Carbon Fiber Door Frame Installation Instructions for 2020-2022 C8 Corvette.
Installation Instructions

Disable the factory SIR system.

Disconnect the wire harness in the door jam and remove the door, front and rear fender, and all related components around the opening frame.

Use a heat gun and apply heat to release the factory adhesive in the highlighted areas. Do not use excessive prying or damage may occur. Heat areas slowly for best results.

Remove the factory panel.

There will be factory adhesive left on the body and chassis. IMPORTANT: Remove some of the adhesive “blobs” from the highlighted areas, but not all of it. The remaining glue spots will be used to locate the replacement carbon panel.

Sand the back side of the carbon panel where it will contact the chassis and body of the vehicle. This will ensure a good adhesion surface.

Remove the rocker panel splitters and test fit the carbon panel to the vehicle. Removing splitters makes it easier to test fit and install. Tip: use non-marring clamps to hold the panel in place to verify fitment.

Remove the panel from the car. Wipe all areas of the body, chassis, and backside of the panel with alcohol to remove any debris from contact areas.

Load the sealant into a caulk gun and apply adhesive to the highlighted areas on the chassis, body, and some remaining glue “tabs”. RECOMMENDATION: We use 3M
Windo-Weld #08609 Urethane. At least 4 tubes are required to fasten two panels. -
Install the frame panel on the vehicle starting at the rocker and “roll up” onto the chassis. Verify the fitment at front of the door opening and rear pillar. Check body contact points to verify the adhesive has mated with the replacement panel. Add adhesive if necessary.

Reinstall the non-marring clamps to the replacement panel and body. Let the panel dry to the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended cure time.

Once the door frame panel has cured, reinstall doors and related components.

Install the carbon fiber rocker panel splitter.

Repeat for another side of the vehicle.

Reactivate the vehicle SIR system.
