Tips
- Leave enough empty space in the open end of the bag so that it can be placed in the vacuum chamber area without creating wrinkles or ripples.
- The presence of water or moisture at the open end of the bag, may cause the sealing process to fail. When sealing wet bags or bags with moist food, select the Moist program. The sealing process runs for longer, allowing the appliance to thoroughly seal the bags.
- Clean and straighten the open end of the bag before sealing. Make sure nothing is left in the open end of the bag, no wrinkle or creased lines should appear, foreign objects or creased bag may cause difficulty to seal tightly.
- Press the bag to allow extra air escape from it before vacuuming.
- Do not vacuum pack objects with sharp edges like fish bones or hard shells, as they may tear the bag. Use a container instead to store such foodstuff or pad the sharp edges with a paper towel.
- If the bag is not vacuumed sufficiently within 60 seconds, the appliance shuts off automatically. Check if there is a leak, if the cover is properly closed, or if a bag is placed correctly in the vacuum chamber.
- Make sure that the upper and lower gasket is clean and has no cracks or deformations.
- During bag vacuum packing, small amounts of liquids, crumbs or food particles can be pulled into the vacuum chamber, which may clog the pump and damage the appliance. To avoid this, freeze moist and juicy foodstuff, place a folded paper towel near the inside top of a bag. For powdery or fine-grained foodstuff, avoid overfilling a bag. Alternatively, place a coffee filter inside a bag before vacuum packing.
- Pre-freeze fruits and blanch vegetables before vacuum packing for best results.
- Liquids need to be cooled before vacuum packing.
- Store perishable foods In the freezer or refrigerator. Vacuum packing extend the shelf life of foods, but do not preserve them.
- Many foodstuff are sold pre-packed in commercial vacuum bags such as cheese and deli meats You can maintain the taste and freshness re-packaging them with the vacuum sealing bags after the commercially packed bags have been opened.
- Do not put the sealed bag directly Into a microwave oven or in hot water to heat up and cook the foodstuff. Cut the bag open before doing so. Risk of bag rupture and consecutive risk of burns.
- Do not vacuum package fresh fruits and vegetables e.g. apples, oranges, carrots, shelled raw peanuts etc. After being vacuum packed, they breath out nitrogen Inside the bag which may cause bad rupture and leakage. Cooked vegetables e.g. boiled carrots can be vacuum packed without an issue.
**NOTICE**
After finishing the vacuum sealing, keep the cover open until
the sealing element cools. Keeping the cover dosed may deform the foam gaskets
and sealing strip.
