Field Application Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer as the person to ask how to use and make the most of our products. The ideal candidate will understand customer demands and use cases quickly and is able to sketch a solution with our products immediately. This requires a wide knowledge of IoT setups, electronics, network communication and software on one side and a good perception of user’s pain point to solve. The area of applications will be mainly in industry (operations) and building automation.
You will be one of the main communicators of the company especially for technical topics, thus you will be perceived as an expert for a new technology, namely networked sensor communication via Single Pair Ethernet
Objectives
- Enhance the customer experience
- Improving product quality and usability
- Generating trust into the product
Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise professional users how to use our products in the best way in their use case
- Technical consultancy during project acquisition
- Demonstrate products and use on fairs or customer meetings
- Make workshops, webinars and tutorials
- Support professional customers in case of technical issues
- Create and improve support material
- User and Quick Start Guides
- Application Notes
- Setup and maintain issue database
- Test Products
- Do user acceptance tests
- Enhance product regression test plan
- Analyze sent back products
- Support sales and marketing
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of the product
- Accompany in customer meetings
- Back office sales tasks
- Give feedback to product management and development on user experience
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in cross disciplinary IoT projects
- excellent communication and presentation skills (German & English)
- ability to guide people
- master in explaining things, while adopting to user’s level of understanding
- generate a trustness
- good knowledge of / experience in
- IoT application development (on embedded real time OS as well as virtual linux containers)
- IP networking esp. IPv6, TLS, ZeroConf
- PCB level electronic design
- Production processes and mechanics
- willingness to support people
