Product Usage Instructions

Connection and Setup

To use the dehydrator, follow these steps:

  1. Place the dehydrator on a stable and heat-resistant surface.
  2. Ensure the power switch is in the “Off” position.
  3. Plug the power cord into a suitable wall outlet.

Operating the Dehydrator

The dehydrator is equipped with several buttons for operation:

  • Start/Stop Button: Press this button to start or stop the dehydrator.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Press the Start/Stop button once and use the “+” and “-” buttons to change the temperature setting. The temperature range is between 95°F and 175°F (35°C and 79.4°C).
  • Time Adjustment: Press the Start/Stop button a second time and use the “+” and “-” buttons to change the time setting.
  • Interior View Light: Press the LIGH button to turn on or off the interior view light.

Dehydrating Process:

Once you have set the desired temperature and time, follow these steps to start the dehydrating process:

  2. Press the Start/Stop button to start the dehydrator.
  3. The dehydrator will begin to operate, and the interior view light (if turned on) will illuminate the drying process.

Disconnecting and Cleaning

To disconnect and clean the dehydrator, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the dehydrator by pressing the Start/Stop button.
  2. Wait for the dehydrator to cool down before handling.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Clean the dehydrator’s trays and interior according to the provided cleaning instructions in the user manual.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Do not let cord (or any extension cord) hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  3. This dehydrator has a 3-prong grounding plug, and should only be used with 120V, 60Hz electrical systems in North America. Always plug in to a grounded electrical outlet. Do not modify the plug in any way.
  4. Do not use with a 220-240V outlet.
  5. Do nottouch hot surfaces. Use handles.
  6. Be cautious when handling the back of the dehydrator. This area will be hotter than the rest of the dehydrator.
  7. Do not immerse cord, plug, or housing in water or other liquid.
  8. Allow to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts.
  9. Do not use dehydrator if it is damaged, not working, or if the cord or plug is damaged. Contact Customer Support.
  10. Using third-party parts or accessories may cause injuries.
  11. Do not use outdoors.
  12. Do not place on a stove, near gas or electric burners, or in a heated oven.
  13. Be extremely cautious when moving the dehydrator or removing trays if they contain hot liquid.
  14. Do not block the air vents on the side or at the rear of the dehydrator. Always keep the Dehydrator at least 12″(30.Scm) away from any wall to allow for proper air circulation.
  15. To disconnect, turn off the dehydrator, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  16. Keep the dehydrator away from flammable materials (curtains, tablecloths, etc), Use on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from heat sources and liquids.
  17. Do not store anything on top of your dehydrator while in use.
  18. Do not clean housing with metal scouring pads. Metal fragments can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.
  19. Do not use where aerosol (spray) products are being used.
  20. Avoid contact with moving parts. Never place any object into the openings in the screen protecting the dehydrator fan.
  21. Only use the dehydrator as directed in this manual.
  22. Not for commercial use. Household use only.

  • This appliance must be grounded while in use to protect the operator from electric shock.
  • The appliance is equipped with a 3-conductor cord and a 3-prong grounding type plug to fit the proper grounding-type receptacle.
  • The appliance has a plug that looks like Figure A. An adaptor, Figure B, should be used for connecting Figure A plugs to two-prong receptacles. The grounding tab which extends from the adaptor must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box as shown in Figure C using a metal screw.

Controls

How to Use

BEFORE Fl RST USE

  1. Remove all packaging from your dehydrator and its accessories. Make sure all package contents are included.
  2. Clean the housing, trays, and tray liners with a moistened cloth.
    • NOTE: The trays are dishwasher safe. Do not wash the mesh screen or fruit roll sheet in a dishwasher.
  3. Place the dehydrator on a solid, level surface. Plug in. Place the trays inside the dehydrator.
  4. Run the dehydrator for 30 minutes at any temperature, without adding any food. Make sure that the room has sufficient ventilation in case the dehydrator produces any smoke or smells. This is normal.
  5. Rinse the trays with water. Dry all parts.

NOTE

  • You only need to do this the first time you use the dehydrator.

OPERATION

IMPORTANT:  IT IS IMPORTANT TO MONITOR THE DEHYDRATOR WHILE IN USE. NEVER leave the Dehydrator unattended. Read and fully understand all instructions and warnings prior to using this unit. USE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. DO NOT BLOCK THE AIR VENTS on the side or at the rear of the Dehydrator. Operate the dehydrator on a clean, dry surface.

