Wireless Switches PTM ETR
Overview
The collection of Wireless Switches (PTM ETR) includes single and dual paddle decorator style, wave style, handheld, and keycard models.
The Echoplex family of switches uses wireless technology to communicate with compatible lighting controllers for ON/OFF and dimming control. The switches are powered by kinetic energy—no batteries are required.

This document covers the installation of all PTM and ETR models. The product
package includes the switch and mounting supplies for the model.
Prepare for Installation
To ensure optimal function, consider the installation environment and the
following guidelines:
- For indoor use only. Operating temperature -25°C to 65°C (-13°F to 149°F), 5%–92% relative humidity (non-condensing).
- High-density construction materials and large metal appliances or fixtures in the space may disrupt wireless transmissions.
- Install the switch within range of linked receivers or controllers, 24 m (80 ft). Consider adding a repeater to extend reception range.
- Avoid mounting transmitters and receivers on the same wall.
Installation
Use hand tools when installing. Over-torquing with a power tool can damage the
switch.
Models that are surface-mounted can be installed on any clean surface using
double-sided tape or Velcro ® . Mounting holes are also provided for more
secure mounting if required.
Note: To adapt the mounting method, order certified barrier plates, which
are sold separately (part numbers: 8188K1001 for single-gang and 8188K1002 for
dual-gang). Multi-gang surface mounting plates are also sold separately.
Orient the ON side of the switch paddle at the top. The decorator-style
switches have a UP arrow and an “I” indicating ON and an “O” indicating OFF.
The handheld switches have a recessed area that indicates the ON side of the
paddle.
Paddle Switch (PTM365)
The PTM365 model includes a barrier plate designed to mount the switch on an
electrical wall box.
- Install the barrier plate and the switch on the box using the provided #6-32 screws through the two oval mounting holes.
- Install the provided decorator-style faceplate over the switch.
- Test the rocker action. An audible click confirms the paddle movement down and then back to the neutral position.
Wave Switch (ETRS)
The ETRS model includes clear, double-sided tape to mount the mobile switch to
glass when it is not in use. The switch also can be surface mounted securely
to a wall.
- Pull to remove the front cover and access the two mounting hole targets on the back plate.
- Mount the back plate to a wall with screws and wall anchors (not provided) and replace the front cover.
Handheld Switch (ETRH)
The ETRH model is designed to be portable, but it also can be surface-mounted
to a wall using the two keyholes on the back.
- Remove the covers to expose the mounting keyholes. Use the two holes for leverage to turn 90 degrees.
- Install screws and wall anchors (not provided) aligned to 6 cm (2.4 in) on the center to hang the switch.
Keycard Switch (PTM265KCA)
The PTM265KCA model has a removable faceplate and rear plate for surface
mounting to a wall. The switch is activated by an 85.60×53.98 mm (3.37×2.125
in) card that is 0.76 mm (0.03 in) thick, as specified by ISO/IEC7810 ID-1.
-
Remove the faceplate screws and assembly that includes the front cover and keycard slot.
-
Use the four mounting holes in the rear mounting plate to attach the switch to a wall surface with screws and wall anchors (not provided).Keycard Switch (PTM265KCA)

Link to a Controller
The compatible target controller must be installed, powered, and within range of the PTM ETR.
Note: The linking process can be used both to link a device to a controller and to unlink a linked device from a controller.
-
Press the [Learn] button on the controller to activate Link mode. If necessary, refer to the controller product documentation.
-
Do one of the following:
For wall and handheld switches: triple-click ON quickly.
For keycard switches: activate the switch with a keycard three times quickly. -
Deactivate Link mode on the controller before attempting to link to any other controllers.
Note: For dual paddle models, each paddle can be linked to a different controller for multiple control from one wall switch.
