WARNING
Please read the instruction carefully before installation. Please keep this instruction properly for unexpected needs Information is subject to change without notice.

PRECAUTIONS

WARNING
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for sediment reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts.
CAUTION

  • Ensure a reliable drainage system at the installation location.
  • Filter must be protected against freezing and far away from heat sources, which can cause cracking of the filter and water leakage.
  • The rubber o-ring provides the water-tight seal between the cap and the bottom of the housing. It is important that the o-ring be properly seated in the groove below the threads of the housing or a water leak could occur.
  • Because of the product’s limited service life and to prevent costly repairs or possible water damage, we strongly recommend to flush the SS filter mesh once every 1-6 months as the normal cleaning and maintenance process, and recommend that the bottom of all plastic housings be replaced every five years for clear and ten years for opaque. If the bottom of your housing has been in use for longer than this period, it should be replaced immediately. Date the bottom of any new or replacement housing to indicate the next recommended replacement date.
  • Clear housings may crack or craze in time causing failure and leakage if exposed to organic solvents such as those found in aerosol sprays for cleaning products and insecticides.
  • The company is not responsible for any damage to the filter, personal injury, property, or the environment caused by installation and setup. If you have any questions about this product, please contact hot-line.

NOTE

  • For cold water use only.
  • Do not install where system will be exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Make certain that installation complies with all state and local laws and regulations.
  • The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by the selected cartridge are not necessarily in your water. Ask your local water municipality for a copy of their water analysis, or have your water tested by a reputable water testing lab.
  •  After prolonged periods of non-use (such as during a vacation) it is recommended that the system be flushed thoroughly. Let water run for 5–6 minutes before using.
  • The functional filter cartridges (to be ordered separately) used with this system have a limited service life. Chanage in taste, odor, and /or flow of the water being filtered indicate that the cartridge shoud be replaced.
  • Some harmless bacteria may attack cellulose media cartridges. If your cartridge seems to disintegrate or develops musty or moldy odor, switch to a synthetic media cartridge or consult the manufacturer.
  • Please read all instructions, specifications, and precautions before installing and using this filter.
  • If you have ordered functional filter cartridge, tips that spent adsorption media will not be regenerated and used.
  • Considered if adsorption media is affected by chlorine, influent will need to be treated to remove chlorine.

3.3 Installation
NOTE

For installation galvanized, copper or plastic pipe. Style of fittings may vary from those shown, depending on type and size of pipe.
Use only plumber tape for fitting housing connections.
Install filter cartridge in filter housing according to hte filter cartridge replacement instructions (below) before proceeding with installation.
Install filter after water meter or pressure tank.
Numbered diagrams correspond with numbered steps.

  1. Turn off cold water supply and open nearest faucet (B) to release pressure in pipes before starting installation.
Assemble all fittings. Start adapters into cap by hand. Use a wrench to tighten firmly. Do not over-tighten.TECASA TWP100PW Spin Down Sediment Filter - water

OPERATION

4.1 Operation Instructions
Manual flushing operation instructionsTECASA TWP100PW Spin Down Sediment
Filter - Ball Valve Switch

  • After installation, open the main inlet valve and rinse it.
Step 1: perform pre flushing: After soaking in tap water for 90 minutes, the tap water passes through a 3/4” branch pipe and is filtered and rinsed for 2 hours at a pressure above 0.3MPa (which requires alternating operation of the sewage discharge action according to the instructions for 15 seconds, cycling every 30 minutes).
Step 2: After installing the new filter and following the steps shown in the diagram, drain and rinse it. After every 5 hours or more of shutdown, drain the water for 2 minutes before using it (the discharged water can be used for household cleaning and is not recommended for drinking). This operation is a cycle. Repeat the above 10 cycles, and after 10 cycles, drain the water to use normally.

  • Depending on the water quality in different regions, rinse at least once a month, and repeat the above sewage discharge steps 2-3 times per cycle.

  • This product has been in continuous use for 8-12 months and the filter creen must be cleaned (it is recommended to have professional maintenance personnel clean it).

  • During the normal cleaning and maintenance process, attention must be paid to protecting all components in good condition (original accessories must be used for maintenance).

When each sewage indicator light is flashing, if there is no other operation, the indicator light will flash for 3 times and remain on, indicating that the sewage cycle has been determined. ( Note: Continuously touching the “Set button” will cause the sewage cycle light to flash in sequence)
  • Flushing: Touch the “Flush button” once to immediately execute the flushing and sewage function. During the flushing and sewage discharge process, touch the ‘flushing button’ again to turn off the flushing.
  • Reset: Press and hold the “Set” button for 6 seconds to restart the program.

ALARM 2| Unable to turn on flushing, buzzer alarm, “7” and “15” two red cycle- lights blinking.
ALARM 3| Battery low level alarm, buzzer alarm, “7” red cycle-light blinking.

Alarm 1 will continue to alarm and the filter will not sleep. Alarm 2 and Alarm 3. If the alarm is not manually released, the filter will enter sleep.
When the filter is awakened the next time, the alarm status can still be seen.
Kind reminder: If battery applied, please replace 3 new batteries to clear the low level alarm.

4.3 Operation Instructions for Flushing and Blowdown

  • After installation, open the main inlet valve and observe if there is any water leakage. Connect the power supply and manually rinse it once for the first use.
  • Depending on the water quality in different regions, users can set the flushing cycle according to their actual usage situation.
  • Continuous use of this product for 8-12 months requires cleaning of the SS filter mesh. Users can also shorten the flushing cycle appropriately based on the accumulation of impurities in the filter bottle.
  • During cleaning and maintenance, attention should be paid to protecting all components in good condition.

4.4 Disassembly and assembly of SS filter mesh components (recommended for professional person)

  • Close the main water inlet valve and drain the remaining water in the filter bottle and pipeline. As shown in the figure, according to steps①②③④, use a ltifunctional wrench to unscrew the filter bottle in the direction of the arrow in Figure ②, and take out the filter element assembly.
  • Clean the impurities on the surface of the filter element assembly with a brush and clean water.
  • After cleaning, follow the steps ④③②① in reverse, put the filter element assembly back into the filter, and screw on the filter bottle. Then use a multi-function wrench to tighten the filter bottle in the opposite direction of the arrow in Figure ②.

NOTE

TROUBLESHOOTING

Leaks……between cap and bottom of filter housing:

  1. Turn off water supply and open a faucet closest to the system to release trapped air. Remove bottom of housing.
  2. Clean o-ring and o-ring groove (located directly beneath threads of housing). Lubricate o-ring with clean silicone grease and replace securely into groove. Screw bottom of housing onto cap and hand-tighten. Do not over-tighten.

… on inlet/outlet connections:

  1. Turn off water supply. For brass fittings, tighten nut snugly about half of a turn with a wrench.
  2. Turn on water supply. If leaks persist, or if there are other leaks on the system, turn off water supply.
