Dear Customer

Thank you and congratulations for choosing HOMEMATE Electric Oven. Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully.

Important Safety Instructions

Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

  1. The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
  2. This appliance operates at very high temperatures. Do not touch hot surface. Use handles and knobs.
    • Warning: The door as well as the accessible surfaces of the appliance become hot during operation. Burns can occur from touching he hot parts!
  3. Before the appliance is used, the crumb tray must be fitted in its proper position under the lower heating elements.
  4. Overheated oil or fat may tend to ignite. Therefore do not overfill the baking tray.
  5. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
  6. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
    • Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
  7. Do not use outdoors.
  8. Do not position or operate the appliance close to or underneath any wall cupboards or hanging objects such as curtains or any inflammable materials.
  9. Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot parts of the appliance.
  10. During operation, the appliance must be placed on a heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes and stains. Do not position the appliance on or near hot surfaces, open flames or inflammable vapours.
  11. When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
  12. Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, as well as in cases of malfunction, and during cleaning.
  13. Do not operate the appliance if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord. Damage cannot always be detected from the outside; the entire unit should therefore be checked by a qualified technician before it is used again.
  14. The oven can be turned off manually during cooking by turning the”Timer” anti-clockwise to the “O” position.
  15. Do not use accessories or parts from other appliances or other brands.
  16. This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial applications.
  17. When hot, do not apply water to the glass window. It may cause the glass to break.
  18. No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied.
  19. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts causing a risk of electric shock.
  20. Sufficient ventilation must be ensured at all times. Do not place any objects on the unit, and make sure that the following minimum distances from any wall or other object are maintained: Side: 12 cm Rear: 12 cm Top: 30 cm.
  21. If the food inside the oven began to smoke and burn off immediately, unplug the power cord. And still keep the oven door closed. If you open the door immediately to allow air into the oven. Food will burn faster.
  22. In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The address can be found in the appendix to this manual.
  23. This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  24. Do not touch the power cable or unit with wet hands. Always unplug the cord after use and whenever the unit is left unattended. A malfunction while the plug is inserted into the mains could cause a fire.VERASU-HOM-230402-Homemate-Electric-Oven-fig-1
  25. When cooking fat-spitting dishes such as roast chicken, it is recommended to use 2 sheets of aluminum foil in order to reduce face spitting. Place one sheet on the tray and the other over the food. The oil will drip into the gap between the sheets of foil.
  26. The oven must be connected to a property wired outlet. Insert the plug into the socket. If it is not properly connected, it could overheat. Do not use an electric light outlet. Never connect multiple plugs to the same power outlet.

Before using for the first time

  1. Unpack your appliance and check that all elements and accessories are present and undamaged.
  2. Check that all wrap elements (plastic, cardboard box, polystyrene) have been removed.
  3. Clean all the parts according to the instructions given in the “General care and cleaning” section.
  4. Dry all parts thoroughly and assemble them, the oven is now ready to use. Heat the empty oven: Insert the tray and wire track.
  5. Heat the empty oven. Set the heater operating switch to “UPPER & LOWER”, set the temperature control dial to “250 °C” and heat the empty oven for about 10 minutes.
  6. Then, let it cool down, remove the plug from the power socket and clean all the detached parts again.
    • Note: A slight smell may be emitted; this is normal and will only last for a very short time. Ensure sufficient ventilation.

Pre-set temperature

  • Set the desired temperature. Turn the heating elements switch is in the “Top and bottom heat” position.
  • Set the timer up for 10-15 minutes the light goes on.

Note: By default, no need to preheat before using. Except that the oven should be heated in order to be more like a roast beef cooked (Rare-Medium) and bake the cake.

Helpful Hints

Do not worry about the smoke for the first operating, as it is normally for the first heating, and will disappear within 20mins. In general, it is not necessary to preheat the oven. But you may better results if you heat the oven before cooking some delicate meals, such as rare medium meat and cakes.

Temperature control knob (2)

  • Set the “Temperature Control” by turning the knob clockwise to the suitable temperature for the dish you are cooking.
  • (Temperature Control between 70°C and 250°C)

Heater control knob (3)

  • Select the suitable heating element according to the dishes you are going to cook.

