Chapter 1: Getting started

Welcome!

Thank you for choosing the ASUS Desktop PC. This user guide will
help you get started with your computer.

Getting to know your computer

Before setting up your computer, it’s important to familiarize
yourself with its various components and ports. Refer to the user
manual for detailed information on the different parts of your ASUS
Desktop PC.

Setting up your computer

Follow these steps to set up your ASUS Desktop PC:

1. Unpack the computer and all included accessories.

2. Connect the power cord to the computer and plug it into a power
   outlet.

3. Connect the keyboard and mouse to the appropriate ports on the
   computer.

4. If using an external display, connect it to the computer using
   the provided cables.

5. Connect any other desired devices, such as a USB storage device
   or speakers, to the available ports.

6. Once all connections are made, press the power button to turn
   on the computer.

Turning your computer ON

To turn on your ASUS Desktop PC, press the power button located
on the front or top of the computer case. The power indicator light
should illuminate, indicating that the computer is powered on.

Enabling fast startup

Fast startup allows your computer to boot up more quickly. To
enable fast startup, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Start menu and select “Settings”.

2. In the Settings window, click on “System”.

3. Click on “Power & sleep” in the left sidebar.

4. Scroll down and click on “Additional power settings”.

5. In the Power Options window, click on “Choose what the power
   buttons do” in the left sidebar.

6. Click on “Change settings that are currently unavailable”.

7. Check the box next to “Turn on fast startup
   (recommended)”.

8. Click on “Save changes”.

Chapter 2: Connecting devices to your computer

Connecting a USB storage device

To connect a USB storage device to your ASUS Desktop PC, follow
these steps:

1. Locate an available USB port on the front or back of the
   computer case.

2. Insert the USB connector into the USB port.

3. Your computer should recognize the USB storage device and it
   will be ready for use.

Connecting microphone and speakers

To connect a microphone and speakers to your ASUS Desktop PC,
follow these steps:

1. Locate the audio input and output ports on the front or back of
   the computer case.

2. Connect the microphone to the audio input port.

3. Connect the speakers to the audio output port.

4. Adjust the volume settings on your computer as needed.

Changing to the external audio output

If you want to use external speakers or headphones instead of
the built-in speakers, follow these steps:

1. Click on the speaker icon in the taskbar.
2. Select the desired audio output device from the list.

Connecting multiple external displays

If you want to connect multiple external displays to your ASUS
Desktop PC, follow these steps:

1. Ensure that your computer has the necessary graphics ports to
   support multiple displays.

2. Connect each display to a separate graphics port on your
   computer using the appropriate cables.

3. Adjust the display settings on your computer to extend or
   duplicate the desktop across multiple displays.

Connecting an HDTV

To connect your ASUS Desktop PC to an HDTV, follow these
steps:

1. Locate an available HDMI port on your computer and HDTV.

2. Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your
   computer.

3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on
   your HDTV.

4. Switch the input source on your HDTV to the appropriate HDMI
   input.

Chapter 3: Using your computer

Proper posture when using your Desktop PC

When using your ASUS Desktop PC, it’s important to maintain a
proper posture to prevent discomfort or injury. Follow these
guidelines:

• Sit up straight with your back against the chair.

• Position the monitor at eye level to avoid straining your
  neck.

• Keep your wrists straight and supported by using a wrist
  rest.

• Use an ergonomic keyboard and mouse to minimize strain on your
  hands and wrists.

Using the memory card reader (Optional)

If your ASUS Desktop PC is equipped with a memory card reader,
follow these steps to use it:

1. Insert the memory card into the appropriate slot on the memory
   card reader.

2. Your computer should recognize the memory card, and you can
   access its contents through File Explorer.

Using the optical drive (Optional)

If your ASUS Desktop PC is equipped with an optical drive,
follow these steps to use it:

1. Press the eject button on the optical drive to open the
   tray.

2. Place the disc on the tray, with the label facing up.

3. Push the tray back into the optical drive until it clicks into
   place.

4. Your computer should recognize the disc, and you can access its
   contents through File Explorer or a compatible media player.

