ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into an earthed outlet.
Do not remove earth prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.
Voltage: 220-240 A.C.
Frequency: 50-60 Hz
Power:
315 W for model 5KPM5
500 W for models 5KSM7580X, 5KSM7591X
NOTE: The power rating for your Stand Mixer is printed on the trim brand or on the serial plate.
Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance.
The wattage rating is determined by using the attachment that draws the greatest load (power). Other recommended attachments may draw significantly less power.

SPEED CONTROL GUIDE

All speeds have a feature that automatically starts the Stand Mixer at a lower speed to help avoid ingredient splash-out and “flour puff” at start-up, then quickly increases to the selected speed for optimal performance.
NOTE: This feature is available only for 5KSM7580X and 5KSM7591X.

SPEED USED FOR ACCESSORIES
1 Stirring Flat Beater
2 Slow Mixing, Kneading Flat Beater and Spiral Dough Hook
4 Mixing, Beating Flat Beater and Wire Whip
6 Beating, Creaming
8–10 Fast Beating, Whipping, Fast Whipping Wire Whip

NOTE: Use speed 2 to mix or knead yeast doughs. Use of any other speed creates high potential for Stand Mixer failure. The Dough Hook efficiently kneads most yeast dough within 4 minutes.

PRODUCT ASSEMBLY

  1. Turn the Stand Mixer to “0” (OFF) and then unplug.
  2. Place Bowl-Lift Lever in down position.
  3. To attach the Bowl: Place Bowl-Lift Lever in down position. Fit Bowl Supports over Locating Pins. Press down on back of Bowl until bowl pin snaps into spring latch.
  4. To attach the accessory: Slip the accessory on the shaft and press upward as far as possible. Turn accessory clockwise, hooking it over the pin on the shaft.
  5. To raise the Bowl: Rotate lever to straight-up position. Bowl must always be in raised, locked position when mixing.

PRODUCT USAGE

BEATER TO BOWL CLEARANCE
Your Stand Mixer is adjusted at the factory so the Flat Beater just clears the bottom of the Bowl. If, for any reason, the Flat Beater hits the bottom of the Bowl or is too far away from the Bowl, you can correct clearance easily.

  1. Turn the Stand Mixer to “0” (OFF) and unplug.

  2. Place Bowl-Lift Lever in down position.

  3. Locate the screw revealed when the Bowl is lowered.
NOTE: Do not adjust the screw located on the spring latch.

  4. Adjust so Flat Beater just clears bottom surface of Bowl when in lifted position by turning screw counterclockwise to raise the Bowl and clockwise to lower the Bowl. Just a slight turn is all that is required: the screw will not rotate more than 1/4 turn (90 degrees) in either direction. (The full range of adjustment is 1/2 turn, or 180 degrees.)

NOTE: When properly adjusted, the Flat Beater will not strike on the bottom or side of the Bowl. If the Flat Beater or the Wire Whip is so close that it strikes the bottom of the Bowl, the Beater or Whip may wear.
OPERATING THE SPEED CONTROL
WARNING

Do not remove earth prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.

    WARNING
    Injury Hazard

Failure to do so can result in broken bones, cuts, or bruises.

  2. Do not scrape the Bowl while operating. Scraping the Bowl once or twice during mixing is usually sufficient.
