WARNING
DO NOT USE IN-TANK DROP-IN TOILET BOWL CLEANERS. Use of such products will
RESULT IN DAMAGE to tank components and MAY CAUSE FLOODING and PROPERTY DAMAGE
and VOID WARRANTY. DO NOT overtighten nut or tank/bowl may crack. Inspect unit
every 6 months and replace if there are any signs of cracking, deterioration,
or wear and tear.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-
Prepare Tank: Shut the water supply valve off, and flush the toilet to empty the tank. Remove any excess water left in the tank with a sponge or towel. Disconnect the water supply line coupling nut from the bottom tank of the Fill Valve by turning the coupling nut clockwise. (Optional) Place a bucket under the tank to catch residual water. Remove Old Fill Valve: Remove the Lock nut from the bottom tank of the Fill Valve by turning the locknut clockwise. Remove the Fill Valve including the Refill Tube, Refill Clip, and Shank Washer (not shown).
-
Prepare New Fill Valve: Position the new toilet Fill Valve to face the overflow tube (see orientation). Make sure the fill valve parts do not interfere with the lever handle. Ensure the Rubber Washer is seated in the hole before tightening with the Lock Nut & Washer under the tank as shown. Hand tightens the Lock Nut (use no tools).
Do not over-tighten. Overtightening may crack the fill valve or tank causing flooding. -
Remove the Old Flush Valve: Unhook the flapper chain from the tank lever. (Use Adjustable Pliers) Unbolt tank hex nuts from underneath of toilet bowl, lift the tank, and lay on its side on a safe and secure surface. Remove all bolts, hex nuts, and rubber washers (not shown). Remove the Tank-to-Bowl-Gasket from under the tank. Use Adjustable Pliers on the Lock Nut, turn clockwise for removal, and remove the old Flush Valve from the tank.
-
Install Adjustable Flush Valve: Insert a new Adjustable Flush Valve into the tank hole. Position the overflow tube toward the back of the tank (Do not cover bolt holes of the tank). Holding Adjustable Flush Valve in place, hand-tighten Lock Nut counter-clockwise. Do not overtighten or tank may crack resulting in leakage and/or flooding. Place the new Tank-to-Bowl-Gasket on the bottom of the Lock Nut. Tank-to-Bowl-Gasket should cover Lock Nut.
-
Installing Toilet Bolts: Place one rubber washer on each tank bolt. Place
bolts inside the tank through the bottom holes of the tank. Set tank onto bowl. Place metal washers and hex nuts on each bolt underneath the toilet bowl. Hand-tighten hex nuts counter-clockwise evenly until tank is snug and does not rock.
Do not overtighten or tank may crack resulting in flooding. -
Preparing Adjustable Flush Valve: (Step 6a) Pull the internal overflow adjustment tube upward or push downward using the numerical height adjustment guide at 3/8″ increment markings for height adjustment provided it’s no higher than the 1″ distance between the Port Line and top of the Overflow Tube. (See STEP 7).
(Step 6b) Turn the internal tube 3/4 clockwise to lock in place as shown. -
Adjust Fill Valve: Adjust the fill valve height so the top of the cap is even with the top of the tank. Fill valve height adjustment, If necessary:
To Increase/Decrease height, align the Tab Lock (in a downward position) over the Rib body settings. Push/Pull from numerical settings at 1/2″ increments until proper height is achieved. After proper height is achieved, turn the Upper Fill Valve Tube 1 /4 counter-clockwise to lock it in place. Push the Tab Lock upward to secure it in place. The height should allow the final float adjustment to be achieved with a thumb screw. -
Install Refill Tube: To install the Refill Tube, attach one end of the refill tube to the Tube Port. Attach the other end with a Clip to the top of the Overflow Tube. Trim the Refill Tube to length (Optional) with scissors to prevent kinking.
Warning: Do not insert refill tubing down Overflow Pipe may cause significant water waste. -
Installing Lever Handle: To remove old lever handle, remove the tank lever nut (this is a reverse thread nut). Pull the old lever from the tank. Push new lever through tank lever hole. Slide tank
lever lock nut onto lever arm with flat side of nut facing tank lever thread. Tighten the Lock Nut in the direction shown (clockwise). Do not over-tighten. Lock Nut is a reverse thread. -
Attaching Flapper Chain: Attach the chain link to the lever handlebar directly above the flapper. Leave 1 /2 inch of slack in the chain.
-
Attach Water Supply Connector: Attach the water supply coupling nut to fill the valve. Turn counter-clockwise by hand until tight.
Warning : Overt1ghtening the nut could damage the fill valve or coupling nut and may result in the nut-cracking resulting in leakage and/or flooding.
To check for leaks, turn on the water supply valve. Should leaking occur-turn coupling nut is enough to stop leaking.
Flush the toilet to check.
DO NOT USE PLUMBER’S PUTTY TO SEAL FITTINGS.