Configuring the USB ports using the BIOS

To configure the USB ports on your ASUS Desktop PC using the
BIOS, follow these steps:

1. Restart your computer and press the designated key to enter the
   BIOS setup (usually Del or F2).

2. Navigate to the “Advanced” or “Integrated Peripherals”
   section.

3. Locate the USB port configuration options.

4. Adjust the settings as desired (e.g., enable/disable USB ports,
   change USB mode).

5. Save the changes and exit the BIOS setup.

Configuring the HDD security setting using the BIOS

If you want to configure the HDD security setting on your ASUS
Desktop PC, follow these steps:

1. Restart your computer and press the designated key to enter the
   BIOS setup (usually Del or F2).

2. Navigate to the “Security” or “Hard Drive” section.

3. Locate the HDD security setting options.

4. Enable or disable HDD security as desired.

5. Set a password for HDD security if required.

6. Save the changes and exit the BIOS setup.

Chapter 4: Connecting to the Internet

Wired connection

To connect your ASUS Desktop PC to the Internet using a wired
connection, follow these steps:

1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on
   your computer.

2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a modem, router,
   or network switch.

3. Your computer should automatically detect and connect to the
   wired network.

Installing the Wi-Fi antenna

If your ASUS Desktop PC supports Wi-Fi connectivity and comes
with a Wi-Fi antenna, follow these steps to install it:

1. Locate the Wi-Fi antenna connectors on the back of your
   computer case.

2. Screw the Wi-Fi antenna into one of the connectors until it is
   securely attached.

3. Position the Wi-Fi antenna for optimal signal reception.

Chapter 5: Using ASUS Business Manager

ASUS Business Manager

ASUS Business Manager is a software tool designed to optimize
and manage your ASUS Desktop PC for business use. Refer to the user
manual or ASUS website for detailed information on using ASUS
Business Manager.

Chapter 6: Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your ASUS Desktop PC, refer to
the troubleshooting section of the user manual for possible
solutions. You can also visit the ASUS support website for
additional support and resources.

Appendix

Starting for the first time

When starting your ASUS Desktop PC for the first time, follow
these steps:

1. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup
   process.

Safety information
Disconnect the AC power and peripherals before cleaning. Wipe the Desktop PC using a clean cellulose sponge or chamois cloth dampened with solution of nonabrasive detergent and a few drops of warm water then remove any extra moisture with a dry cloth.
· DO NOT place on uneven or unstable work surfaces. Seek servicing if the casing has been damaged.
· DO NOT expose to dirty or dusty environments. DO NOT operate during a gas leak. · DO NOT place or drop objects on top and do not shove any foreign objects into the Desktop
PC. · DO NOT expose to strong magnetic or electrical fields. · DO NOT expose to or use near liquids, rain, or moisture. DO NOT use the modem during
electrical storms. · Battery safety warning: DO NOT throw the battery in fire. DO NOT short circuit the contacts.
DO NOT disassemble the battery. · Use this product in environments with ambient temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 40°C
(104°F). · DO NOT cover the vents on the Desktop PC to prevent the system from getting overheated. · DO NOT use damaged power cords, accessories, or other peripherals. · To prevent electrical shock hazard, disconnect the power cable from the electrical outlet

Installing a graphics card in your computer
To install a graphics card in your computer:
1. Turn off your computer.
2. Unplug all cables from your computer.
3. Open your computer case and locate PCIEX16_1 slot if you are installing the first or the primary graphics card.
4. Align the notch on your graphics card with the key of the slot, and then insert the card into the slot.

5. The ejector will snap back into place automatically.

Setting up your computer
This section guides you through connecting the main hardware devices, such as the external monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power cord, to your computer.
Connecting an external monitor Using the onboard display output ports
Connect your monitor to the onboard display output port.
To connect an external monitor using the onboard display output ports: 1. Connect a monitor to a display on the rear panel of your computer. 2. Plug the monitor to a power source.

· If your computer comes with an ASUS Graphics Card, the graphics card is set as the primary display device in the BIOS. Hence, connect your monitor to a display output port on the graphics card.
· To connect multiple external monitors to your computer, refer to Connecting multiple external displays in Chapter 2 of this guide for details.

Enabling fast startup
You can shut down the computer with fast startup enabled. To enable fast startup in Shutdown settings: Enter Control Panel in the search bar and open it (View by: Category), select Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Choose what the power button does, click Change settings that are currently unavailable, check Turn on fast startup (recommended) and click Save changes.
If fast startup is disabled, when you shut down the computer, it shuts down to the S5 power state.

Connecting a USB storage device
This desktop PC provides USB 3.2 Gen 1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1 + USB Type-C® (optional) and USB 2.0 ports on the front and rear panels. The USB ports allow you to connect USB devices such as storage devices.
To connect a USB storage device:
· Insert the USB storage device to your computer.
You can enable or disable the front and rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1 + USB Type-C® (optional) and USB 2.0 ports individually from the BIOS Setup. Refer to the Configuring the USB ports using the BIOS section in Chapter 3 of this user manual for details.