  1. Place the dehydrator at least 12″ (30.5cm) from any wall during operation to allow for proper air circulation. Do not block the air vents on the side or at rear of the dehydrator.
  2. Place food on trays. Rearrange the trays to fit thicker food items. Avoid overloading the trays or overlapping food. Close dehydrator door.
  3. Plug the dehydrator into a standard 120V, 60Hz wall outlet. The dehydrator will beep, and the display will show “88:88”. Then the dehydrator will switch to standby mode and the display will show “ “
  4. Press the to turn on the machine which it will automatically set the time to 5 hours and the temperature to 125 °F. The dehydrator will start working after 3 seconds without operating. If you would like to change the time or temperature, press the button when the figures on the display screen is flickering.
  5. Press the to choose temperature. The temperature will blink on the display and the + and – buttons will light up. Use + or – to change the temperature (95°F- 179.4°F).
    • NOTE: When you press + the increment in temperature is 5°F. When you press – the decrease in temperature is 1F. You can get any temperature you desire.
  6. Press again to choose time. The time will blink on the display and the + and – buttons will light up. Use + or – to change the time.(0:30-24:00)
    • NOTE: Time changes in 30 minutes increments.
  7. The dehydrator will start working after 3 seconds without operating.
    • NOTE: You can still change the TEMP or TIME setting when working by press + or – button.
  8. It may form water droplets on the surface of some products while dehydrator. These can be removed by blotting the product with a clean towel or paper towel.
    • CAUTION: Dehydrator casing is HOT when using!
  9. When the timer finishes, the display will show”–:–” and heat will turn off. The dehydrator will beep and the fan will stop after 1 minute.
  10. Use heat-resistant glove or oven mitt to handle the trays.

NOTE: Drying times may vary depending on several factors including relative humidity, air temperature and product thickness, temperature and fat content. The actual temperature of the Dehydrator is based on the ambient temperature of 70 °F (21°C) .If the Dehydrator is not used in the ambient temperature of 70 °F (21t) the temperature indicated on the Temperature Control Knob may not be achieved/may be exceeded.

TRAY LINERS

Your dehydrator comes with tray liners: fruit roll sheets and mesh screens.

  1. Place tray liners on dehydrator trays. Place food on the liners.
  2. Once the food is dehydrated, remove the tray and lift the tray liner out of the tray.
  3. Remove food: Bending the screen is helpful for removing sticky foods.

Fruit Roll Sheet

  • Use for making fruit rolls and strips from fresh, frozen, or canned fruit. You can also use this liner for pouring puree onto a tray.

NOTE

  • This liner can be placed on the bottom of the dehydrator to catch any dripping liquids, to make cleaning easier.

Mesh Screen

  • Use for foods that shrink when dried. Will prevent them from falling through tray grates.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

  • Overheating is rare.
  • If the dehydrator overheats, it will automatically shut down as a safety feature, and will no longer turn on. Contact Customer Support.

TIPS

  • Fruit and vegetables dried in your food dehydrator will look different from those sold in stores. This is because homemade dried foods do not use preservatives, artificial coloring, or artificial additives.

Care and Cleaning

Note: Do not clean any part of the dehydrator with abrasive chemicals, as this will damage the surface.

  1. Unplug the dehydrator and allow it to cool before cleaning.
  2. Soak trays in hot, soapy water for easy removal of food residue.
  3. Use a soft brush to clean the trays and tray liners.
    • NOTE: The trays are dishwasher safe. Do not wash the mesh screen or fruit roll sheet in a dishwasher.
  4. Clean the dehydrator housing with a damp cloth.
  5. Dry all parts before storing or using the dehydrator.

Troubleshooting

Problem Probable Cause Solution

Moisture in the container

| a.  Incomplete Drying.

b. Food cut unevenly, thus incomplete drying.

c. Dried foods left at room

temperature too long after cooling, moisture has re-entered the foods.

| a. Test food for dryness before removing from the dehydrator.

c. Cool quickly and package immediately.

Mold on food

| a.  Incomplete drying.

b.  Food not checked for moisture content within a week.

c. Storage container not air-tight.

d. Storage temperature too warm/moisture in food.

e. Case hardening may have occurred, meaning the food was dried at too high of a temperature and food was dried on the outside but not completely dried on the inside.

| a. Test several food pieces for dryness.

b.  Check the storage container within 1 week for moisture, then re-dry food if needed.

c. Use air-tight containers for

storage.

d.  Store foods in cool areas that are 70° F (21° C) or below.

e.  Dry foods at appropriate temperatures/use the Drying Guide for reference.

Brown spots on vegetables

a.  Too high of drying temperature used.
