Installation

Installation position

  1. The water heater should be installed near a power socket and where there is access to water supply and drainage. Do not install the water heater in places where water discharge is not possible.
  2. During installation, both the water inlet and outlet pipes must be at the bottom of the water heater. The water heater cannot be installed vertically.
  3. The mounting wall for the water heater must be firm and solid, and able to bear at least twice (2 times) the total combined weight of the water heater and the filled water within.

Installation of water heater body

  1. Drill two (2) holes of 12mm diameter into the wall. The two holes must be along the same horizontal line as shown in Fig. 3.
  2. Insert an expansion bolt into the hole and tighten the hook. Ensure that the hook faces upwards.
  3. Lift the water heater and place it to rest firmly on the hooks.
  4. Tapping screws are used to fasten the decorating strip in place. Electrolux-EWS30BEX-DW1-Electric-Storage-Water-Heater-FIG- \(9\)

Water pipe connection

  1. Seal the water discharge pipe of the water heater with a plug and gasket to prevent water leakage after installation.
  2. Screw in the safety valve at the water inlet pipe. The pressure relief port of the safety valve should point downwards. The safety valve can only be installed at the water inlet pipe of the water heater.
  3. If the electric water heater is used with a mixing valve, install the filter at the water inlet. Then connect to the safety valve. After that, connect one end of the water mixing valve to the water outlet pipe of the water heater and the other end to the water inlet of the safety valve. Connect the spray nozzle via the hose to the outlet of the water mixing valve. Finally, connect the tap water to the water inlet of the water mixing valve (Fig. 5A).
  4. To fill with water, first turn on the discharging tap behind the water outlet pipe of the water heater (rotate the handle to a high-temperature position if a water mixing valve is installed). Then turn on the water inlet valve. The water will begin to fill the water heater. When water begins to come out from the discharging tap, this means that the water heater is filled. Turn off the water discharging tap (or rotate the handle of the water mixing valve to the closed position). Ensure that each connection is well sealed to prevent water leakage.
  5. If the water heater is used with a centralized water supply, determine the place that requires hot water and connect the water outlet pipe and tap water inlet as shown in Fig. 5B.

The connecting cable must also conform to rated current requirements. The metal pin of the plugs should be regularly cleaned to prevent fire or other hazards caused by dirt. If the water heater has a power of 1500W, it may use a power socket rated 1 ON220V.
  3. The outlet socket must have a reliable earth wire. It is recommended that an electric leakage switch (fuse) be installed within its circuit.

Warning:

  1. Do not use any electrical apparatus that has damaged wiring, loose sockets, or plugs to avoid electric shocks, short circuits, or fire hazards. Check that the plug is firmly attached to the power socket.
  2. Check that the plug of the water heater is not near any wet areas or prone to water sprays. Do not unplug when hands are wet to avoid electric shocks.
  3. Do not turn on the power supply to the water heater until the heater is filled with water. This is to prevent dry burning.
  4. The discharging point of the safety valve should be we/I-ventilated. During heating of water, the water inlet valve must be tum on to prevent cracking of the inner tank.

Operation

  1. Power on
Before turning on the power supply, check to make sure that the water heater is filled with water. The water inlet valve must be turned on during normal operation. When it is confirmed that the water heater is filled with water, connect the plug to the outlet socket. The ECLB indicator light (green) will light up to show that power is supplied. Press the test button to automatically turn off the power supply and the ELCB indicator light (green) will go off. Press the reset button again and the ELCB indicator light (green) will come on again. The water heater is now in normal operation mode.

To set the water temperature, turn the temperature control knob until the power indicator light (red) is on. This means that the water is heating up. Then rotate the knob to your desired position, the water temperature can be freely adjusted within its temperature range.

  3. Automatic temperature regulation control
When the water temperature reaches a preset value, the power indicator light (red) will go off. The light will turn on again when the water temperature goes below the preset value.

  4. Excessive temperature and dry burning protection
If the automatic temperature regulator control is not functioning properly, the excessive temperature device will immediately cut the power supply to the electrical heating element. Please contact your local service agent to rectify the problem.

  5. Excessive pressure protection
When the pressure inside the water heater is more than the rated pressure of its inner tank, (0.8 Mpa / 8 Bar) a safety valve will relieve the pressure automatically.

  6. Hot water application
To use hot water, turn on the cold water valve and slowly rotate the water mixing valve to let cold water flow out first. As the water mixing valve is gradually turned up, the water temperature will increase to the required temperature setting. Finally, turn off the cold water valve to prevent scalding.

  7. Long-term usage
If the water heater is unlikely to be used for a long period, unplug the heater from the power outlet socket.

  8. Power optional operation (multi-power series function)
