Product Usage Instructions

1. Opening the Umbrella:

To open the umbrella, follow these steps:

1. Ensure you have at least 3.5 feet (100 cm) of space in front, left, and right of you.
2. Hold the handle firmly with one hand.
3. Press the button located on the handle to release the locking mechanism.
4. Gently push the umbrella upward until it fully extends and locks into place.

2. Closing the Umbrella:

To close the umbrella, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Ensure there is no one or any objects within the opening arc of the umbrella.
• Point the umbrella away from you and others.
• Hold the handle firmly with one hand.
• Locate the closing mechanism on the handle or canopy.
• Press or slide the closing mechanism to release the lock.
• Gently guide the canopy downward while keeping your fingers away from the ribs.
• Ensure the umbrella is fully closed and secure before storing it.

3. General Safety Precautions:

• Always point the umbrella forward and away from you when opening and closing.
• Never close the umbrella by grabbing the ribs as it may cause injury.
• Wait until you are outside of the room or building before opening the umbrella.
• Give yourself enough space to avoid any obstacles or collisions when opening the umbrella.
• Remember that it can be challenging to navigate doorways while holding an open umbrella.

SAFETY WARNING:

Always point the umbrella forward and away from you when opening and closing. The umbrella has a spring and can be opened very quickly. Allow at least 3,5 feet (100 cm) of space in front, left, and right of you when opening.

INSTRUCTIONS

Opening:

1. Remove the carry sleeve from the umbrella. Open the closing strap, surrounding the umbrella. When the umbrella is closed up the ribs can sometimes get caught in the fabric or on one another. To prevent this, please give your umbrella a little shake to free the ribs before opening it. This will lower the risk of bending or breaking the ribs.
2. Royal Walk umbrellas have an automatic opening function and can be opened normally. Your umbrella should be affixed with a small button on its stick near the handle. Press this button while pushing the umbrella away from yourself and any potential passersby.
3. Do not point the umbrella toward your face or the face of any other human being while attempting to open it.

Remember to point your umbrella forward when opening it. Umbrellas can be dangerous if aimed thoughtlessly. If not, the wind could catch it and turn it inside out, or you could get hurt.

Closing:

1. With the umbrella pointing away from you, using one hand grasping the handle, take the palm of your other hand and place it at the inner spinner of the umbrella, and smoothly close it down to fix with the stick pin, placed right over the open button.
2. Make sure this is done slowly to prevent the ribs from getting caught in the fabric or on one another.
3. Take some time to carefully roll the fabric to prevent it from creasing. This will make your umbrella look new for much longer.
4. Secure the fabric with the closing strap.

Dry your umbrella:

• Never leave your umbrella wet and creased up. This may eventually cause damage to the fabric of the umbrella and on the steel frame parts.
• Before putting back the umbrella into the carry sleeve, please leave it open to dry naturally.
• Avoid water on the underside of your umbrella and then close it.
• Leave your umbrella to dry away from direct sunlight to prevent the colors from fading.

Clean your umbrella:

• We recommend you to clean the fabric using water only. You can soak the umbrella in a large tub and wash the surface of the umbrella carefully with a soft sponge.
• Once the umbrella is clean, it is important that you leave it fully open until the umbrella is completely dry.

Store your umbrella the correct way:

• Your umbrella came in a nice cover that should be used to store the umbrella.
• Store your umbrella in a cool, dark place such a closet.
• Do not lean your umbrella against a radiator to dry or any other indirect heat sources.
• Do not leave your umbrella in a hot car. Prolonged exposure to heat can cause damage to your umbrella.
• Do not store your umbrella in direct sunlight as it can cause the colours on the canopy to fade.

NOTE:

1. Never close the umbrella by grabbing the ribs!
2. Wait until you are outside of the room where you were just standing before opening the umbrella. Wait until you are all the way outside. At the very least, wait until you are in a foyer or a doorway. Remember: it is difficult to walk through a door with an umbrella!
