Future home – Use cases & instructions
A future home smart hub is the most user-friendly smart home control unit. The smart hub communicates wirelessly with devices that work with Z-Wave, Zigbee, IP, and cloud services. This document describes unique use cases and instructions with Future home.

Smoke detectors with Future home

Stay informed and equip the home with devices to detect, warn and stop potential safety risks such as fire and flooding. With the Alarm service, the Future home Hub automatically recognizes the smoke detectors. This allows you to easily set the actions to be taken in case of imminent danger. When detecting imminent danger the alarm service can operate the following devices: lights, switches, wall plugs, thermostats, and siren(s).

  • Lighting
  • Switches and Wall Plugs
  • Thermostats
  • Sirens

By default, all lights go on, sirens are activated and thermostats and switches are turned off.

Instruction connect Z-Wave smoke detector:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Add New Device > Z-Wave
  • Start the add procedure of the device
  • After successful addition, you can assign a name and room to the device

Instruction Alarm service

  • Go to Settings > Alarm settings > Activate the Alarm Service

  • Check the settings and adjust the following options to the desired actions:
    o Test local fire alarm
    o What should happen in the event of a fire
    o What should happen after Fire
    o Alarm subscription – this is not (yet) available outside of Norway

  • Save the settings

Climate management with Future home

Controlling your heating system is a great way to keep the house comfortable and environmentally friendly.
Instruction connecting Z-Wave thermostat:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Add New Device > Z-Wave
  2. Start the add procedure of the device
  3. After successful addition, you can assign a name and room to the device

Instruction heating settings based on Modes:

  1. Go to Settings > Modes & Shortcuts > Edit modes home
  2. Set the desired temperature per room
  3. Save the settings
  4. Change this per mode and repeat the above steps

Instruction heating settings based on time:

  • Go to Settings > Automation
  • Select the desired time and days
  • Select the ‘Away’ mode to switch off the heating when you are absent

Energy management – Tibber & Future home

Connect Tibber with Future home
The Future home hub can be connected to Tibber as a Power-up. The Power-up gives you access to the following functions:

  1. Smart heating control: Control the heating automatically based on the electricity price and avoid heating the home when the electricity price is at its most expensive.
  2. Day mode: Automatically reduces the temperature when you are not at home
  3. Night mode: Automatically reduces the temperature at night
  4. Away mode: Put your home in sleep mode when you are away for a long time.By connecting Futurehome X to
    Tibber, you can get electricity prices integrated into your smart home system and build your own logic around this.

Instruction:

  1. Open the Tibber App > Power Ups > find the Power-Up Futurehome X and tap Connect
  2. Log in with the data from the Future home App.
  3. Go back to the Home screen > select the Thermostat > test the controls
    Tibber can control the heating in your house in a smart way.

Connecting Futurehome with Tibber Pulse

With the Tibber Pulse plugin, you can connect Tibber Pulse to the Future home hub. This allows you to monitor the energy consumption in your home in real- time and add automation.

Instruction:

  1. Go to Settings > Playground > Tibber Pulse > Tap install
  2. Then tap the ‘three dots’ icon and log in with the Tibber account
  3. Go to advanced settings and select the Tibber Pulse you want to add to the Future home hub
  4. Save the settings
    When logging in successfully, Tibber Pulse will be added. Set the device as ‘meter’ and ‘main_elec’, assign the device to a room and save the settings.

Energy management – Easee & Future home

With the Easy integration, you can request real-time charging data, including charging status, charging amount, and charging speed from the Easee charging station. In addition,  you can start and stop charging via the Future home app and automation.
Instruction:

  1. Go to Settings > Playground > Easee > Tap Install
  2. Then tap on the ‘three dots’ icon and log in with your Easee account
  3. On successful addition, you can assign a name and room to your device
