Usage Instructions

1. Step 1: Install Button Max Custom Firmware
   To begin using the myStrom Button Max Tool, you need to install the Button Max Custom Firmware on your device. You can download the firmware from the official myStrom website here. Follow the instructions provided by myStrom to install the firmware on your device.

2. Step 2: Connect myStrom Button Max Tool with a Button Max
   Make sure that both your myStrom Button Max Tool and your Button Max are connected to the same network as your PC/Mac. This is necessary for them to communicate with each other.

3. Step 3: Add your first screen
   To start customizing your myStrom Button Max, right-click on the tool interface to display further options. You can add screens and define their properties such as name, icon, and text. Screens can be part of a slideshow.

4. Step 4: Define an icon
   You can add icons to your screens by selecting the “Add an icon” option. Custom icons need to be 1-bit, black & white .bmp files. The file size and name conventions are as follows:

   • Small : 44 x 44 px, file name ends in -small
   • Medium : 132 x 132 px, file name ends in -medium
   • Large : 200 x 200 px, file name ends in -large
     You can find the custom icon folder where you store your icons by clicking on the “Show directory” option.

5. Step 5: Define an interaction
   For each screen, you can define an interaction that occurs when the myStrom Button Max is pressed. This can be done by selecting the desired action from the available options such as going to another screen or making an HTTP request.

6. Step 6: Define a Button action
   To define a Button action, choose the HTTP option from the available actions. This allows you to send an HTTP command when the myStrom Button Max is pressed.

7. Step 7: Choose an HTTP method
   Select the appropriate HTTP method for your command. The available options are GET and POST.

8. Step 8: Enter your command
   Enter the command that you want to execute when the myStrom Button Max is pressed. Depending on the device you are controlling, different commands may be required. You can find a list of commands for myStrom devices at api.mystrom.ch

9. Step 9: Sync your configuration
   To save your configuration and synchronize it with your myStrom Button Max, press CTRL-P / CMD-P or click on the sync button provided in the tool interface.

Install Button Max Custom Firmware

• Download the Firmware on https://mystrom.ch/de/support/mystrom-button-max-tool/
• Power Button Max
• If you haven’t done it already: Add Button Max to your WiFi via myStrom App, myStrom Troubleshooting Tool or its Web UI
• Access Button Max Web UI by entering its IP address in a web browser
• Select “Firmware Upgrade” in Burger Menu
• Select “Downloaded File“, select the Custom Firmware, start firmware upgrade
• Wait for Firmware upgrade to finish > Button Max reboots
• Button Max is now available in myStrom Button Max Tool
• Connect myStrom Button Max Tool with a Button Max. They have to be on the same network as your PC/Mac.
• Add your first screen.
• This displays the screen’s settings. Every screen has Content (graphics – icons and text) and Buttons (interactions).

• Add an icon.
• Show directory displays the custom icon folder where you store your custom icons.
• Now let’s define a Button action. Choose HTTP.
• Choose an HTTP method.
• This will make Button 1 toggle a myStrom WiFi Switch. List of commands at the end.
• Sync. Et voilà, your own custom Button Max.
