Part 1: Attention

Do not directly touch the photosensitive drum with your fingers, as it can result in poor print quality.

Do not touch the electric contacts on the toner cartridge, as doing so can cause clogs, toner failure, or poor electrical connections.

Do not expose the cartridge to direct sunlight or temperatures of more than 35°C, as this may degrade the photosensitive drum inside the toner cartridge.
Part 2: How to install

Turn on the printer by pressing the button on the right panel and open the front cover.

Remove the old toner cartridge from the printer.

Unpack the new toner cartridge and gently shake it from side to side 5-6 times to evenly distribute the toner inside the cartridge.

Carefully remove the protective paper from the photosensitive roller.

Pull out the protective sealing tape from the inside of the toner cartridge.

Insert the toner cartridge and close the front cover.

How to prevent error messages?
Your printer will block compatible cartridges as soon as the firmware updates. Turn off the updates now to make sure nothing stops you from getting your work done.
If your printer has a touch screen:
On the control panel, select: “Setup” ➔ “Service” ➔ “Laser Jet Update” ➔ “Manage updates.” Then choose “Check ➔ Automatically” ➔ “Off,” “Prompt before install” ➔ “Always prompt,” “Allow updates” ➔ “No.”
If your printer has a non-touch screen:
On the printer’s control panel, click the “Back” Icon several times to get your printer ready. Click “OK” to enter the “Main Menu” ➔ “OK” to enter “Setup” ➔ click the “Right” arrow 7 times to find “Printer Maintenance” and select ➔ “OK.” Then click “Right” 5 times to find “Update Firmware” ➔ “OK” ➔ “All configured settings will be deleted and the original factory ... ” ➔ “OK.” Then click the “OK” button to enter “Manage Update” ➔ “OK” to see “Allow Updates.” Then click “Right ” ➔ “No” and “OK” to confirm the selection. When the screen displays the message “ Some printer features might not work properly. If updates … ” ➔ “OK.”
How to fix “Non-HP cartridges”/”Used or Counterfeit Cartridges”/”Used or Counterfeit Installed” errors?
Press the “OK” button and resume printing.
How to fix “Cartridge Low”/”Used or Counterfeit Cartridge In Use” errors?
Click “Snooze” on your computer and then, select “ 2 Months.”
How to fix “Cartridge Memory Error”/”Cartridge Communications Error”/” 10.0004 Supply Error”/” 1 0.000X Supply Memory Error”/” 10.330X Supply Error” errors?
Option 1
With the printer turned on, open the front cover. Close it after 2-3 seconds,
then resume printing.
Option 2
The toner cartridge may not be correctly installed. With the printer turned
on, open the front cover, and remove the toner cartridge. Wait 2 minutes, put
it back, and close the front cover.
Option 3
With the printer turned on, open the front cover and remove the toner
cartridge. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the cartridge chip. Put the
cartridge back and close the front cover.
How to resolve print quality issues?
The toner may have solidified in the cartridge. Take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit and gently shake it to redistribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
NOTE: Using compatible/remanufactured cartridges will not void your printer assurance. Federal law prohibits any company from requiring you to purchase only its products and prohibits a manufacturer from voiding your printer’s warranty due to usage of alternative cartridges:
