Retrofit Instructions

  1. Before installation starts, please make sure power to the fixture is switched off at the circuit breaker panel.

  2. Remove fluorescent lamps and ballast cover from the fixture.

  3. Cut all wires to the ballast. Please cut wires as close to the ballast as possible since these wires will be reused.

  4. Ensure lampholders are in good condition, with no corrosion or blackened marks, and firmly secured. L.ampholders should be shunted type (mostly used with instant-start ballasts). In case, lampholders are non-shunted type, they can be used by adding a jumper wire to short two terminals (see adjacent figure).

  5. Philips MainsFit LED tube is dual ended, meaning it requires AC power from both sides. Connect the AC line hot wire (typically black) to one lampholder, and neutral wire (typically white) to the opposite side lampholder.
Note : All wire connections and un-used wires must be properly capped. Ensure fixture remain properly grounded.

  6. Reinst.all the ballast cover removed in step 2 above. Affix the provided field label at a visible location on fixture for future installers to know that the fixture has been modified to accommodate LED lamp1 •

  7. Inst.all Philips MainsFit LED tube in the lampholders. Ensure tube pins are firmly seated in the lampholders.

  8. Switch on power to the fixture.
