Recent Activity Home Screen

The iOS App opens to the Recent Activity page. Instructors can quickly access Recent Students, review any Notifications, and all relevant Student Performance stats.

Although most Instructors stay logged in, the Logout button is accessible by tapping the circle by your Profile.

NOTE: Deleting your account will erase ALL of your data and you will no longer be able to login to the app.

Assessment Overview

Assessments are located within each course. Selecting any lesson from your students list of courses will open the assessment overview page where all tasks and logbooks can be completed.

Course/Assessment List

Each Course drawer has a listing of Lessons, with tags for the lesson type (Flight, Ground or Simulator), a lesson status indicator, and an overview of Logbook Entries and Task progress. Lesson progress bar will turn green once all parts of each section are completed. The Submit button will then become active (blue) and the Assessment can be submitted for completion.

Completing Tasks

In the Tasks tab, you can quickly mark passed or missed by swiping to the left on the row. It’s also possible to select multiple tasks to mark complete or reset all of the tasks at once. To Defer or Reset a task, select and open the 3-dot menu by swiping left on a row.

Logbook Tab

At least one logbook entry must be submitted in order to complete a lesson. When you select a logbook entry type, you’ll notice each option is now color- coded and specific form fields are required. Approaches are easy to add and Remarks can be noted by tapping in the box.

NOTE: Logbook entries can NOT be edited AFTER a Course is completed.

Notifications Supported in iOS

New student connections and notifications are managed through the notifications panel. Accepting or declining a connection request can be accomplished by opening the notifications drawer or by tapping the bell icon in the main menus.

NOTE: Make sure that you’ve Accepted or Declined all connection requests before clearing all notifications.

Flight Ready Queue

The Flight Ready Queue is accessible from the main menu. Any Courses with assessments saved to the queue are indicated by a blue dot.

Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Updating the App

  1. Ensure that your Cirrus Approach iOS App is updated to the latest version.
  2. If an update is available, download and install it from the AppStore.

Step 2: Logging In

  1. Open the Cirrus Approach iOS App on your device.
  2. Enter your username and password to log in.

Step 3: Navigating the Main Menu

Once logged in, you will be taken to the Recent Activity home screen. From here, you can access various menu items:

  • Activity: Review recent/useful data quickly.
  • Students : View your list of students.
  • Flight Ready : Access the assessments queue for working offline.
  • Courses : Open the web browser and land on My Courses.
  • Feedback : Provide feedback and report bugs to the development team.

Step 4: Completing Assessments

  1. Select a lesson from your list of courses to open the assessment overview page.
  2. Complete all tasks and logbooks within the assessment.
  3. Mark tasks as passed or missed by swiping left on the row.
  4. To defer or reset a task, select the 3-dot menu by swiping left on a row.
  5. Make sure to submit the assessment for completion once all parts are completed.

Step 5: Logging Logbook Entries

  1. Select a logbook entry type.
  2. Fill in the required form fields.
  3. Add approaches if necessary.
  4. Note any remarks by tapping in the designated box.

Step 6: Managing Notifications

To manage notifications and student connections:

  • Open the notifications panel or tap the bell icon in the main menus.
  • Accept or decline connection requests as needed.
  • Make sure to handle all connection requests before clearing all notifications.

Step 7: Using Flight Ready Queue

If you need to work offline or in-flight, you can save assessments to the Flight Ready Queue:

  • Access the Flight Ready Queue from the main menu.
  • Courses with assessments saved to the queue will be indicated by a blue dot.

FAQ

Q: Can I edit my logbook entries after completing a course?

A : No, logbook entries cannot be edited after a course is completed. Please ensure the accuracy of your logbook entries before submitting a course for completion.

Q: How can I delete a notification?

A : To delete a single notification, swipe left on the notification. To delete all notifications, clear the notifications panel.

Q: How can I mark multiple tasks as complete or reset them at once?

A : To mark multiple tasks as complete, select them and mark them using the appropriate option. To reset multiple tasks at once, select them and open the 3-dot menu.

Q: What happens if I delete my account?

A : Deleting your account will erase all of your data, and you will no longer be able to log in to the app. Please make sure to back up any important data before deleting your account.

Flight Ready Mode – Offline Capability

Multiple Assessments can now be saved to your device for use offline and in- flight!

Flight Ready Queue

Saving Assessments for use offline adds the them to a Flight Ready Queue for quick access while in-flight. If you plan to fly with your Student, please make sure that you have the correct assessments saved to your device before heading to the aircraft.

Submitting Assessments
