System overview

The WSL4 quad-channel audio mixer combines versatile connections and pro features in one compact unit. The portable but functional mixer allows you to enjoy the compelling mix and spark your talents, ideal for gigs, home studios, karaoke, DJ parties, and more.

Operation Guidance

STEP 1: Connect inputs

  1. Connect microphones
  2. Dynamic microphones: XLR/6.35mm
  3. Condenser microphones: XLR/6.35mm
  *  **NOTE:** Remember to turn on +48 phantom power to charge your condenser or wired mics.
3. Wireless microphone system: connect an XLR or 6.35mm cable to the receiver and MIC/LINE input channel of the mixer.
  1. Connect instruments: 6.35mm
    • NOTE: Remember to press the HI-Z button when inputting the high impedance signal from the instrument.
  2. Connect electronic devices: USB-A

STEP 2: Connect outputs

  1. Connect the speaker: XLR
  2. Connect the headphone: PHONES (6.35mm mono)
  3. Connect a cassette recorder or other sound equipment: REC OUT (stereo RCA)

STEP 3: Power up the system

  1. Make sure the mixer is OFF and all the connections are connected successfully.
  2. Connect the mixer with the power adapter.
  3. Turning the mixer on.

STEP 4: Get sound to the speaker

  1. Make sure all [GAIN] and [LEVEL] knobs are at the starting point (minimum), and equalizer knobs are in the middle.
  2. Turn on all devices, from microphones, instruments, sound equipment, and WSL4 to speakers.
  3. Adjust all knobs of all devices based on your need.

Guidance 1: Use the DSP effects

  1. Turn the [PROGRAM] knob to select the desired effect, and then press the knob to enable it.
  2. Turn the channel [FX] knob to adjust the effect depth of each channel if you need.

Guidance 2: Use the Bluetooth Function

  1. Press the [MODE] button, and the “bLUE” stays alone on the screen in unconnected status.
  2. Turn on the Bluetooth mode of your device and connect it to the device named “MIX-MP3-BT”. If connected successfully, the CD icon will flashing.
  3. Short press the [PREV/V-] and [NEXT/V+] button to switch to the previous/next song, and long press them to reduce/increase the volume. Short press [P/P] button to play/pause the song.

NOTE: Turn on the [LINE/USB] switch if needed for adjusting the streaming music via the Channel 3/4.

Guidance 3: Use the USB Function

  1. USB streaming
  2. Press the [MODE] button to choose USB streaming mode, and the screen shows “NO”.
  3. Plug in the USB stick/cable.
  4. Short press the [PREV/V-] and [NEXT/V+] button to switch to the previous/next song, and long press them to reduce/increase the volume. Short press [P/P] button to play/pause the song.
  *  **NOTE:** Turn on the [LINE/USB] switch if needed for adjusting the streaming music via the Channel 3/4.

  2. Plug in the USB stick. Then press the [MODE] button and see “REC” on the screen.
  3. Short press the [P/P] button to start/pause the record.
  4. Long press the [P/P] button to finish and save the record.

Front Panel

Input Channel Block

  1. MIC Input Jack
    • [MIC/LINE]: Accepts both balanced XLR connectors and 1/4″ phone-type connectors. Connect microphones and/or instruments you intend to use.
  2. Stereo Input Jacks
    • [LINE(L/MONO, R)]: Unbalanced phone-type line stereo input jacks. [L/MONO] accepts mono input.
  3. HI-Z Button
    • To raise the input impedance of the mixer channel for better handling the higher impedance signal from electric/bass guitar or other instrument without overloading or distorting it.
  4. [PHANTOM +48V] Switch
    • This switch toggles Phantom power on and off . Turn this switch on to supply +48V phantom power when connecting a condenser microphone.
    • NOTE: In order to prevent noise and possible damage to external devices, be sure to leave this switch off if you do not need phantom power.
  5. [Gain] Knob
    • For adjusting the gain of the input signal
  6. 2-Band Equalizer Knobs (High & Low)
    • The equalizer shapes the high, and low audio frequencies. Turning the knob to the right amplifies (boosts) the corresponding frequency band while turning it to the left attenuates (cuts) the band.
    • Setting the knob to the middle position produces a flat response in the corresponding band.
  7. [FX] Knob
    • The [FX] knob is for adjusting the channel signal sent to the FX bus (built-in effects).
  8. Channel Level knob
    • For adjusting the level of the channel signal.
  9. [PEAK] Indicator
    • It lights red when the input level is too high. If it lights frequently, please lower the [GAIN] knob to the left to lower the volume.
  10. VLINE/USB] Switch
    • Switches the audio source input between [LINE] stereo input jack and the multimedia interface section.
    • *NOTE: [LINE] signals and USB/Bluetooth streaming signals CANNOT be adjusted simultaneously.
Multimedia & DSP Effects Block

