INTRODUCTION
The 16A EVSE DSD Portable Charger is a device in charge of energy management
for charging electric vehicles.
The device has several modules, the first one is in charge of controlling the
relays that are connected to the electrical network that will feed the vehicle
and the control and monitoring system that will be in charge of managing the
load. These circuits will monitor the currents and voltages that circulate in
the system in order to guarantee operation within the recommended safety
parameters for charging electric vehicles.

Symbol Usage
Take special note of all information marked with the following symbols:

package, indicating that electrical and electronic equipment and its
accessories should be treated separately from ordinary household waste. When

Additional Safety Information
- When the charger connector is properly connected to the vehicle receptacle, the vehicle propulsion system is disabled. The output cable has a safety break-away feature in case the vehicle is moved or unintentionally rolls away from the parking location with the cable connected to the vehicle. The safety break-away feature will allow output cable separation from the Charging if the output cable is yanked or pulled with excessive force.
- The output cable should be coiled up on the hanger when not in use to minimize damage to the cable and eliminate the possibility of tripping.
CAUTIONS
ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN KILL.
Touching live electrical parts can cause fatal shocks or severe burns.
The input power circuitry and internal circuits are live whenever input power
is on.
- Do not step on the cable, do not pull it, do not fold it up and do not knot it.
- Do not drop the control unit or put heavy items on it.
- Do not place the charging cable near high-temperature objects.
- Do not use the device in extreme temperatures, normal operating range (-22°F to +122°F). Make sure that the charging plug, the cable and the control box are free from any signs of Scratches, rust, cracks, etc.
- Do not charge if the power outlet is damaged, rusted, cracked or loosely connected. Make sure the power plug and outlet are compatible before use.

SETTINGS – PORTAL SETUP
When the card is energized, it will create a red wireless call Mubon_xxxx where the x represent the last 4 digits of the MAC of the device, in the following image you can see where 5ca8 are the last characters of the MAC, the key is: “DeepSmile” without the quotation marks
- Then it will redirect you to the preferred search engine at the following address: http://192.168.4.1/, here it will load a page
- Here on this page we go down and it will allow you to load the SSID and password of the WiFi network that will be provided to the EVSE-WiFi card. In the following image, a network can be seen as an example and we can enter the data of the WiFi network
- You must enter the data and save the changes with the “Connect” button.
- At that moment the page will provide you with 2 links where you can see that the EVSE-WiFi card is connected to the internet
- After entering the Link http://mubon-5ca8/ you will see the following web page.
- With this you verify that the EVSE-WiFi card is connected to the internet and you will be able to use the functionalities of the charger
CHARGING YOUR VEHICLE
NOTE
- Ensure that the car is parked and the engine is turned OFF.
- Ensure the EV charger is not damaged before use.
- Ensure to finish Setting configuration (Step 5) before connecting the Charge coupler to your vehicle.

Insert the charging plug into an appropriate wall outlet. If your home voltage is Level 1 (120V), please connect and use the 5-20 adapter. If your home supports 240V, you can use Level 2 charging with 14-50 plug/outlet connection

When you plug the portable charger, you see the green light indicating that the charger is ready to be used.

Plug the Charge Coupler into your vehicle’s charging outlet until it clicks. Once latched, the Charge Coupler will not disengage until the release button has been pressed manually
- Plug connected : The yellow light indicates that the charger is connected to the vehicle, and is waiting for the car to enable the battery charging process.

Charging begins automatically. Power will be delivered in accordance to the demand of the vehicle. During charging, the Charging Indicator light on the LED display will blink continuously. You can also verify the vehicle charging status by checking your vehicle’s charging panel
“dashboard gague”. Refer to the vehicle owner’s manual to find the location of the gauge on your dashboard.- Charging : The blue light indicates that the EVSE is charging

When the vehicle is fully charged, the Charging Indicator light will stay solid. Your vehicle’s “dashboard gauge” can be used to verify that the vehicle is fully charged.

Disconnect the Charger when the charge is completed by pressing the release button on the Charge Coupler and removing it from the vehicle
TROUBLESHOOTING – INDICATOR LIGHTS
Error : The red light indicates that there is a problem that does not allow charging.
If the charger turns red when it is turned on, it means that the electrical network is not in a condition to be able to carry out the vehicle charging process. This can be due to:
- ground fault
- Overvoltage

If the light turns red during the charging process, it is because there is an
error while charging the vehicle. This may be due to:
- Problem connecting the charger with the vehicle
- overcurrent
- Battery heating
