PRODUCT SAFETY

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions. Misuse of appliance may result in personal injury.

  2. European Union only: Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  3. European Union only: This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  4. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put the Base of the appliance, USB Adapter, USB Cable, or Battery in water or other liquid.

  5. Do not use the appliance on wet surfaces. Do not expose to rain, store indoors.

  6. Do not allow the Cordless Hand Vacuum to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.

  7. Keep hair, loose clothing, and fingers away from openings and moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in internal moving parts.

  8. Use this product only for its intended use and with the attachments recommended in this manual.

  9. Do not use a damaged cord or USB Adapter. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, dropped in water, damaged, left outdoors, return it to a service centre.

  10. The use of attachments/accessories not recommended or sold by KitchenAid may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

  11. Do not handle USB Adapter or the appliance with wet hands.

  12.  Do not put any object into openings.

  13. Do not use the Cordless Hand Vacuum with any openings blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.

  14. Do not use the Cordless Hand Vacuum to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.

  15. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

  16. Do not use the Cordless Hand Vacuum without the cup and/or filters in place.

  17. Disconnect the Battery from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or when storing the appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidentally turning ON the appliance.

  18. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the
    off-position before connecting to the Battery, picking up or carrying the appliance.

  19.  Recharge only with the charger specified by KitchenAid. A charger that is suitable for one type of Battery may create a risk of fire when used with another Battery.

  20. Use appliances only with KitchenAid 12 V Battery. Use of any other Battery may create a risk of injury and fire.

  21. When the Battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the Battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

  22. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the Battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the Battery may cause irritation or burns.

  23. Do not use a Battery or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

  24. Do not expose a Battery or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 129°C may cause an explosion.

  25. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the Battery or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the Battery and increase the risk of fire.

  26. Never service damaged Battery. Service of Battery should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorised service providers.

  27. Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

  28. Do not pull or carry by the cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

  29. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

  30. Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or Battery.

  31. Do not use an extension cord. Plug the adapter directly into power source.

  32.  Remove empty batteries from the appliance and safely dispose.

  33. Remove the Battery if the appliance is stored unused for a long period.

  34. If the Battery leaks, remove the Battery from the appliance and do not use the Battery again.

  35. Remove rechargeable batteries from the appliance before charging.

  36.  WARNING: Use only with approved USB Adapter by market.

  37. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

  • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  • farmhouses;
  • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
  • bed and breakfast type environments.

  • NOTE : If the USB Adapter does not fit fully in the power source, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the USB Adapter in any way.
  • NOTE : Do not use or store batteries or products in locations where the temperature is less than 10°C or more than 40°C.

DISPOSAL

  • Always dispose the Battery operated products according to federal, state, and local regulations. Contact a recycling agency in your area for recycling locations.

GETTING STARTED

  • BEFORE FIRST USE
  1. Charge the Battery until it is fully charged.
  2. Clean all the parts and accessories (see “Care and Cleaning” section).
  3. Remove all packaging materials, if present.

NOTE : Some dust may be on the product. This is due to the recycled materials used in packaging. This can be cleaned with a soft towel.

BATTERY CHARGING USING THE USB CABLE

  1. Attach the USB Cable to the adapter. Connect the other end of the USB Cable to the Battery.
  2.  Plug the USB Adapter into a power source.

PRODUCT USAGE

IMPORTANT : Make sure the Battery is charged before using.

  1. Make sure that the Power Button is off before attaching the Battery.
  2. Insert the Battery on the Battery slot located underneath of the appliance, make sure it is aligned. The LED will light and display the Battery level for five seconds, then turn off.
  3. Insert the Filter and Screen Assembly into the Dirt Cup. Twist the Dirt Cup onto the Vacuum Base to lock into place.
  4. Attach either the Crevice Tool or the Wide Angle Tool for cleaning.
  5. Press the Power Button  to turn the unit ON at a normal speed and to active Boost function press and hold the Boost Button.
  6. Release Boost Button to go back to normal speed and press the Power Button  again to turn the unit off.
  7. Press and hold the Batttery Unlock Button to remove the Battery.

NOTE : While the unit is off, press and hold the button to turn the Cordless Hand Vacuum ON at Boost speed.
NOTE : Only use the Cordless Hand Vacuum on dry items. Do not use the vacuum to clean wet messes.
NOTE : The Cordless Vacuum is not intended to clean fine powders. Fine powder quickly clogs filter leading to performance loss. If performance loss occurs, inspect and clean filter.

CARE AND CLEANING

IMPORTANT : Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance. Remove the Battery before removing or attaching parts, or before cleaning.

To empty the Dirt Cup and clean the filter:

  1. Remove the Battery.
  2.  Rotate to unlock and remove the Dirt Cup to empty.
  3. Empty the debris from the Dirt Cup into a trash can.
  4.  Pull out the Filter and Screen Assembly from the Dirt Cup. Clean by rinsing under warm water until it is clear. Allow to air dry for at least 24 hours before using again.
  5. Reinstall the filter and Screen into the Dirt Cup and then place the Dirt Cup back into place until it clicks.

NOTE : The paper filter need to be changed periodically and the pre- filter can also be changed if desired. The replacement filter is available as an accessory.

DISPOSAL OF PACKING MATERIAL
The packing material is recyclable and is marked with the recycle symbol . The various parts of the packing must therefore be disposed of responsibly and in full compliance with local authority regulations governing waste disposal.

In summary, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says products must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.   • Up to six months: if your product can’t be repaired or replaced, then you’re entitled to a full refund, in most cases.

SCOPE AND TERMS OF THE GUARANTEE

  • The Guarantor grants the Guarantee for the products mentioned under Section 1.b) which a consumer has purchased from a seller or a company of the KitchenAid-Group within the following countries: U.K.,
  • Ireland, or the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
  • The Guarantee period depends on the purchased product and is as follows:
  • One Year full guarantee from date of purchase.
  • The Guarantee period commences on the date of purchase, i.e. the date on which a consumer purchased the product from a dealer or a company of the KitchenAid-Group.
  • The Guarantee covers the defect-free nature of the product.
  • The Guarantor shall provide the consumer with the following services under this Guarantee, at the choice of the Guarantor, if a defect occurs during the Guarantee period:
  • Repair of the defective product or product part, or? Replacement of the defective product or product part. If a product is no longer available, the Guarantor is entitled to exchange the product for a product of equal or higher value.

  •  The costs of repair, including spare parts, and any postage costs (if applicable) for the delivery of a defect-free product or product part shall be borne by the Guarantor. The Guarantor shall also bear the postage costs for returning the defective product or product part if the Guarantor or the country specific KitchenAid customer service centre requested the return of the defective product or product part. However, the consumer shall bear the costs of appropriate packaging for the return of the defective product or product part.
  •  To be able to make a claim under the Guarantee, the consumer must present the receipt or invoice of the purchase of the product.

LIMITATIONS OF THE GUARANTEE

  •  The Guarantee applies only to products used for private purposes and not for professional or commercial purposes.
  • The Guarantee does not apply in the case of normal wear and tear, improper or abusive use, failure to follow the instructions for use, use of the product at the wrong electrical voltage, installation and operation
  • in violation of the applicable electrical regulations, and use of force (e.g. blows).
  • The Guarantee does not apply if the product has been modified or converted, e.g. conversions from 120 V products to 220- 240 V products.
  • The provision of Guarantee services does not extend the Guarantee period, nor does it initiate the commencement of a new Guarantee period. The Guarantee period for installed spare parts ends with the
