Remove the intercooler from engine. This process will vary slightly depending on the vehicle and the type of aftermarket parts installed.
- 2015+WRX models need to remove the plastic engine cover, (2) hose clamps, and (2) M8 bolts securing the intercooler to brackets.
- 2015+ STI models need to remove (2) hose clamps, (2) M8 Bolts and unplug crank case vent hoses.
Remove the wire harness from the clutch line bracket. Remove the 12mm bolt
securing the clutch line bracket to the firewall. Remove the clutch line from
the clutch master cylinder with a 10mm flare nut wrench. Use a 14mm wrench to
remove the clutch line from the clutch slave cylinder. Use pinch pliers on the
rubber hose going to the master cylinder to minimize fluid leak.
Install the provided master cylinder adapter. Install the 90º end of the new
clutch line. Secure the banjo fitting end to the clutch slave cylinder.
Tighten all fittings and secure with the provided zip ties.
You must now properly bleed the clutch lines using a proper vacuum bleeder. If
you do not have access to a vacuum bleeder, you can bleed the system with the
help of a friend and clear tubing. Search online for tutorial videos. Make
sure this is done very thoroughly.
Remove the wire harness on the right side of the firewall and locate the two holes. These exposed holes are where you will install the provided M6 rivet nuts.
Install the provided rivet nuts, using the above images as a reference on how
to assemble the rivet nut, M6 bolt and washers. Use the provided rivet tool.
You will feel some resistance at first before it gets easier to tighten.
Once the rivet nut has hit its stopping point, remove the screw, washer, and
tool. Check that the flange of rivet nut is sitting flush against the firewall
as shown above..
Remove the M10 bolt that secures the OEM pitch stop.
Install the right side reinforcement plate using the provided M6 bolts and
washers. Do not completely tighten yet.
Remove the M8 nuts that secure the clutch master cylinder. Do NOT push on the clutch until all the nuts are reinstalled! Now, fold down the firewall cover to make room to install the left side reinforcement plate.
Slide the left side plate over the (2) M8 studs that hold the clutch master
cylinder. Do not tighten yet.
Using the provided M8 bolt and washer, install it in the plate’s middle hole
that’s near the hose. Do not completely tighten yet.
Using the provided M10 bolt and washer, slide it through the right side plate,
through the chassis and through the pitch stop. Start threading the bolt into
the left brace. Tighten the bolt to 43ft/lbs.
Install the provided M10 washer and nut onto the bolt, which extends out of
the left side place. Tighten the nut to 43ft/lbs.
Tighten the M8 bolts and nuts on the left plate to 15ft/lbs-18ft/lbs. Fold
back or cut off the firewall cover. Tighten the M6 bolts on the right plate to
8ft/lbs-10ft/lbs.
Now reinstall the intercooler. Start your vehicle and check for rattling.
