SAFTY RULES

  1. To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn off the electricity to the fan at the main fuse box or circuit panel before installation.
  2. All wiring must be in accordance with the local electrical codes or National Electrical Code. Electrical installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
  3. To avoid injury, gloves may be required when handling fan components with sharp edges.
  4. Make sure the mounting location you choose has enough space for the blades to rotate and there are at least 7 feet (2.13 m) between the floor and the fan. And the tips of the fan blades are at least 18 inches (45.72 cm) from the wall or other upright structure.
  5. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR PERSONAL INJURY, mount the fan only to the outlet box marked Acceptable Fan Support, and use the mounting screws provided with the outlet box. Usually, most outlet boxes used for lighting fixture support are not suitable for fans and may need to be replaced, if in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
  6. The outlet box and ceiling support structure must be securely mounted and capable of supporting at least 45 kg.
  7. To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other items, be cautious when working around or cleaning the fan.
  8. Do not use water or detergents to clean the fan or blades. A dry rag or slightly damp cloth is suitable for most cleanings.
  9. After making electrical connections, spliced conductors should be turned upward and pushed carefully up into the outlet box. The wires should be spread apart with the grounded conductor and the equipment-grounding conductor on one side of the outlet box.
  10. Electrical diagrams are for reference only.
  11. It is recommended to install the fan indoors. If it is installed outdoors, it should avoid being affected by rain or other natural factors and reduce the service life.

TOOLS REQUIRED

OHNIYOU-GLX026-Ceiling-Fan-With-Light-FIG-1

This manual is designed to make it as easy as possible for you to assemble, install, operate and maintain your ceiling fan.

WARNING
Before assembling your ceiling fan, refer to section on proper method of wiring your fan (page 10). If you feel you do not have enough wiring knowledge or experience, have your fan installed by a licensed electrician.

Materials

Wiring outlet box and box connectors must be of type required by the local code. The minimum wire would be a 3-conductor(2-wire with ground) of the following size:

NOTE: Place the parts from the loose parts bags in a small container to keep them from being lost. If any parts are missing contact your local retailer.

Energy Efficient Use of Ceiling Fans

Ceiling Fan performance and energy savings rely heavily on the proper installation and use of the ceiling fan. Give some tips to ensure efficient product performance.

Choosing the Appropriate Mounting Location
Ceiling fans should be installed in the middle of the room and at least 10 feet above the floor and 18 inches from the walls. If ceiling height allows, install the fan 11-12 feet above the floor for optimal airflow.

Tum Off When Not in the Room
Ceiling fans cool people, not rooms. If nobody in the room, please tum off the ceiling fan to save energy.

Using the Ceiling Fan Year Round

  • Summer: Use the ceiling fan clockwise. The airflow created by the ceiling fan has a cooling effect, making you “feel” cooler. Breeze mode can be selected while sleeping to consume less energy at a lower speed.
  • Winter: Reverse the motor and run the ceiling fan counterclockwise at low speed. This creates a gentle updraft and forces warm air near the ceiling down into the occupied space. Remember to adjust the thermostat when using the ceiling fan, extra energy and money can be saved with this simple

Electrical and Structural Requirements

Your new ceiling fan will require a grounded power cord for 120 VAC, 60 Hz, and a 15 amp circuit. Electrical codes require the use of fan-rated outlet boxes to support the additional weight and motion associated with ceiling fans. Fan-rated boxes will be labeled as such and typically support up to a 70-pound ceiling fan. Fan-rated outlet boxes vary in rating and design. Make sure your ceiling fan outlet box is rated for the installation of the ceiling fan.

INSTALL THE MOUNTING BRACKET

To prevent personal injury and damage, ensure that the hanging location allows the blade clearance of 7 feet(2.13 meters) from the floor and 18 inches (45.72 centimetres) from any wall or obstruction.
If there isn’t an existing CUL-listed mounting box, then read the following instructions:

  1. For concrete ceilings: mark the location,then drill two holes in the ceiling, use the two provided expansion screws to help secure the ceiling brackets, and use the two provided expansion screws to secure the mounting brackets to the building structure, then tighten the screws. (Fig. 1)
  2. For the Wood Ceiling: Mark the location for the ceiling fan first, and secure the mounting bracket to the building structure with four wood screws provided. And Add a spacer to each screw(Fig.2)

If your fan needs to be replaced with an existing light fixture, first power off the main fuse box and remove the existing light fixture.

  *  **WARNING**

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount the fan to an outlet box marked acceptable for fan support of 15.88kg (35 I b) or less. Use the screws provided with the outlet box. Most outlet boxes normally used to support light fixtures may not be used for fan support and may need to be replaced. When in doubt, please consult an experienced electrician.

  *  **WARNING**

Turning off the wall switch is not enough. To avoid possible electric shock, make sure the main fuse box is powered off before wiring. All wiring must comply with national and local codes, and ceiling fans must be properly grounded to prevent possible electrical shock.

  *  **WARNING**

Do not operate this fan with a variable (rheostat) wall controller or dimmer switch. Failure to do so may damage the ceiling fan’s remote control.

How to Install Your Ceiling Fan

  1. Connect the ceiling fan live wire and neutral line with the live wire and the neutral wire reserved with the ceiling plate.(Figure 1)
  2. Use a screw nut to fix and lock the ceiling fan body on the side of the ceiling plate. (Figure 2)
  3. Twist the light cover counterclockwise and take it down(Figure 3)
  4. Pull out the socket of the light strip (Figure 4)
  5. Twist out the screw that locks the round hole in the disc.Loosen the remaining two screws(Figure 5)
