USER INTERFACE

The camera’s user interface can be accessed by removing the cap from the camera housing. Use the  lens cap pin or a piece of string to remove the cap by sticking it through the hole in the cap and pulling it. You can also remove the cap by working it free with your hands – wiggle it back and forth until it comes off.

Do not try to remove the cap by using sharp tools such as screwdrivers or knives.

RECORD – HOW TO GET STARTED

3.1. The battery should only be charged with the supplied charging cable. This should be inserted into the USB type C port and connected to a USB power source. The camera charging indicator light will light up when charging. If that light switches off it means that the battery is fully charged. With the Micro SD card inserted the light will be red and green. Without the Micro SD card, when charging, only the red light will be on.

3.2. Insert a Micro SD card or Micro SDHD card (preferably 32GB class 10) into the Micro SD card slot small end first, label facing down.

Power On. To switch the camera on: short press the Rec/Pause button (with inserted card). Initially the yellow light will blink three times, followed by a constant light, matching the battery level:

• 66%-100%: green
• 33%-66%: yellow
• Below 33%: red

Start recording. Now short press the Rec/Pause button to start recording: The indicator light blinks in the battery level color (green, yellow or red).

Pause recording. When short pressing the same Rec/Pause button again the LED indicator will again flash three times and turn to constant light (which color depends on the battery level) , to indicate that the camera has stopped recording.

Power Off. Long press the Rec/Pause button for 2 seconds to power off: The indicator light blinks three times according to the battery level and then powers off.

3.3 The camera can be closed by carefully placing the cap on. After checking if the camera is closed properly and completely it is ready for use.

Important! When placing the cap on the camera, always ensure the O-shaped seals lay flat. This is to ensure a tight, waterproof seal, to prevent water from getting in.

Useful tip: A useful tip: when the camera is fully charged, align the small triangle on the cap with the “100%” printed on the camera housing. If the battery is dead, turn the small triangle away from the “100%”. That way you can always easily tell if the battery is dead or not, which is particularly useful if you have more than one camera.

SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHTS

Power On. To switch the camera on: short press the Rec/Pause button (with inserted card). Initially the yellow light will blink three times, followed by a constant light, matching the battery level:

• 66%-100%: green
• 33%-66%: yellow
• Below 33%: red

Start recording. Now short press the Rec/Pause button to start recording: The indicator light blinks in the battery level color (green, yellow or red).

Pause recording. When short pressing the same Rec/Pause button again the LED indicator will again flash three times and turn to constant light (which color depends on the battery level) , to indicate that the camera has stopped recording.

Power Off. Long press the Rec/Pause button for 2 seconds to power off: The indicator light blinks three times according to the battery level and then powers off.

WIFI On/Off. After turning the camera on, short press the WIFI button to activate the WIFI. The red and green lights will flash alternately.

When the connection with the phone is established the indicator light flashed green.

If the WIFI connection with the phone is not established within 1 minute, the camera will automatically switch off the WIFI function and return to the Power On standby mode.

Low battery indication. When the battery is dying the indicator light will flash red for 10 seconds before switching off automatically.

Charging. When connected to a charger or a computer for charging, the indicator light remains solid red. It turns off when the battery is fully charged.

No card indication. If you switch the camera on without an Micro SD card inserted the charge indicator light will flash red rapidly ten times.

Card full indication. When you press the Rec/Pause button, to start recording, and the system indicator flashes a red light intermittently ten times the Micro SD card is full.

Card error. In case of a card error: reformat the Micro SD card.

Formatting Micro SD card. If the system is switched on and the system indicator flashes a red light intermittently ten times and then shuts down, your Micro SD card is the wrong format or corrupted. To fix this issue you need to reformat your Micro SD card to FAT32. This can be done on a computer, or directly on the camera by long pressing the WIFI button for 5 seconds while the red light is flashing.

Don’t remove the SD card SD while the red light is flashing. Failing to do so could damage the files.

