Product Usage Instructions
Connection:
To connect the monitor to your computer or gaming console, follow these
steps:
- Place the monitor on a stable surface.
- Connect the power adapter to the DC-IN port on the back of the monitor.
- If using a power cord, connect it to the power adapter and a power outlet.
- Connect the appropriate cable (DisplayPort or HDMI) from your computer or gaming console to the corresponding port on the back of the monitor.
- If using an earphone, connect it to the earphone jack on the back of the monitor (only available when an HDMI/DisplayPort cable is connected).
Power On/Off:
To power on/off the monitor, use the power button located on the front:
- Power On: Press the power button. The power indicator will turn white.
- Power Off: Press the power button again. The power indicator will turn amber in standby mode or turn off completely if there is no signal.

Safety information
- Before setting up the monitor, carefully read all the documentation that came with the package.
- To prevent fire or shock hazards, never expose the monitor to rain or moisture.
- Never try to open the monitor cabinet. The dangerous high voltages inside the monitor may result in serious physical injury.
- If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact a qualified service technician or your retailer.
- Before using the product, make sure all cables are correctly connected and the power cables are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact your dealer immediately.
- Slots and openings on the back or top of the cabinet are provided for ventilation. Do not block these slots. Never place this product near or over a radiator or heat source unless proper ventilation is provided.

- Adjustment of the volume control as well as the equalizer to other settings than the center position may increase the ear-/headphone output voltage and therefore the sound pressure level.
- Ensure to connect the power cord to a socket outlet with an earthing connection.

Care & Cleaning
- Before you lift or reposition your monitor, it is better to disconnect the cables and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor. When lifting or carrying the monitor, grasp the edges of the monitor. Do not lift the display by the stand or the cord.
- Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the power cord. Clean the monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.
- Avoid using a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner intended for use with the monitor. Never spray cleaner directly on the screen, as it may drip inside the monitor and cause an electric shock.
The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:
- You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on the desktop pattern you use.
- When the same image is displayed for hours, an afterimage of the previous screen may remain after switching the image. The screen will recover slowly or you can turn off the Power Switch for hours.
- When the screen becomes black flashes, or cannot work anymore, contact your dealer or service center to fix it. Do not repair the screen by yourself!

- Turn on the OSD menu. Enacts the selected OSD menu item.

- Earphone jack. This port is only available when an HDMI/DisplayPort cable is connected.
- DC-IN port. This port connects the power adapter and/or the power cord.
- DisplayPort. This port is for connection to a DisplayPort-compatible device.
- HDMI-1 port. This port is for connection with an HDMI-compatible device.
- HDMI-2 port. This port is for connection with an HDMI-compatible device.
- USB 2.0 Type-A. This port is for service only.
- Kensington lock slot.

Assembling the monitor arm/base
To assemble the monitor base:
- Have the front of the monitor face down on a table.
- Place the arm hinge of the stand assembly onto its compartment on the rear of the monitor.
- Attach the base into the arm, making sure the tab on the arm fits into the groove on the base.
- Fix the base to the arm by fastening the bundled screw(s).
We recommend that you cover the table surface with soft cloth to prevent damage to the monitor.
- Hinge screw size: M4 x 8 mm.
- Base screw size: M6 x 16.2 mm.
Adjusting the monitor
- For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you.
- Hold the stand to prevent the monitor from falling when you change its angle.
- The recommended adjusting angle is +20˚ to -5˚.
- It is normal that the monitor slightly shakes while you adjust the viewing angle.
Detaching the arm (for VESA wall mount)
The detachable arm/base of this monitor is specially designed for VESA wall mount.
To detach the arm/base:
- Have the front of the monitor face down on a table.
- Loosen the screw on the base. (Figure 1)
- Remove the base (Figure 1).
- Use a screwdriver to remove the screw(s) on the hinge (Figure 2), then remove the hinge.
We recommend that you cover the table surface with a soft cloth to prevent damage to the monitor.
- The VESA wall mount kit (100 x 100 mm) is purchased separately.
- Use only the UL Listed Wall Mount Bracket with a minimum weight/load of 22.7kg (Screw size: M4 x 10 mm)
Connecting the cables
Connect the cables as per the following instructions:
- To connect the power cord:
- Connect the power adapter securely to the monitor’s DC input.
- Connect one end of the power cord to the power adapter and the other end to a power outlet.
- To connect the DisplayPort/HDMI cable:
- Plug one end of the DisplayPort/HDMI cable to the monitor’s DisplayPort/HDMI port.
- Connect the other end of the DisplayPort/HDMI cable to your computer’s DisplayPort/HDMI port.
- To use the earphone: connect the end with plug type to the monitor’s earphone jack when an HDMI or DisplayPort signal is fed.
- When these cables are connected, you can choose the desired signal from the Input Select item in the OSD menu.
- If you need to replace the power cord or the connection cable(s), please contact ASUS customer service.
Turning on the monitor
Press the power button for the location of the power button. The power indicator lights up in white to show that the monitor is ON.
OSD (On-Screen Display) menu
How to reconfigure
- Press the ) button to activate the OSD menu.
- Move the ) button up/down to navigate through the functions. Highlight the desired function and press the ) button to activate it. If the function selected has a sub-menu, move the ) button up/down again to
- Move the ) button up/down to change the settings of the selected function.
- To exit and save the OSD menu, press the button or move the ) left repeatedly until the OSD menu disappears. To adjust other functions, repeat steps 1-3.

