- When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
- For additional protection,the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.

- When the appliance is connected to the power supply, never leave it unattended.
- Always place the appliance with the stand, if any, on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not use accessories or parts other then those provided with the appliance.
- Never wrap the supply cord around the appliance especially after use as this can damage the supply cord.

Before First Use
DANGER
Risk of suffocation!
Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are
a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.
- Remove all the packing materials.
- Remove and review all components before use.
- Check the appliance for transport damages.
Operation
Switching on/off
CAUTION Risk of burns!
- The heating plates (I) of the appliance are hot during use and while cooling down. Do not touch!
NOTICE
Take extra care when selecting the temperature to prevent hair damage. Select
the correct temperature setting for your hair type.

Rest the appliance on a heat-resistant,stable flat surface.

Connect the plug (F) to a socket outlet.

Slide the lock (B) to the position.
The heating plates (I) will be able to open and close freely now. -
Press( ) (H) to switch on the appliance.The power indicator (D) flashes. It then heats up automatically to reach the currently set temperature. Once the temperature has been reached, the power indicator (D) stops flashing.
NOTICE
If a temperature of up to 150 °C is set, the power indicator (D) flashes/lights up green. If a temperature of 180 °C or higher is set, the power indicator (D) flashes/lights up red. -
Rotate the temperature control (A) to the required temperature.
NOTICE
This appliance is equipped with automatic shut-off. This safety feature switches the appliance off after 60 minutes in case you accidentally leave it on after styling.

- Rest the appliance on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.
- Connect the plug (F) to a socket outlet.
- Set ON/OFF switch (H) to ON to switch on the appliance. The power indicator (D) flashes. It then heats up automatically to reach the currently set temperature. Once the temperature has been reached, the power indicator (D) stops flashing.
- Rotate the temperature control (A) to the required temperature.

Press U (H) to switch on the appliance.

The 190 °C temperature indicator (C) flashes. It then heats up automatically to reach that temperature. Once the temperature has been reached, the temperature indicator (C) stops flashing.

Press + / – (J) to select the required temperature.
NOTICE
This appliance is equipped with automatic shut-off. This safety feature
switches the appliance off after 120 minutes in case you accidentally leave it
on after styling.
Use
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
Do not touch scalp or skin with the heating plates (I).
NOTICE
When using the appliance on coloured hair, the heating plates (1) may stain.
NOTICE
Select a temperature setting suitable for the hair to be styled.
When using the appliance for the first time, select a low-temperature setting
first before increasing it.
- Clean and d ry/nearly dry your hair.
- Test a small section of hair before using the appliance on larger/exposed areas.
- Use a comb and take a section of hair not wider than 5 cm and not thicker than 1 cm.
- Carefully place the hair between the heating plates (I) of the appliance and close them.
- Slowly move the appliance down the length of the hair in a smooth, single motion (max. 5-10 seconds) from root to tip, without stopping to prevent overheating or damage to the hair.
- Repeat until the desired styling has been achieved.
- When finished and the hair has cooled, gently brush and comb hair into the desired style.
After Use

- Press (H) to switch off the appliance.
- Close the heating plates (l) and slide the lock (B) forward into the position.
- Disconnect the plug (F) from the socket outlet.
- Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface and allow to cool down.
- Clean the appliance and heating plates (I).

- Set ON/OFF switch (H) to OFF to switch off the appliance.
- Disconnect the plug (F) from the socket outlet.
- Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface or use the hanging loop (E) to hang the appliance and allow to cool down.
- Clean the appliance and heating plates (l).

- Press (H) to switch off the appliance.
- Disconnect the plug (F) from the socket outlet. The POWER indicator (D) goes off.
- Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface or use the hanging loop (E) to hang the appliance and allow to cool down.
- Clean the appliance and heating plates (I).
Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING Risk of electric shock!
- To prevent electric shock, unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- During cleaning do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.
Cleaning
- To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
- Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning. t Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the appliance.
Storage
- Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
- Never wrap the supply cord around the product especially after use as this can damage the power cord. Handle the power cord carefully and avoid jerking, twisting, or straining it, especially at plug connections.
Plug fuse replacement {for UK only)
- Use a flat screwdriver to open the fuse compartment cover.
- Remove the fuse and replace with the same type (13 A, BS 1362). Refit the cover.
Maintenance
- Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair centre.
