Safety instructions
Observe the recommended safety instructions and stipations from the vehicle manufacturer and service workshops.
WARNING Risk of death
Failure to obey these warnings will result in death or serious injury.
- The monitor does not release the driver from the duty of care while driving.
- The driver remains fully responsible for driving the vehicle, for fulfilling traffic safety obligations, and for complying with legal traffic safety regations.
- Ensure that the monitor does not interfere with visibility while driving.
WARNING Electrocution hazard
Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.

This monitor may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Inadequate repairs may cause serious hazards.

Do not use the device near water.
-
Do not open the monitor.
-
Do not operate the monitor if it is visibly damaged.

Always disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle’s electrical system before working on the monitor to prevent the risk of short circuits. If the vehicle has an additional battery, its negative terminal must also be disconnected.

When working on the following cables, only use insulated cable lugs, plugs, and tab sleeves:
30 (direct input from positive battery terminal)
15 (connected positive terminal, behind the battery)
31 (return cable from the battery, ground)
58 (reversing light)
Do not use porcelain wire connectors. -
Use a crimping tool to connect the cables.

Shen connecting cable 31 (ground) screw the cable in one of the following ways.
Screw on the cable using a cable lug and gear disc to one of the vehicle’s ground bolts.
Screw the cable to the sheet metal body work using a cable lug and a selftapping screw.
Ensure that there is a good ground connection. -
When disconnecting the battery, all data stored in all volatile memory will be lost. Data may be reset, depending on the vehicle equipment options. Follow the instructions of the respective vehicle manufacturer in this case.
WARNING Health hazard
Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.
- This monitor can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the monitor in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the monitor.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
WARNING Risk of injury
Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.
- Secure the monitor in such a way that it cannot become loose under any circumstances (sudden braking, accidents) and cause injuries to the occupants of the vehicle.
- Do not install the monitor anywhere in the vehicle where an airbag may open.
- Inadequate supply line connections can result in short circuits, causing:
Cable fires
The airbag being triggered
Damage to electronic control devices
Electrical malfunctions (turn signal, stop light, horn, ignition, lights)
CAUTION Risk of injury
Failure to obey these cautions could result in minor or moderate injury.
Lay the cables so that they cannot be tripped over or damaged.
NOTICE Damage hazard

Do not expose the monitor and the monitor cable to excessive heat or cold, water, moisture, dust, or smoke.

Do not use the monitor in direct sunlight, environments that are dusty or oily, have significant temperature fluctuations, high humidity, or poor ventilation.
-
Avoid strong vibrations, e.g., by dropping the monitor.
-
Do not reverse connection cable polarity.
-
Fasten the cables securely.
-
Do not pull on the cables.
-
Ensure that there is sufficient space on the other side for the drill head to emerge.
-
When working on the electrical system, the batteries must be separated from the vehicle ground. This applies to the main and additional batteries.
-
When making electrical connections, ensure the following:
They are not kinked or twisted.
They do not rub on edges.
They are not laid in sharpedged through-holes without protection. -
When testing the voltage in electrical cables, only use a diode test lamp or a voltmeter. Test lamps with a bulb consume too much voltage, which can damage the vehicle’s electronic system.

Insulate all connections.
-
Secure the cables against mechanical stress with cable binders or insulating tape, e.g., to existing lines.
-
Do not operate the monitor with wet hands.
-
The picture quality can be impaired in the vicinity of electromagnetic fields. Do not mount the monitor near loudspeakers.
Intended use
The monitor is intended for use in vehicles. The monitor is suitable for
monitoring vehicles and ships by connecting to cameras (e.g., reversing video
systems) and other video sources.
The monitor has been designed for commercial use.
The monitor is not intended to be installed outdoor.
This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in
accordance with these instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation
and/or operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operating
or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible
failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product
resulting from:
- Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
- Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer
- Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
- Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product specifications.
Installation
6.1.1 Installaction location
CAUTION Risk of injury
- Select the location of the monitor so that it cannot injure the vehicle passengers under any circumstances (e.g., sudden braking or traffic accidents).
- Never install the monitor in the airbag deployment path.
- The monitor must not impair the driver’s view while driving.
NOTICE Risk of overheating
Ensure that there is at least 2 cm space around the monitor.

Observe the following installation instructions:
- Select an installation location that provides an unobstructed view of the monitor.
- The installation location should be flat.
- Ensure that there is sufficient space underneath the installation location to attach the washers and nuts.
- If necessary, use reinforcement (larger washers or plates).

Place the monitor on the monitor bracket.
Figure 2 on page 2 -
Position the monitor with the attached monitor bracket provisionally.
-
Mark the outlines of the monitor bracket on the dashboard.
-
Remove the monitor from the monitor bracket.
6.1.2 Laying cables
NOTE If possible, use original ducts for laying the connection cable or other suitable options, such as ventilation grilles. If there are no existing ducts, a hole needs to be drilled into the dashboard.
- If necessary, drill a hole with a diameter of 17 mm through the dashboard near the desired installation location.
- Pull the monitor cable through the existing duct or the drill hole.
6.1.3 Mounting the monitor

Place the monitor bracket within the marked outlines.

Mark the drilling points.
-
Remove the monitor bracket.
-
Drill the holes, with a diameter of 2 mm, at each of the markings.
-
Remove the foil from under the monitor bracket (Figure 3, A).

Replace the monitor bracket to the marked outlines.

Screw the monitor bracket to the dashboard using 4 x 20 mm self-tapping screws (Figure 3 , B).
-
Place the monitor on the monitor bracket.
-
Secure the monitor with the knurled nuts.
6.1.4 Connecting the monitor electrically
NOTICE Damage hazard
- Only connect the monitor to the correct voltage.
- Install the cables and connections as specified to avoid malfunction, component failure, and to ensure continuous and proper operation of the connected accessories.
- Ensure that the cables have sufficient distance to vehicle parts that can get hot (lighting, heaters, fans, etc.).

6.1.5 Connecting the monitor as a reversing video system

Lay the monitor cable on the dashboard.
-
Insert the monitor cable plug (Figure 4,2) in the connection cable socket (Figure 4,3) of the connection cable (Figure 4,4).
NOTICE Damage hazard
Ensure that the polarity is correct when connecting to a voltage source. -
Connect the power cable (red) (Figure 4 ,9) to terminal 15 (ignition).
-
Connect the earth cable (black) (Figure 4 ,11) to terminal 31 (ground).
-
If the monitor is to be activated when the reverse gear is engaged, connect the trigger cable selected to activate the rear camera (Figure 4 ,10, 12, 13, 14) to the positive cable of the reversing light.
6.1.6 Connecting the split screen control cable
The connection of the Trigger5 control cable (Figure 4 , 15) activates the split screen.
Connect the Trigger5 control cable (yellow) to a 10 … 32 V voltage signal.
Operation
NOTICE Damage hazard
Do not apply strong pressure when operating the touchscreen.
NOTE
- Ensure that the engine is running during operation to prevent discharge of the vehicle battery.
- The monitor buttons, exceped for the button, light up blue when they are pressed. The light switches off if the buttons are not used for a few seconds.
7.1 Switching on the monitor
NOTE The monitor is automatically activated when the monitor is
connected to the power supply. When the touchscreen does not display an image,
the monitor is in standby.
> Press the button or swipe up on the touch- screen.
∨ The button lights up green. If the monitor is connected to the vehicle
battery, the previous screen configuration selected is displayed. If the
monitor is connected to the ignition, the System menu is displayed.
7.2 Switching the monitor to standby
> Press the button or swipe up on the touchscreen.
∨ The button lights up red. The touchscreen switches off.
7.3 Moving through and adjusting settings
NOTE Which buttons can be used for moving the selection and confirm a
selection depends on the screen that is displayed.
Method 1
The method 1 must be used if no control bars or – and + buttons are
displayed.
> Press the – or + button to move the cursor.
> Press the button to confirm the selection.
> Tap the corresponding button on the touchscreen to be set.
Method 2
The method 2 must be used if control bars or – and + buttons are
displayed.
> Press the button to move the cursor.
> Press the – or + button to adjust the selected settings.
> Tap the button of the setting that shall be adjusted.
> If present, press and drag the control bar to the left or right.
7.4 Exiting the settings
The displayed settings/menu can be exited to display the previous screen. If
the settings or a menu are open and the monitor is not operated for several
seconds, the settings/menu close automatically.
> Press the M button.
> If present, tap the button on the touchscreen.
7.5 Using the main menu
Displaying/hiding the main menu
> Press the M button.
> Tap on the lower part of the touchscreen to display the main menu.
> Tap on the middle or upper part of the touchscreen to hide the main
menu.
Selecting menu items
> Open the menu items as described in Method 1.
7.6 Setting the volume
> Press the button (see Using the main menu)
∨ The volume control bar is displayed.
Decreasing the volume
> Press the – button.
> Tap and drag the volume controller to the left.
Increasing the volume
> Press the + button.
> Tap and drag the volume controller to the right.
Muting the monitor sound
> Press the button.
> Tap the icon next to the control bar.
> Tap and drag the volume controller to the left to mute the monitor
sound.
> Tap and drag the volume controller to the right to increase the monitor
sound.
7.7 Adjusting the brightness
> Press the button (see Using the main menu).
∨ If no automatic scan is activated, one control bar appears. If the
automatic scan is activated, 2 control bars appear.
Brighting the monitor
> Press the + button.
> Tap and drag the brightness controllers to the right.
Dimming the monitor
> Press the – button.
> Tap and drag the brightness controllers to the left.
7.8 Setting the camera mode

Press the button (see Using the main menu).
∨ A window showing the camera modes is displayed. -
Select a camera mode (see Method 1).
7.9 Using the main settings
-
Press the button (see Using the main menu).
∨ The main settings are displayed. -
Open the desired settings (see Method 1).
Exiting the main settings
> Tap the background or proceed as described in Exiting the settings.
7.10 Setting the language
The language in the menu is English by default.

Press the button (see Using the main set tings).
The languages to be set are displayed. -
Proceed as described in chapter Method 1.
7.11 Making further settings
The monitor is equipped with further functions and settings that can be
customized. For detailed information see the webhelp (Related documents).
Disposal
**** Recycling products with non-replaceable batteries, rechargeable batteries or light sources:
- If the product contains any nonreplaceable batteries, rechargeable batteries or light sources, you don’t have to remove them before disposal.
- If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.
- The product can be disposed free of charge.