Gaming

Overclocking:
- ON: This function allows you to adjust the refresh rate.
- Max Refresh Rate: Allows you to select a maximum refresh rate of 170Hz (Only for DisplayPort input). After selecting, press the ) button to activate the setting.
Overclocking may cause screen flickering. To reduce such effects, disconnect the DisplayPort cable and use the monitor OSD menu to try again with a safer Max. Refresh rate.

Variable OD: Improves the gray level response time of the LCD panel. The adjusting range is from Level 0 to Level 5.
- This function is not available when ELMB is enabled.

AMD FreeSync Premium : Allows an Adaptive-Sync supported* graphics source to dynamically adjust display refresh rate based on typical content frame rates for power efficient, virtually stutter and low-latency display update.
- AMD FreeSync Premium can only be activated within 48Hz~144Hz for HDMI and 48Hz~170Hz for DisplayPort.
- For supported GPUs, minimum PC systems, and driver requirements, please contact the GPU manufacturers.

ELMB: ELMB can only be activated when AMD FreeSync Premium is Off and the refresh rate is 120Hz, 144Hz, 155Hz, 160Hz, 165Hz or 170Hz. This function eliminates screen tearing and reduces ghosting and motion blur when playing games. The function includes 3-level clarity and position adjustment.

GamePlus: The GamePlus function provides a toolkit and creates a better gaming environment for users when playing different types of games.
- FPS Counter: The FPS (frames per second) counter lets you know how smoothly the game is running.
- Crosshair: The crosshair overlays with 6 different crosshair options letting you choose the one that best suits the game you’re playing.
- Timer: You can position the timer on the upper left corner of the display so you can keep track of the gaming time.
- Stopwatch: You can position the stopwatch on the upper left corner of the display so you can keep track of the gaming time.
- Display Alignment: Display Alignment displays alignment lines on 4 sides of the screen, serving as an easy and handy tool for you to line up multiple monitors perfectly.

- In the Racing Mode, the following function(s) are not user-configurable: Saturation, ASCR.
- In the sRGB Mode, the following function(s) are not user-configurable: Contrast, Saturation, Color Temp., ASCR.

- Shadow Boost: Dark color enhancement adjusts the monitor gamma curve to enrich the dark tones in an image, making dark scenes and objects much easier to see.
This function is only available in Racing Mode, RTS/RPG Mode, FPS Mode, or sRGB Mode.

- Brightness: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
- Contrast: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
- VividPixel: E nhances the outline of the displayed picture and generates high-quality images on the screen.
- HDR Setting: Contains two HDR modes.

- Brightness Adjustable: The HDR brightness can be adjusted when the Brightness Adjustable function is enabled.
- ASCR: Turns on/off the ASCR (ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio) function.
- Aspect Control : Adjusts the aspect ratio to Full, or Equivalent.
- Blue Light Filter
- Level 0: No change.
- Level 1~4: The higher the level, the less blue light is scattered. When Blue Light Filter is activated, the default settings of Racing Mode will be automatically imported. Between Level 1 to Level 3, the Brightness function is user-configurable. Level 4 is an optimized setting. It complies with TUV Low Blue Light Certification. The Brightness function is not user-configurable.
- Users should take some time away from the display if working for long hours. It is advised to take short breaks (at least 5 mins) after around 1 hour of continuous working at the computer. Taking short and frequent breaks is more effective than a single longer break.
- To minimize eye strain and dryness in your eyes, users should rest the eye periodically by focusing on objects that are far away.
- Eye exercises can help to reduce eye strain. Repeat these exercises often. If eye strain continues please consult a physician. Eye exercises: (1) Repeating look up and down (2) Slowly roll your eyes (3) Move your eyes diagonally.
- High-energy blue light may lead to eye strain and AMD (Age-Related Macular Degeneration). Blue light Filter to reduce 70% (max.) harmful blue light to avoid CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome).
Color
Set a desired color setting from this menu.
- Color Temp.: Contains 4 modes including Cool, Normal, Warm, and User Mode.
- Saturation: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
Input Select
In this function, you can select your desired input source and toggle the
Auto Input Detection function between on and off.
- Auto Input Detection: When enabled, the system will automatically select the latest inserted I/O port.

When a certain function is selected or activated, your shortcut button may not support. Sound: Sets the sound-related settings from this menu.
- Volume: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
- Mute: Toggles the monitor sound between on and off.

Power Key Lock: Enables or disables the power key.

Key Lock: To disable all function keys. Press the down button for more than 5 seconds to cancel the key lock function.

Power Setting:
- Standard Mode: Normal power consumption.
- Power Saving Mode: Reduces power consumption.
Certain functions that consume power will be disabled when Power Saving Mode is selected. If you wish to enable the functions, choose Standard Mode. Please turn off the HDR function before activating the Power Saving Mode.

OSD Setup:
- Adjusts the OSD position.
- Adjusts the OSD timeout from 10 to 120 seconds.
- Enables or disables the DDC/CI function.
- Adjust the OSD background from opaque to transparent.

DisplayPort Stream: Compatibility with graphic card. Select DisplayPort 1.1, DisplayPort 1.2 or DisplayPort 1.2+HDR by graphic card DP version.
DisplayPort 1.1 is only available when OverClocking and Adaptive-Sync (DP)/ Variable Refresh Rate are off. -