Fan function

  • The fan function on the side of the cavity, the hot air circulates in the entirety of the oven, so the heat is better distributed and the cook is more uniform.

Timer knob (4)

By using the timer, the baking time can be selected up to a maximum of 120 minutes timer. Set the timer to the cooking time (in minutes) depending on the dish you are cooking by turning it clockwise. The indicator light allows you to ensure the orderly functioning of the heating elements. The oven will turn off automatically at the end of the selected time and a bell will ring. The oven can be turned off manually during cooking by turning the timer anti- clockwise to the “0” position.

Note

  • If the inside of the oven is dirty, cooking may take slightly longer than usual.
  • When setting the Timer to less than 5 minutes, turn it to more than 6 minutes and then back to the selected time.

Indicator light (5)

  • The indicator lamp lights up when the machine is the timer switched on.
  • It goes out once the pre-programmed time has elapsed, or if the switch is turned back to “0”.

Use recommendations Baking tray and Wire Rack

  • Banking tray: For Roast chicken wings, Hamburgers, Gratin, Cakes and most other oven-cooked foods.
  • Wire Rack: For Baked potatoes, Dry foods.
  • Banking tray & Wire Rack: For food which will drip, e.g. boiled fish, etc.

Rack support

There are 4 trays cater for different type of dishes you want to cook. You can adjust the cooking position by slotting the baking tray and wire rack at top, second and third rack support (refer to right picture). For example, when making macaroni gratin and you want to have the top part to be cooked the most, use the top or second support. For roasting a chicken, you can use the third rack support.

Operation

  1. Pre-heat the bakery oven compartment for several minutes with the door closed, using both heating elements. Set the temperature control knob to the required level and use the timer control knob to select the desired pre-heating time.
  2. Place the food to be cooked on the baking rack. When cooking food containing fat or moisture, use the baking tray to stop any dripping into the interior of the appliance.
  3. Close the door, set the temperature control knob to the required level and use the timer knob to select the desired cooking time.
  4. For overhead baking or grilling, either the upper or the upper and lower elements may be selected.
  5. The Function selector knob settings (upper heat/lower heat) may be changed during the cooking process.
  6. After the pre-programmed cooking time has elapsed, the timer will automatically switch off the heating elements.VERASU-HOM-230402-Homemate-Electric-Oven-fig-9
  7. To interrupt the cooking process temporarily, set the 6-position switch to the “OFF” position. However, it should be noted that the timer function continues during the interruption. To switch off the oven earlier, set the timer to “O” and turn the 6-position switch to the “OFF” position.
  8. Always use the door handle to open the hot door after use. When removing the baking tray, use the tray handle provided. To remove the wire rack and, if necessary, the banking tray with it, an oven cloth must be used. Always place the baking tray on a heat resistant surface.
  9. After use, set the 6-position switch to the “O” position and remove the plug from the wall socket.

General care and cleaning

  1. Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has completely cooled down.
  2. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
  3. Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or spray-type oven cleaners.
  4. The exterior of the housing may be cleaned with a damp, lint-free cloth.
  5. The baking tray, crumb tray, wire rack and tray handle may be cleaned using hot water and a mild detergent, or in a dishwasher.
  6. Let all parts and surfaces dry thoroughly prior to plugging oven in and using.

Disposal

  • Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

The cooking times listed are approximate times only, as each food to be cooked is of a different nature and consistency; please also refer to the information contained on the food packaging.

Muffins

Ingredients

  • 180 g: All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp: Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp: Vanilla powder
  • 1/2 tsp: Baking soda
  • 57 g: Butter
  • 135 g: Granulated sugar
  • 2: Eggs
  • 150 g: Yogurt (natural flavor)

How to make muffins

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, vanilla powder and baking soda.
  2. Stir the butter with sugar by stand mixer until stiff peaks form. Then add egg one at a time and stir thoroughly.
  3. Add the dry ones to the mixing bowl, beating just until blended. Then add yogurt and mix well.
  4. Pour the batter into the muffin pan that brushed the bottoms and sides with shortening. Fill each muffin cup about 80-90g. (6 cups muffin pan)
  5. Bake at 200°C for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Remark: Original recipe makes 8-10 cups muffin pan.
