About the SOWA speakers:
How big is the SOWA speaker?
The SOWA speaker is 26x26x25cm and weighs 6 kg. There is a handle at the bottom of the cabinet so you can easily transport it.
Do I have to buy a stand for the speaker?
No – you can easily leave SOWA speakers standing on the floor or any other flat surface. If you would like a stand, our speakers fit all standard stands (35mm) and we also produce our own stands if you want it to look extra nice. You can add the stand to the shopping cart or directly at https://sowasound.com/vare/sowa-stand/
Is the speaker waterproof?
No, SOWA speakers are not waterproof as they are built in solid plywood.
Can the speaker be taken on a plane?
Yes! Our speakers are approved to take on planes both as hand luggage and in checked luggage.
How long does the speaker battery last?
The speaker’s battery life is +25 hours at 80% volume.
What kind of wood is SOWA made of?
SOWA’s speaker cabinets are made of 100% solid birch plywood, which creates the beautiful stripes on the side of the speaker.
Using SOWA speakers:
What is the difference between ‘host’ and ‘join’?
SOWA speakers can play together wirelessly and they do this by having one of the speakers set as ‘host’ and transmit the information about what is to be played to the other connected speakers which are set in ‘join’. If you only use a single speaker, it will always be in ‘host’, but if you use several speakers, the speaker you connect to will be the ‘host’ speaker, while the remaining speakers must be in ‘join’ to play along. You can change whether a speaker is set in ‘host’ or ‘join’ with a button on the back of the speaker.
How do I connect my phone to the speaker?
You can connect your phone either via Bluetooth or an old-fashioned mini-jack cable. To connect with Bluetooth, turn on Bluetooth by pressing the Bluetooth button on the back of your SOWA speaker and find the speaker under your Bluetooth settings on your phone. If you want to play on several speakers at once, make sure that it is your ‘host’ speaker that connects to your phone. If you want to use the mini-jack, you must again make sure that it is the speaker set in ‘host’ that you plug into if you want to play on several speakers at the same time.
How do I connect via Bluetooth?
To connect with Bluetooth, turn on Bluetooth by pressing the Bluetooth button on the back of your SOWA speaker and find the speaker under your Bluetooth settings on your phone. If you want to play on several speakers at once, make sure that it is your ‘host’ speaker that connects to your phone.
How do I connect multiple speakers so they play at the same time?
Start by switching on one speaker and make sure it is in ‘host’ – you can check this on the interface on the back of the speaker. Then switch on the remaining speakers and make sure they are all in ‘join’. If you turn them on immediately after the ‘host’ speaker, they will connect automatically, but if they don’t, simply click the Link button on the back of both the ‘host’ speaker and the speaker you want to connect in ‘join’.
How do I adjust the sound on my speakers?
– You can adjust the sound directly on the speaker on the volume button on the
back of the cabinet on the ‘host’ speaker. Here you can adjust the sound on
all speakers at the same time. You can also adjust the sound on your connected
device, for example your phone.
– With SOWA Pro, the volume of the individual speaker can be adjusted
independently of the other speakers under the ‘local controls’ section on the
back.
Can I listen to music in several rooms at once?
Yes. SOWA Link makes it easy to play the same sound in several rooms at once due to the speakers’ very high range. You can connect as many speakers as you like – there is no limit!
How many speakers can I connect at once?
As many as you want! There is no limit to how many SOWA speakers can play together at once.
How do I improve my wireless speaker setup?
If you experience problems with your wireless setup, you can visit https://docs.sowasound.com/ for our tips for a better sound setup.
How do I connect a microphone to the speakers?
The SOWA Pro has an XLR port on the back which can be used to connect both a standard microphone and a boom microphone. The SOWA speaker cannot connect to a microphone.
Can I play different sounds on different speakers at the same time?
Definitely! You can play four systems simultaneously by using different channels. If you already have a group of speakers in one room playing together, simply switch on a new speaker and set it to ‘host’. To start with, it will connect to the existing system, but if you press the Link button, a section on the volume button will start flashing. This indicates which channel the speaker is playing on. If you turn the volume knob, you can change the channel on the speaker. Make sure that all speakers you want to connect to the new system in ‘join’ are on the same channel as the ‘host’ speaker and then you are ready to play different sounds in different rooms.
Which cable is used to charge a SOWA speaker?
The SOWA speakers are charged with a DC cable with 26 volts and 2 amps. If you have lost your cable, you can contact us at info@sowasound.com and order a new cable for a fee.
How long does a SOWA speaker need to charge to be fully charged?
