Product Usage Instructions

Power
The Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi can be powered by a 9V battery or a 9VDC AC Adapter. To use the AC Adapter, make sure it can deliver at least 25mA and has a center negative plug that fits a 2.1mm center pin. We recommend using the EHX 9.6DC-200 AC Adapter.

Using a 9V Battery:

  1. Locate the center screw on the bottom of the device.
  2. Remove the screw to take off the battery plate.
  3. Replace the old battery with a new 9V battery.
  4. Avoid touching the circuit board while the battery plate is off.
  5. Put the battery plate back in place and secure it with the screw.

This commemorative Muff is inspired by the rich history of the Big Muff Pi and Electro-Harmonix, with design elements that pay homage to the many faces of the Big Muff Pi. The Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi’s limited-edition, laser-etched, golden chassis you now hold in your hands houses the sweet singing sustain of our most coveted violet Ram’s Head circuit.

CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONS

  • VOLUME Knob Sets the output level
  • TONE Knob Provides a range of sounds from high treble to deep bass. As you turn the knob clockwise the treble increases and bass decreases.
  • SUSTAIN Knob Adjusts the amount of sustain and distortion
  • Footswitch Status LED Use the footswitch to toggle between effect and bypass. The device is active when the LED is lit. When the LED is off, the pedal is in true bypass.
  • INPUT Jack Plug the output of your instrument or another effects pedal into the ¼” INPUT jack The input impedance presented at this jack is 117kΩ.
  • AMPLIFIER Jack Connect the device’s ¼” AMPLIFIER jack to the input of your amplifier or another effects pedal. When the device is in bypass, the AMPLIFIER jack is connected directly to the IN jack. The output impedance is 25kΩ.

POWER

The Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi is powered by a 9V battery or you can use an optional 9VDC AC Adapter capable of delivering at least 25mA. We recommend the EHX 9.6DC-200 AC Adapter. The AC Adapter must have a center-negative plug that fits a 2.1mm center pin. The pedal has a current draw of approximately 12mA at 9VDC. The external power supply should not exceed 14VDC.

Please Note: Using the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage your device and void the warranty. Changing the Battery To change the 9V battery, remove the center screw on the bottom of the device. Take off the battery plate and change the battery. Avoid touching the circuit board while the battery plate is off. Replace the battery plate and screw.

WARRANTY INFORMATION

Please register online at www.ehx.com/product-registration or complete and return the enclosed warranty card within 10 days of purchase. Electro-Harmonix will repair or replace, at its discretion, a product that fails to operate due to defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This applies only to original purchasers who have bought their product from an authorized Electro-Harmonix retailer. Repaired or replaced units will then be warranted for the unexpired portion of the original warranty term.