After formatting the indicator light will turn red for 1 second and then change to a long light in the colour of the battery level. That’s the sign that the formatting was completed successfully. If you didn’t succeed, try another Micro SD card to check.

WARNING: formatting will delete all the files. Remember to first back-up the files on a computer, if still possible, before formatting.

WATER WOLF APP MANUAL

Before utilizing the WIFI functionality make sure you have installed the Water Wolf application on your smartphone. You can download the app by searching for ‘Water Wolf’ on Google Play (for Android smartphones) or the Apple Store (for iOS smartphones). Alternatively, you may conveniently scan the below QR code with your mobile phone. Use your iOS phone to scan the iOS QR code or your Android phone to scan the Android QR code, which will direct you to the download link for installing the Water Wolf app on your device.

MOBILE APP AND CAMERA WIFI CONNECTION

Click on the Water Wolf icon to open the APP and go to the WIFI connection interface, as shown below:

**Click on the “How to connect your Water Wolf” to get to the connection wizard and follow the following five steps:

Ensure yourself the camera is switched on and press the WIFI button.

Important note:**
Insert the Micro SD card. To turn the camera on: short press the REC/PAUSE button. The system indicator light will go on. To activate the WIFI: short press the WIFI button. The camera light will flash alternately.

The camera will automatically switch off the WIFI (and return to the Power On standby mode) if the connection with the phone is not established within 1 minute. You can change the time to automatically turn off the WIFI in the APP.

Enter the phone’s WIFI settings, as shown as below.

Connecting the phone to the camera.
Select “RD11Sxxxx” WIFI and enter the password 12345678. The green camera light will flash to indicate that the connect has been established successfully.

If the phone is connected to camera, it will look like below:

Click on the connect icon to enter the camera menu, as shown below:

Click on the setting icon to set the camera parameter.

Resolution| Different resolutions for option, 2K 60; 2K 30; 1296P 30; 1080P 60; 1080P 30; 720P 60; 720P 30; 480P 30; 368P30. Default is 2K 30 fps. Note: the higher the resolution, the higher the battery consumption.

Recording audio| To switch recording sound On or Off. Default is on.
WIFI name| To revise the WIFI name. Note: the new name will be valid after restarting the camera. Please pick, in total, twelve English language letters and digits.
WIFIpassword| The original password is: 12345678. Note: the new password will be valid after restarting the camera. Please pick, in total, eight English language letters and digits.
Frequency| To set the camera Frequency on luminaire 50Hz or 60Hz.
Camera name| The camera supports, in total, twelve English language letters and digits.
WIFI Off| The WIFI turns Off automatically if not connected to theWIFI after 1-3 minutes. Default is 1 minute.
SD card format| To format the SD card. Note: if you format the SD card all the files will be deleted permanently. When you use a completely new SD card you are advised to format it before use.
Default setting| To reset the camera to the factory settings.
SD card capacity| To review the SD card capacity.

HOW TO MOUNT THE CAMERA

Mounting for lure fishing

a. Tie the leader to the front eye and the mainline to the rear eye. Pull the bead on the tube to the rear eye and insert the camera into the mount.

b. Push the bead on the tube all the way to the mount, locking the camera in place. Pull the wire until the eye is inside the collar.

Different mounting options.

1. Trolling near the surface with a shallow diving crank bait with the size S brass weight inserted.
2. Trolling in deep water with a bit bigger, deeper diving crank bait. 12 grams of brass weight is inserted. The camera is mounted in eye of the spring wire, to prevent aggressive wobbling movements causing shaky recordings.
3. Bottom exploration (on for instance carp venues) without brass weight.

The distance between the camera and the lure should be between 40 and 100cm (1,5 to 4ft), depending on the water clarity.

BRASS WEIGHTS

The small brass weights of 8, 11 and 15 grams give the camera a stable path through the water and balance the camera.

