Operating Instructions

Install Batteries
To install the batteries, follow these steps:

1. Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the tool.
2. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the compartment according to the positive and negative electrode marks.

Selecting the Mode
To select the measurement mode, follow these steps:

1. Long press the POWER button to turn on the tool with a beep. The default startup mode is DRYWALL.
2. Press the MODE button to switch between the DRYWALL, CEMENT BOARD, SOFTWOOD, and HARDWOOD modes.
3. Press and hold the power button for about 1 second to shut down the tool.

Measurement
To measure the moisture content of an object, follow these steps:

1. Place the sensing parts of the machine in close contact with the flat surface of the object being measured(like below schematic diagram). Wait until the moisture value stabilizes before reading the measurement result. If the moisture content exceeds the measurement range, “HH%” will be displayed on the screen.
2. Briefly press the “HOLD” key during measurement to lock the moisture measurement data.
3. The lower section of the screen displays the current environmental temperature and humidity in real-time. The device also calculates the mildew index (nine levels in total) based on the current environmental conditions and displays it in the “D” area of the screen.
4. Briefly press the “SET” key to turn the buzzer on or off. This function has a power-off memory feature. When the buzzer is on, an alarm will sound when the moisture value exceeds the red range.
5. Press and hold the “SET” button to switch the temperature display unit. This function also has a power-off memory feature.
6. After 15 seconds of inactivity, the backlight will dim, and the device will enter power-saving mode. It will exit power-saving mode when there is key operation or when the moisture value changes by more than 1%.

3. Cork mode:
   • Green indicator block – 1%~16%:DRY
   • Yellow indicator block – 16.1%~28%:SLIGHTLY DAMP
   • Red indicator block – 28.1%~50%:EXCESSIVE DAMPNESS
4. Hardwood mode:
   • Green indicator block – 1%~16%:DRY
   • Yellow indicator block – 16.1%~28%:SLIGHTLY DAMP

5. Mildew index indicator bar:
   The mildew index is 9 levels in total, and the higher the index is, the easier the mildew will occur;

1. In case the instrument fails to start normally or displays a low battery symbol on the LCD screen after turning on, it indicates that the battery needs replacement. Please replace the battery before use.
2. The moisture value of the measured wood is influenced by ambient humidity and wood density. To ensure accurate measurements, it is crucial to select the correct measurement mode. The moisture trend of the material should be assessed by analyzing data obtained from multiple measurements.

CALIBRATION INSTRUCTION

This instrument features a self-calibration function. If the hand-held instrument is used in the air (with no other object within a 50 cm radius of the machine), the displayed moisture data may not be 0. To perform a self- calibration, press and hold the “HOLD” button for 3 seconds until the “CAL” symbol appears on the display screen. The instrument will enter automatic calibration mode, remain stable, and wait for the moisture data to be displayed again. Once the calibration is complete, the instrument will display the new, accurate moisture measurement.
