Front Load Washer Cycle Guide
Settings and options shown in bold are default settings for that wash cycle. For best fabric care, choose the cycle, options, and settings that best fit the load being washed. Always read and follow fabric care labels and laundry product instructions. Avoid tightly packing the washer. The washer will not rinse well or spin correctly if tightly packed. Not all settings are available with each cycle, and some options cannot be used together. Not all options are available on all models.

About Detergent Concentration
WARNING
Fire Hazard
Never place items in the washer that are dampened with gasoline or other flammable fluids.
No washer can completely remove oil.
Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils).
Doing so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
Sort and Prepare Your Laundry
- Sort items by recommended cycle, water temperature, and colour fastness.
- Separate heavily soiled items from lightly soiled. Separate delicate items from sturdy fabrics.
- Treat stains promptly and check for color fastness by testing stain remover products on an inside seam.
- Empty pockets. Loose change, buttons, or any small object can plug pumps and may require a service call.
- Close zippers, fasten hooks, tie strings and sashes, and remove non-washable trim and ornaments.
- Mend rips and tears to avoid further damage to items during washing.
- For best performance, use HE detergent when washing bulky items.
- When washing waterproof or water-resistant items, load evenly. See “Cycle Guide” for tips and more information about washing waterproof or water-resistant items.
- Use mesh garment bags to help avoid tangling when washing delicate or small items.
- Turn knits inside out to avoid pilling. Separate lint-takers from lint-givers. Synthetics, knits, and corduroy fabrics will pick up lint from towels, rugs, and chenille fabrics.
- Promptly remove garments after cycle has completed to avoid odor, reduce wrinkling, and prevent rusting of metal hooks, zippers, and snaps.
- Do not dry garments if stains remain after washing because heat can set stains into fabrics.
NOTE: Always read and follow fabric care label instructions to avoid damage to your items.
Optimal Dose Dispenser
The Optimal Dose Dispenser automatically adds the right amount of detergent at
the appropriate time for up to 8 cycles. This is based on concentration
settings and the load size, soil level, and cycles selected.
NOTE: Heavy Soil Selection will increase the amount of detergent dispensed. HE detergents are designed to not produce bubbles/ suds but the machine is still effectively washing the clothes.
The Optimal Dose Dispenser cannot be disabled. The dispenser must be emptied of the current detergent if a different detergent/no detergent is desired. The Optimal Dose Dispenser functions only with liquid detergents.
- Do not add extra liquid detergent/pods/powder detergent to the tub/drum if there is already detergent in the dispenser to avoid an over suds condition.
- Before adding any pods or packets to the tub, check if the optimal dispenser drawer already has detergent in it. This machine will always dispense detergent from the optimal dispense drawer for every wash cycle.
When detergent in the bulk dispenser is running low, the display will flash
“Detergent Low”. detergent level (Low). If you choose not to use the Optimal
Dose Dispenser, this will still flash on the display due to a sensor in the
Dispenser port.
Setting the Concentration Level
Adjust the detergent concentration settings based on the concentration level of the HE detergent being used.
-
Check detergent bottle to determine the concentration level (2x-6x).
-
Hold down the temp + soil level buttons to change the concentration level. The screen will cycle through the concentrations; release buttons once the appropriate concentration value appears (2x-6x).
NOTE: The Default is set to 2x.
- 2x = Lowest concentration/largest amount of detergent added.
- 6x = Highest concentration/least amount of detergent added.
Concentration | Number of ounces ÷ number of loads |
---|---|
2X | 1.5–2.49 (44.4 mL–73.6 mL) |
3X | 0.9–1.49 (26.6 mL–44.1 mL) |
4X | 0.7–0.89 (20.7 mL–26.3 mL) |
5X | 0.5–0.69 (14.8 mL–20.4 mL) |
6X | 0.3–0.49 (8.9 mL–14.5 mL) |
Fabric softener and bleach can be added separately to their appropriate ports, but do not have the Optimal Dose Dispenser capability. They cannot be added in bulk and can only be used once per load (single load only).
NOTE: Do not add single-dose laundry packets, Oxi-type boosters, color- safe bleach, or fabric softener crystals to the Detergent Dispenser Port. They will not dispense correctly.