Without brass weight: floating
With the 8 gram brass weight: suspending
With the 11 gram brass weight: slow sinking
With the 15 grams brass weight: fast sinking

LENS PROTECTIVE CAP

The Lens protective cap is designed to protect the camera lens during transportation, even when mounted on a fishing rod.

The steel pin with eye allows you to easily remove the cap from the camera. Just stick it in the dedicated hole then gently twist and pull. To close the camera again: gently twist and push until completely closed. Note: the twisting ensures that the O-ring seals will stay in place properly and keep the water out.

The same metal pin makes it easy to push the brass weights out of the collar.

MEMORY CARD/SD-CARD

A 32GB Micro SD TF card is recommended for use with the Water Wolf 2K WIFI camera. The card must be FAT32 formatted.

WARNING: Only enter or remove the Micro SD card when the camera is switched off.

TRANSFERRING FILES TO YOUR PC

1. Turn off the camera and take out the Micro SD card. Alternatively, the camera can be connected to the computer via the USB cable, with the camera turned on.
2. Insert the Micro SD card into your computer’s card slot.
3. Double click on the icon “computer” and find “external hard disc”.
4. Double click on the “external hard disc” icon.
5. Double click ‘DCIM’.
6. Double click “100MEDIA”. Now all your recorded video is shown.
7. Select the files you want to move.
8. Copy and paste to the preferred folder or drag and drop the files there.

WARNING: If you have more than one camera, please create separate folders for each camera to avoid overwriting different files with the same names.

TRANSFERRING FILES TO YOUR MAC

1. Turn off the camera and take out the Micro SD card. Alternatively, the camera can be connected to your computer via the USB cable with the camera turned on.
2. Insert the Micro SD card into your computers card slot.
3. The card is recognized by your computer as an external disc. Double click the icon “external disc/storage unit”. Now all recordings are shown.
4. Select your files and copy and paste them to the preferred folder or drag and drop them there.

NOTE: when you delete files from the Micro SD card, remember to also remove them from your “Paper/trash bin”. Otherwise they will continue to take up space on the SD card.

WARNING: If you have more than one camera, please create separate folders for each camera to avoid overwriting different files with the same names.

PLAYING AND EDITING FILES ON PC/MAC

Playing and editing films on your PC.
On a PC you can play the camera’s MOV.files in programs like Media Player, Media Player Classic, VLC Player, QuickTime Player.

The files can be edited in freeware such as Movie Maker, Avidemux, VSDC and so on.

Playing and editing films on your MAC.
On a MAC the camera’s MOV. files are played in programs such as QuickTime, VLC Player and so on.

The files can be edited in free programs as I Movie, Avidemux, Lightworks and so on.

Apple has a standard bit-rate for MOV. files so before these can be opened in I Movie or QuickTime the program must do calculations on the files. That may take some time.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

The camera should be rinsed with lukewarm water with the cap mounted after each use. Dry it with a soft, dry cloth (preferably microfiber).

WARNING: Do not use rubbing alcohol or other chemical products to clean the camera because it might damage the lens!

FILMING UNDER WATER / VLC PLAYER

The biggest hindrance in terms of filming under water is the water clarity. To be able to do quality video, where the fish and lure are clearly visible, the water visibility must be 1 meter or more. Often, algae and other water sediments – especially in ponds and lakes, will cause diminished water clarity. The deeper the camera is probing, the less colour will show up in the footage. Furthermore, algae and sediments will tend to make the recordings greenish. To enhance details on your recordings – if they display unnatural colours or they’re diffuse – watch them in Sepia* mode. Open the VLC Player menu “Adjustments and effects” and choose “Sepia” in the “Colour” menu. This can be done while you play your recorded video back. In the VLC Player it is also possible to see the strikes frame by frame. Pause the video by clicking the “Space” button and move on to the next frame by clicking “e”. You can save screenshots, convert file formats and cut out video.
