The cooling device is suitable for cooling foodstuffs.
The device is also able to heat using the additional heating feature.
The device is designed for use with:

  • a DC vehicle electrics socket of a car (such as a cigarette lighter), boat or caravan (see voltage specification on the type plate)
  • a 230 V AC mains supply

The appliance is intended for camping use.

CAUTION! Health hazard!
If you wish to cool medicines, please check if the cooling capacity of the device is suitable for the medicine in question.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The cooler is portable. It can cool items and keep them cool or heat items and keep them warm (with the additional heating feature) to max. 65 °C. Its cooling system is a non-wearing Peltier cooling, the heat is discharged by a fan.

4.1 Optional accessories
The device is available in different versions. The version you bought may have the following additional features:
Heating
The contents of your cooler can be warmed or kept warm to max. 65 °C.
Priority circuit
Models with a priority circuit have an integrated mains adapter. The device switches automatically to mains operation when it is connected to a 230 V AC mains supply even if the DC connection cable is still connected.

4.2 Antibacterial effect
This product has been treated with a biocidal product (Silver-zinc-aluminum- boron phosphate-glass), which has an antibacterial effect.

OPERATION

CAUTION! To avoid contamination of food.

  • Food may only be stored in its original packaging or in suitable containers.

NOTE

  • Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic reasons (please also refer to the chapter “Cleaning and maintenance”.
  • A few water drops may form inside the cooler if it has been cooling for a lengthy period. This is normal because the moisture in the air condenses to water when the temperature in the cooler falls. The cooler is not defective. Wipe it out with a dry cloth if necessary.

5.1 Energy saving tips

  • Choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against direct sunlight.
  • Allow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the device to keep cool.
  • Do not leave the cooler unit open for longer than necessary.
  • Remove individual drinks bottles through the bottle hatch, if present.
  • Opening the lid for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.
  • Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.
  • If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mould developing within the appliance.

5.2 Using the cooler
NOTICE! Risk of damage

  • Ensure that the objects placed in the cooler are suitable for cooling or heating (with the additional heating feature) to the selected temperature.
  • Ensure that food or liquids in glass containers are not excessively refrigerated. Liquids expand when they freeze and can therefore destroy the glass containers.
  • Ensure that your cooler is well ventilated so that any heat created can dissipate. Otherwise proper functioning cannot be ensured. It is especially important not to cover the air vents.

NOTE For coolers with fold in handles
➤ Place the cooler on a firm base.

Connection cable plug

Coolers without the additional heating feature
➤ Connect the corresponding cable (see figure) to the required voltage.
✓ The cooler starts cooling the interior.
➤ To switch off the cooler, disconnect the plug.

Coolers with the additional heating feature
➤ Connect the corresponding cable (see figure) to the required voltage.
➤ For fast cool down switch to MAX on the cool box. Please be aware that doing so you will not run on ECO
mode. We advice that the ECO function is primarily used.
➤ Push the switch on the control panel to HOT or COLD to switch the cooler on.
✓ The indicators on the control panel show you the operating mode:

Operating display Operating mode
Red Heating
Green Cooling

✓ The cooler starts cooling/heating the interior.
➤ To switch off the cooler,
– slide the switch to the OFF position,
– disconnect the plug.
If this coolbox runs on 12V Eco mode is not possible. If it runs on 230V both Max and Eco mode is possible.

5.3 Connecting to the cigarette lighter
NOTE
If you connect the cooler to the cigarette lighter, remember that the ignition must be turned on to supply it with power.

Replacing the DC plug fuse (12V)

  • Unplug the cable from the 12V socket and cooler.
  • Turn the plastic cap anticlockwise. Remove plastic and metal cap. Replace fuse with a new one that has the same rating (T6,3A/250V)
  • Re-assemble the plug in the reverse order.

Replacing the AC plug fuse (220-240V)

  • Unplug the cabel from the mains socket and the cooler.
  • Unscrew the large screw in the centre of the plug. Remove back cover. Replace fuse with a new one that has the same rating (BS 1362 /3A)
  • Re-assemble the plug in the reverse order.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING!
Always disconnect the device from the mains before you clean and service it.
NOTICE! Risk of damage

  • Never clean the cooler under running water or in dish water.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the cooler.

➤ Occasionally clean the device interior and exterior with a damp cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause Suggested remedy
Your device is not working (plug is inserted) There is no voltage flowing

from the DC socket (cigarette
lighter) in your vehicle.| The ignition must be switched  on in most vehicles to supply  current to the cigarette lighter.
No voltage present in the AC voltage socket.| Try using another plug socket.
The inner fan or the cooling element is defective.| This can only be repaired by an authorised repair centre.
When operating from the DC
socket (cigarette lighter): The ignition is on and the cooler is not working.| The fuse of the DC plug is dirty. This results in a poor electrical contact.| If the plug of your cooler becomes  very warm in the DC socket fitting, either the fitting must be cleaned or the plug has not been assembled  correctly.
The fuse of the DC plug has blown.| Replace the fuse of the DC plug with one of the same rating.
The vehicle fuse has blown.| Replace the vehicle’s DC socket fuse (usually 15 A). Please refer to the operating manual of your vehicle.

DISPOSAL

**** ➤ Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible.

If you wish to finally dispose of the device.
Remove cables, lid with eletric engine, body and handle and dispose according to local regulations, ask your local recycling centre for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.