Connecting microphone and speakers
This desktop PC comes with microphone ports and speaker ports on both the front and rear panels. The audio I/O ports located on the rear panel allow you to connect 2-channel, 4-channel, 5.1-channel, and 7.1-channel stereo speakers.
· When your Desktop PC comes with an internal speaker, the audio output will be from the internal speaker.
· When you connect an external audio device such as earphone or speaker, you need to enable the audio device output. For details, refer to the section Changing to the external audio output.
· When you disconnect the audio device, you need to manually change the audio output to the internal speaker from the Control Panel.

Changing to the external audio output
When you connect an external audio device to your Desktop PC, enable the audio device output to ensure a clear audio quality.
To change to the external audio output: Connect an external audio device such as earphone or speaker to the rear Line Out port. The Audio Manager screen automatically pops up.
For the location of the rear Line Out port, refer to the section Getting to know your computer.

Connecting multiple external displays
Your desktop PC may come with VGA, HDMITM, or DVI ports and allows you to connect multiple external displays.
Setting up multiple displays
When using multiple monitors, you are allowed to set display modes. You can use the additional monitor as a duplicate of your main display, or as an extension to enlarge your Windows desktop. To set up multiple displays: 1. Turn off your computer. 2. Connect the two monitors to your computer and connect the power cords to the monitors.
Refer to Setting up your computer section in Chapter 1 for details on how to connect a monitor to your computer.
3. Turn on your computer. 4. From the Start menu, click Settings > System > Display. 5. Configure the settings for your displays.
For some graphics cards, only the monitor that is set to be the primary display has display during POST. The dual display function works only under Windows.

Using your computer
Proper posture when using your Desktop PC
When using your Desktop PC, maintaining the proper posture is necessary to prevent strain to your wrists, hands, and other joints or muscles. This section provides you with tips on avoiding physical discomfort and possible injury while using and fully enjoying your Desktop PC.

To maintain the proper posture:
· Position your computer chair to make sure that your elbows are at or slightly above the keyboard to get a comfortable typing position.
· Adjust the height of your chair to make sure that your knees are slightly higher than your hips to relax the backs of your thighs. If necessary, use a footrest to raise the level of your knees.
· Adjust the back of your chair so that the base of your spine is firmly supported and angled slightly backward.
· Sit upright with your knees, elbows and hips at an approximately 90º angle when you are at the PC.
· Place the monitor directly in front of you, and turn the top of the monitor screen even with your eye level so that your eyes look slightly downward.
· Keep the mouse close to the keyboard, and if necessary, use a wrist rest for support to reduce the pressure on your wrists while typing.
· Use your Desktop PC in a comfortably-lit area, and keep it away from sources of glare such as windows and straight sunlight.
· Take regular mini-breaks from using your Desktop PC.

Using the memory card reader (Optional)
Digital cameras and other digital imaging devices use memory cards to store digital picture or media files. The built-in memory card reader on the front panel of your system allows you to read from and write to different memory card drives.
To use the memory card: 1. Insert the memory card into the card slot.
· A memory card is keyed so that it fits in only one direction. DO NOT force a card into a slot to avoid damaging the card.
· You can place media in one or more of the card slots and use each media independently. Place only one memory card in a slot at one time.
2. Select a program from the AutoPlay window to access your files.
· If AutoPlay is NOT enabled in your computer, click File Explorer from the Start menu, and then double-click the memory card icon to access the data on it.
· Each card slot has its own drive icon which is displayed on the File Explorer screen.
3. When finished, right-click the memory card drive icon on the Computer screen, click Eject, and then remove the card.
Never remove cards while or immediately after reading, copying, formatting, or deleting data on the card or else data loss may occur.
To prevent data loss, use “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” in the Windows® notification area before removing the memory card.

Inserting an optical disc To insert an optical disc: 1. While your system is on, press the eject button on the drive bay cover to open the tray. 2. Place the disc on the optical drive with the label side outward if the desktop is positioned

If AutoPlay is NOT enabled in your computer, to access the data on an optical disc: · Click File Explorer from the Start menu, and then double-click the CD/DVD drive icon.
Removing an optical disc To remove an optical disc: 1. While the system is on, do either of the following to eject the tray:
