Functions and Settings

To use the Erbauer 20m Cross Line Laser, follow these steps:

1. Place the laser on a solid, flat, and vibration-free surface.
2. Set the pendulum movement lock button to the manual mode.
3. For manual mode, the laser will blink every 3 seconds.

Maintenance

If you encounter any issues with the Erbauer 20m Cross Line Laser, refer to the following table for possible solutions:

Laser beams are not easily visible within the operating

Battery Replacement

To replace the batteries in the Erbauer 20m Cross Line Laser:

• DO NOT remove or destroy any label appearing on this instrument.
• DO NOT stare directly at the laser beam, as this can cause blindness. Only turn the laser ON when being used.
• DO NOT place the tool in a position that may cause anyone to stare at the laser beam, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and ensure bystanders are aware of the dangers.
• DO NOT point the laser beam emitted by the instrument at people or animals.
• DO NOT point the laser onto shiny or reflective surfaces such as glass or polished metals, as this could reflect the beam back at the operator or passes by.
• DO NOT attempt to modify the performance of this laser device in any way. This may result in a dangerous exposure to laser radiation.
• DO NOT attempt to repair or disassemble the laser measuring tool. Any repair required on this laser product should be performed only by qualified service personnel.
• Only use accessories that have been designed for use with this laser. The use of accessories designed for other laser products could result in serious injury.
• DO NOT place or store the product in extreme temperatures.
• DO NOT operate the tool in explosive environments, such as in the presence of flammable gasses or dusts. Any sparks created by the tool could ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep the tool away from cardiac pacemakers. The magnet inside the tool generates a magnetic field that can impair the function of cardiac pacemakers.
• Keep the tool away from magnetic data storage media and magnetically sensitive equipment. The effect of the magnet could lead to permanent data loss.
• Measurements may not be accurate if used beyond the rated range of the device.
• The use of optical instruments with this product will increase eye hazard.

• DO NOT use laser viewing glasses as safety goggles. They make seeing the laser easier, they do not protect you against laser radiation or any form of impact.

• ALWAYS select the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use. Information provided with the equipment to assist correct battery selection should be retained for reference.
• Replace all batteries of a set at the same time.
• Ensure that the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and –).

• Remove exhausted batteries promptly.

• This product is intended to be used to project laser lines to aid professional users in various applications. It has been designed primarily for indoor use and can project vertical and horizontal beams. Example applications include installations such as kitchens, doors, windows, ceilings, stairs etc or tasks such as hanging wallpaper, installing shelves etc.
• It is not recommended to use the product in wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or gas.
• It should be kept out of reach of children and animals. Supervision is required when the product is being used by inexperienced users.

Battery replacement

To install batteries:

1. Lift up the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert four fresh AA batteries in the compartment, placing the batteries according to (+) and (–) on the inside of the compartment.
3. Close battery compartment cover.

WARNING: Batteries can explode, or leak and can cause injury or fire. To reduce this risk carefully follows all the following precautions:

• Carefully follow all instructions and warnings on the battery instructions
• Always turn off the instrument before replacing batteries
• Always use batteries of the same brand, type and age
• Make sure batteries are installed in the correct polarity (+ and –), marked on the battery and the equipment
• Do not short battery terminals
• Do not charge disposable batteries
• Remove dead batteries immediately and dispose of per local requirements
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire
• Keep batteries out of reach of children
• Please take out the batteries when the device is not in use, as batteries might corrode and discharge themselves

Mounting options

1. Use the magnetic wall mount to fix the laser to a wall or metallic structures or similar. Turn the laser 360° with fine adjustment.
2. Use Tripod (not included), Tripod mount is M6.
3. Use the magnetic wall clamp attached to the multi function back clip.

Turning the laser ON/OFF

1. Place the cross laser on a solid flat vibration free surface.
2. Turn on laser: Press on/off button to turn on the laser tool.
3. Turn off laser: Press on/off button for ≥ 5 seconds.

WARNING

• Avoid direct eye exposure. When turning on the tool, do not stare into the laser beam or direct it towards any people.

Self-leveling mode

Under self-levelling mode the laser tool will level itself in a ± 4° range and could project a horizontal 360° rotating laser beam, a vertical beam or cross beams simultaneously including one horizontal and two vertical beams.

1. Place the laser on a solid, flat, level, vibration free surface.
2. Move the pendulum lock to the UNLOCKED position. The laser will self-level within 4 seconds.
3. Push the on/off button the appropriate number of times to choose the beams that you want to work with.
   • x1 One horizontal 360° rotating laser beam
   • x2 One horizontal 360° rotating laser beam and one vertical laser beam
   • x3 Cross beams simultaneously include one horizontal and two vertical beams.

NOTE

• If the initial level of the cross laser is beyond ±4° and the self-levelling mode is activated, the laser beams will flash.
• In this case, please reposition the laser onto a level surface.

Manual mode

Under manual mode, the cross lasers self-levelling mechanism is disabled and the laser lines can be set at any angle required.

1. Place the laser on a solid, flat, level, vibration free surface.
2. Move the pendulum lock to the LOCKED position
3. Push the on/off button the appropriate number of times to choose the beams that you want to work with.
   • x1 One horizontal 360° rotating laser beam
   • x2 One horizontal 360° rotating laser beam and one vertical laser beam
   • x3 Cross beams simultaneously include one horizontal and two vertical beams.
4. Position the laser and adjust to the required angle and height.

***** The laser will blink every 3s in manual mode.

Maintenance

This laser measuring tool is designed to be a low-maintenance tool. In order to maintain its performance, you must always follow these simple directions:

• Avoid exposing the tool to shock, continuous vibration or extreme hot or cold environments.
• Always store the tool indoors.
• Always keep the tool free of dust and liquids. Use only a clean soft cloth for cleaning. If necessary, slightly moisten the cloth with pure alcohol or a little water.
• Do not disassemble the laser measuring tool; this will expose the user to hazardous radiation exposure.
• Do not attempt to change any part of the laser lens.
• We recommend getting the laser level calibrated every 12 months by a recognised calibration house

Troubleshooting

Move the tool closer to be within the rated operating range
The laser does not turn on| No batteries installed or batteries are depleted.| Make sure AA batteries are installed correctly according to (+) and (–) on the inside of the compartment. Or replace with new batteries.
Laser line flashing| ****

The tilt range has been exceeded or the tool is working under manual mode

| The laser tool has been designed to  self-level up to an average of ± 4°.

Please try repositioning the laser on a more level surface if it is working under self-levelling mode. If the tool is in manual mode but self levelling required unlock the pendulum.
