Meike MK-85mm Standard Medium Telephoto Prime Lens

MK 85mm f/1.8 is a medium-telephoto lens designed for medium and long range, and can provide clear image for daily shooting. The lens is easy to carry and its images are sharp and clear at any aperture. The band new MK 85mm f/1.8 uses the newest optical structure, making it able to achieve a large aperture of f/1.8 while maintaining miniaturization and lightweight. Multi-layer coating technology is used on both sides of the lens to restore more realistic colors. The lens is not easy to attach dust or stains, and can be easily wiped clean. Please read the instruction carefully to familiarize the proper ways to handle the lensbefore using. Please keep this instruction properly for your future reference.

  • Do not disassemble or repair the lens by yourself. Touching the inside of the lens may result in damage to the interior of the lens.
  • Please keep the small accessories away from children to prevent swallowing. Seek medical care immediately if inadvertently swallowed.
  • Do not watch the sun or bright light through the lens, which may lead to permanent visual impairment. When using the lens, do not hold the lens hood to avoid the accidental drop of the lens.
  • Do not clean the lens with thinner, benzene or any other active reagents.
  • Do not leave the lens in hot places, such as in a car with direct sunlight, which will damage or deform the plastic parts.

Product Overview

Lens Installation And Disassembly

Lens installation: Align the lens mounting mark on the lens with the lens mounting mark on the camera then rotate lightly, the installation would be done after you hear the ‘click’ sound. (Picture 1)

Lens disassembly: Press the release button on camera and then rotate the lens gently to remove it. (Picture 2)

  • After removing the lens, place the rear end of the lens face up to avoid scratching and electric shock.
  • If the surface of the electronic contact is stained, scratched or stained with fingerprints, it may cause corrosion or poor contact. The camera and the lens may not work properly, please wipe them with a soft cloth.
  • When the lens is removed, please install the lens cover in order to avoid dust on the lens.

Lens Hood Installation

  • Lens hood can reduce the influence of stray light and back light effectively, and prevent disturbance from rain, snow and ashes.

  • Lens hood installation: ① Align the hood mounting mark and (• ) lens hood mounting mark(), load the lens. (Picture 3)

    2 Rotate the hood clockwise, until the hood mounting marks match(o), align the lens hood mounting mark(• ), the hood is fixed after a ‘click’ sound. (Picture 4)

  • If the hood is installed improperly, part of the image may be blocked.

  • When installing or disassembling the hood, please hold the bottom of the hood and rotate, do not hold the edge part of it to prevent deforming.

  • The hood can be mounted reversely on the lens for keeping.

Focus Mode Selection

The hood can be mounted reversely on the lens for keeping. To use automatic focus mode (AF) for shooting, set the focus mode switch to the AF position. To use manual focus mode (MF) for shooting, set the focus mode switch to the MF position. (Picture 5)
Assembly Instruction
When using AF mode, if the focus ring is hindering rotation, it will cause serious damage to the internal mechanical parts of the lens. After auto- focusing in ONE SHOT AF mode, you can press halfway shutter button and turn the focus ring for manual focus. (Full-time manual focus).

Lens Features

The optical design of MK 85mm f/1.8 takes various features of the digital DSLR camera into account, but due to the different configurations of digital DSLR cameras, the focus may be slightly ahead or behind the best point in some cases when using AF even though the AF focus is within specifications. When shooting at the shortest range, it is recommended to draw the background in order to get a clear and bright picture quality.

  • Connect the USB of the product to PC, when it shows removable disk on PC, you can copy the latest firmware of MK-8518 to removable disk’.

Lens Preservation

  • Do not touch the surface of the lens. When the lens is in idle for a long time, keep the lens in a cool and dry place to prevent mildew and rust. Do not store the lens with mothballs or chemicals together.
  • The lens is equipped with a UV lens or a dedicated front protection lens that can filter UV light, prevent dust from falling directly on the surface of the lens, and prevent accidental bumps.
  • When there is dust on the lens, you can blow the dust off with the help of lens pen.
  • The lens is mounted with hood, which not only can prevent the lens from introducing too much light and UV light when shooting, but also can protect the lens  from serious damage when falling.
  • Dip Lens-cleaning paper or lens cloth in a few alcohols or lens cleaner, and wipe circularly from the center to the edge to clean the fingerprints and stains.
  • The interfaces of lens and the camera should not be touched, because dust, dirt or stain will cause bad connection of the camera and the lens.
  • The lens is not waterproof, please be careful when it rains or use the camera near water to prevent water from entering the camera. The electronic components may be damaged and may not be able to be repaired if water enters the lens.
  • When using the photographic equipment (camera and lens) in a sudden temperature change environment, please store the photographic equipment in a box or plastic bag for a period of time, so that the temperature of the equipment can undergo a gradual change, thereby reducing the functional failure caused by the temperature difference.