Multimedia section

  1. Display
    • The display indicates the mode and status.
  2. [USB-A] Jack
    • The USB-A jack is compatible with mobile phone or USB flash drive to the mixer via a USB cable.
  3. [PREV/V﹣] Button
    • Short press it to switch to the previous song, and long press to reduce the volume.
  4. [NEXT/V+] Button
    • Short press it to switch to the next song, and long press to increase the volume.
  5. [P/P] Button
    • Short press it to play/pause the song of the device.
  6. [MODE] Button
    • For select the mode among USB streaming, Bluetooth streaming and USB recording.

DSP section

  1. Display
    • Indicates the effects program number selected with the [PROGRAM] knob ②. Twist the knob for selection and the program number flashing on the screen; however, if the chosen program is not enabled after several seconds, the program returns to the last number selected.
  2. [PROGRAM] Knob
    • Selects one of the 99 built-in effects. Twist the knob to select the desired effects, and then press the it to enable it.
  3. Effect Program List
    • This is the list of built-in effects programs.

Master Block

  1. [STEREO OUT ] Jack
    • The balanced XLR-type output jacks that output the stereo mix.
  2. [REC OUT] Jacks
    • Accept stereo RCA cable. The REC OUT Jack is used to output the stereo mix to hi-fi amplifier, cassette recorder, sound card, etc.
  3. [PHONES] Jack
    • Connect a pair of headphones to this TRS phone jack.
  4. [Output Level] Meter
    • The level meter lights when the corresponding output reaches the clipping level.
  5. [STEREO LEVEL] Knob
    • The [Stereo Level] Knob is for adjusting the volume of stereo out channel.
  6. [PHONE LEVEL] Knob
    • The [Phone Level] Knob is to adjust the sound that goes out of the Phone channel.

Rear panel

  1. [POWER] Switch
    • Turn on the POWER Switch or off to run the audio mixer on/off. The mixer is on power when the button is . The mixer is off power when the button is .
    • NOTE: Turn the[GAIN], [LEVEL]knobs and [STEREO LEVEL]knob fully to the left (minimum) before you turn the power switch on.
  2. DC 12V Jack
    • The DC 12V jack is an electrical connector for supplying direct current (DC) power. Plug in and connect the supplied DC *12V power adapter to this jack.

If any such defect is discovered within the warranty period, whitesand will repair or replace the unit free of charge, subject to verification of the defect or malfunction upon return to whitesand.

To the extent permitted by law, any applicable implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness, are hereby limited to 12 months from the date of purchase. Consequential or incidental damages resulting from a breach of any applicable express or implied warranties are hereby excluded. This warranty is in lieu of all other agreements and warranties, general or special, express or implied, and no representative or person, including a whitesand dealer, agent, or employee, is authorized to assume for us any other liability in connection with the sale or use of this whitesand product.

Whereas some states do not allow limitations on how long implied warranties last or do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.

  2. Items not covered: physical damage resulting from improper handling of the unit in transit from the factory by the shipper; defects caused by normal wear of the product (expendable parts are typically connectors, cables, potentiometers, switches, and similar components); damage or defects caused by abuse, neglect, accident, failure to connect or operate the unit in any way that does not comply with applicable technical or safety regulations, or improper, repair, excessive heat or humidity, alteration or unreasonable use of the unit, causing cracks, broken cases/housing or parts; damage caused by leaking batteries; finish or appearance items.
