Devices shall be fitted with a loop isolation device built into the device.
  • The location of devices on the loop circuit shall with the aid of a Loop Mapping Tool be able to identify its location and address on the loop, allowing for a schematic layout drawing to be produced and printed for use in the O&M manual.
  • The warning devices shall fit to a common mounting plate incorporating a twist-lock bayonet fitting.
  • Warning devices shall connect with two wires to one of the C.I.E. Signalling Line Circuit loops and derive the control and power from this single connection.

Address setting

  • The warning devices shall provide address settings on the device using decimal switches.
  • Addressable warning devices that use binary address setting methods, such as a dip switch, code cards or soft addressing are not acceptable.
  • The warning device shall also feature an internal identifying code that the C.I.E. shall use to identify the type of device.

Tone and volume settings

  • The audible warning devices shall have 32 different tone settings, which shall be site configurable.
  • The audible warning device shall have up to 8 distinguishable tone settings, which can be operated via C.I.E programming or remote input i.e. Class Change, Bomb Alert.
  • The audible warning devices shall have three volume settings, which shall be site configurable, from the C.I.E. or at the device.

Additional requirements
