Important Safety Instructions

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS – To reduce the risks of fire or explosion, electric shock, and the injury to persons, read and understand all instructions included in this manual. Be familiar with the controls and the proper usage of the equipment.
WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire or explosion:

  1. Do not spray flammable or combustible materials near an open flame or sources of ignition such as cigarettes, motors, and electrical equipment.
  2. For units intended for use with only water-based materials – Do not spray or clean with flammable liquids. For use with water-based liquids only.
  3. For units intended for use with only water-based or mineral spirit-type materials with a minimum flash point of 38°C – Do not spray or clean with liquids having a flash point less than 38°C.
  4. Paint or solvent flowing through the equipment is able to result in static electricity. Static electricity creates a risk of fire or explosion in the presence of paint or solvent fumes. All parts of the spray system, including the pump, spray gun, and objects in and around the spray area shall be properly grounded to protect against static discharge and sparks.
  5. Do not use a paint or a solvent containing halogenated hydrocarbons. See operating instructions for examples of these types of materials.
  6. Keep spray area well ventilated. Keep a good supply of fresh air moving through the area. Keep pump assembly in a well ventilated area. Do not spray pump assembly.
  7. Do not smoke in the spray area.
  8. Do not operate light switches, engines, or similar spark producing products in the spray area.
  9. Keep area clean and free of paint or solvent containers, rags, and other flammable materials.
  10. Know the contents of the paints and solvents being sprayed. Read all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and container labels provided with the paints and solvents. Follow the paint and solvent manufacturer’s safety instructions.
  11. Fire extinguisher equipment shall be present and working.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of skin injection:

  1. Do not aim the gun at, or spray any person or animal.
  2. Keep hands and other body parts away from the discharge. For example, do not try to stop leaks with any part of the body.
  3. Always use the nozzle tip guard. Do not spray without nozzle tip guard in place.
  4. Only use a nozzle tip specified by the manufacturer.
  5. Use caution when cleaning and changing nozzle tips. In the case where the nozzle tip clogs while spraying, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for turning off the unit and relieving the pressure before removing the nozzle tip to clean.
  6. Do not leave the unit energized or under pressure while unattended. When the unit is not in use, turn off the unit and relieve the pressure in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. High-pressure spray is able to inject toxins into the body and cause serious bodily injury. In the event that injection occurs, seek medical attention immediately.
  8. Verify that all connections are secure before operating the unit.
  9. Know how to stop the unit and bleed pressure quickly. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of injury:

  1. Always wear appropriate gloves, eye protection, and a respirator or mask when painting.
  2. Do not operate or spray near children. Keep children away from equipment at all times.
  3. Do not overreach or stand on an unstable support. Keep effective footing and balance at all times.
  4. Stay alert and watch what you are doing.
  5. Do not operate the unit when fatigued or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  6. Household use only.
  7. Try paot ers the wis is is siting goate quate octay to ping proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
  8. Take precautionary measures against potential hazards from the spray liquid and follow any instructions given on containers or laid down by the manufacturer of the liquid.

Material Preparation

Coating Materials Suitable for Use
Water-based and solvent-based paints, finishes, primers, 2-component paints, clear finishes, automotive finishes, staining sealers and wood sealer- preservatives.

Preparation of the Coating Materials
The enclosed spray attachment can be used to spray paints, varnishes and glazes that are undiluted or slightly diluted.

  1. Stir the material up and put the required amount into the paint container.

FIG-4

  1. If the convey capacity is too low, add 5-10% dilution step-by-step until the convey capacity fulflls your requirements.
Note: Do not over dilute the paint, which will reduce the paint performance. Never exceed the dilution advice on the paint container. If the paint can’t spray out, change the nozzle to a bigger one. If still can’t spray out, this spray gun may not suitable for this paint or there is something wrong on the spray gun.

  • Unscrew the container from the spray gun.
  • Aligning suction tube. (Fig. 2)
  • When working on lying objects: turn the suction tube forwards. (Fig. 2 A)
  • Spraying work when working on overhead objects: Turn the suction tube rearwards. (Fig. 2 B)
  • Place the container on a sheet of paper, pour in the prepared coating material and screw the container tightly onto the spray gun.
  • Put the machine down on a level surface. Otherwise the machine could tip over!
  • Adjust the spray setting on the spray gun.

Spraying

  • Three different spray jet settings can be chosen on the spray gun, depending on the application and target object.
  • Selecting the Spray Setting
    • Fig. 3 A = horizontal fat jet
    • Fig. 3 B = circular jet
    • Fig. 3 C = vertical fat jet
  • The spray pattern indication can be found on the front part of the sprayer. With the arrowhead towards the air cap ears.

WARNING! Danger of injury! Never pull the trigger guard while adjusting the air cap.

Adjusting the Material Volume (Fig. 5)
Set the material volume by turning the flow knob (9) on the trigger.

  • – turn downward → lower material volume
  • + turn upward › higher material volume
Note: Small material volume can help get a fine finish.

Spray Technique

  • The spray result depends heavily on the smoothness and cleanliness of the surface to be sprayed
Therefore, the surface should be carefully prepared and kept free of dust.

  • Cover all surfaces not to be sprayed.

  • Cover screw threads or similar parts of the target object.

  • It is advisable to test the spray gun on cardboard or a similar surface to find the correct setting.
Important: Begin spraying outside of the target area and avoid interruptions inside the target area.

    • Correct (Fig. 6a): Be sure to hold the spray gun at an even distance of approx. 10-30cm to the target object.
    • Incorrect (Fig. 6b): Heavy spray fog build-up, uneven surface quality.
    • Move the spray gun evenly cross-wise or up-and-down, depending on the spray pattern setting.
    • An even movement of the spray gun results in an even surface quality.
    • When coating material builds up on the nozzle (A) and air cap (B) (Fig. 7), clean both parts.

Cleaning

Paran yaris is toceptuits or improper or no ration of the paint application device. No

  1. Unplug the power plug.

  2. Divide the spray gun. Press the Release button (Fig. 8) downwards, pull out the front part of the spray gun.

  3. Unscrew the container. Empty any remaining coating material back into the material tin.

  5. Pour solvent or water into the container. Screw the container back on. Use only solvents with a flashpoint over 55°C.

  6. Assemble the gun again.

  7. Insert the power plug, turn on the machine and spray the solvent or water into a container or a cloth.

  8. Repeat the above procedure until the solvent or water emerging from the nozzle is clear.

  9. Turn off the machine and remove the plug.
    CAUTION!

    • Never clean seals and nozzle or air holes of the spray gun with metal objects.
    • The seal parts are only solvent-resistant to a limited extent. Do not immerse in solvent, only wipe.
WARNING! Never hold the spray gun rear part under water or immerse it into liquids. Clean the housing only with a moistened cloth.
  10. Clean the outside of the spray gun and container with a cloth soaked in solvent or water.

  11. Unscrew the union nut and remove the air cap and nozzle. Clean the air cap and nozzle with a brush and solvent or water.
