Product Safety
When using the Stand Mixer, it is important to follow these safety precautions:

  1. Read all instructions carefully to avoid personal injury.
  2. This appliance should not be used by children. Keep it out of their reach.

  4. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified persons.

Electrical Requirements
To ensure safety and proper functioning, follow these electrical requirements:

  • Plug the Stand Mixer into an earthed outlet.
  • Do not remove the earth prong or use an adapter or extension cord.
  • The voltage should be 220 – 240 V and the frequency should be 50 – 60 Hz.
  • The wattage of the Stand Mixer is 250 W.
  • Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance.

Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Assembly

  1. Place the Stand Mixer on a stable and flat surface.
  2. Insert the attachment hub into the motor head until it clicks into place.
  3. Select the desired attachment (e.g., flat beater, wire whip, dough hook) and insert it into the attachment hub.
  4. Tighten the attachment knob to secure the attachment in place.

Step 2: Mixing Bowl

  1. Place the bowl clamping plate on the motor head.
  2. Position the bowl on the bowl clamping plate and rotate it clockwise until it locks into place.
  3. Ensure that the bowl is securely attached before proceeding.

Step 3: Speed Control

  1. Turn the speed control lever to the desired speed setting. The Stand Mixer offers multiple speed options for different mixing tasks.

Step 4: Mixing

  1. Add the ingredients to the mixing bowl.
  2. Lower the attachment into the bowl and start the Stand Mixer.
  3. Monitor the mixing process and adjust the speed as needed.

Step 5: Cleaning

  1. Before cleaning, always unplug the Stand Mixer and remove any attachments.
  2. Wipe the motor head and surfaces with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash the bowl and attachments with warm soapy water or follow the instructions in the Care and Cleaning section.
  4. Allow all parts to dry completely before storing.

NOTE : The power rating for your Stand Mixer is printed on the serial plate. Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance. The maximum rating is based on the attachment that draws the greatest load (power). Other recommended attachments may draw significantly less power.

SPEED CONTROL GUIDE

All speeds have the Soft Start feature, which automatically starts the Stand Mixer at a lower speed to help avoid ingredient splash-out and “flour puff” at start-up, then quickly increases to the selected speed for optimal performance.

PRODUCT ASSEMBLY

  1. Unplug and turn the Stand Mixer to “0”.
  2. Unlock and lift the Motor Head. Then, lock* the head to keep it lifted.
  3. Place the Bowl on the Clamping Plate and twist to lock in place.
  4. Slide and rotate the accessory aligning over the pin on the shaft.
  5. Unlock the Motor Head and move it down. Then, lock the head to keep it down. Before mixing, test lock by attempting to raise the Motor Head.

*Locking option is available on selected models.

( OPTIONAL ) To Adjust the Beater to Bowl Clearance: Tilt and lock* the motor head back. Turn the screw slightly counterclockwise (left) to raise the beater, or clockwise (right) to lower it.

NOTE : If you over-adjust the screw, the bowl lock lever may not lock into place.

( OPTIONAL ) Place the Pouring Shield: Slide the Pouring Shield from front of the Stand Mixer over the Bowl. The bottom rim of the Pouring Shield** fits inside of the Bowl.

PRODUCT USAGE

  1. Plug it into an earthed outlet. Start with a lower speed to avoid splashing and increase it gradually. Refer to the “Speed Control Guide”.
    Injury Hazard Unplug the mixer before touching the beaters. Failure to do so can result in broken bones, cuts, or bruises.

  2. Do not scrape the Bowl while operating. Scraping the Bowl once or twice during mixing is usually sufficient. ( OPTIONAL ): Pour ingredients into the Bowl through the Pouring Chute**.

DISASSEMBLING THE PRODUCT

  1. Turn the Stand Mixer “0” and unplug. Unlock and lift the Motor Head. Then, lock* the head to keep it lifted. ( OPTIONAL ): Lift the front of the Pouring Shield* clear of the rim of the Bowl. Pull away from the Stand Mixer.
    A locking option is available on selected models.
    **Accessory sold separately.

  2. Press the accessory upward, turn it, and pull it away from the Beater Shaft.

  3. Twist to unlock the Bowl from the Clamping Plate.

OPTIONAL ATTACHMENTS
KitchenAid offers a wide range of optional attachments such as the Spiralizer, Pasta Cutters, or Food Grinder that may be attached to the Stand Mixer attachment power hub as shown here.

  1. Turn the Stand Mixer to “0” and unplug.
  2. Remove the Attachment Hub cover.
  3. Insert attachment into Attachment Hub, making certain that the attachment power shaft fits into the square Attachment Hub socket.
  4. Tighten the Attachment Knob by turning it clockwise until the attachment is secured to the Stand Mixer.

CARE AND CLEANING

IMPORTANT : Do not immerse the Stand Mixer body in water or other liquids.

  1. Turn the Stand Mixer to “0” and unplug.
  2. Dishwasher-safe parts, top rack only: Stainless Steel Bowl, Bowl Lid, Flat Beater, Dough Hook and Flex Edge Beater*.
  3. Wipe the Stand Mixer body with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. Clean the Wire Whip and Pouring Shield* thoroughly with hand wash only.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

WARNING

Problem Solution
If Stand Mixer warms up during use: Under heavy loads with extended mixing

time periods, you may not be able to comfortably touch the top of the unit. This is normal.
If the Flat Beater hits the Bowl:| Stop the Stand Mixer. See the “Product Assembly” section and adjust the Beater to Bowl Clearance.
The Speed Control Lever does not move smoothly or easily:| To move the Speed Control Lever with ease, lift slightly up as you move it across the settings in either direction.



If your Stand Mixer should fail to operate, please check the following:

| Is the Stand Mixer plugged in?
Is the fuse in the circuit to the Stand Mixer in working order? If you have a circuit breaker box, be sure the circuit is closed.
Turn off (0) the Stand Mixer for 10-15 seconds, then turn it back on. If the Stand Mixer still does not start, allow it to cool for 30 minutes before turning it back on.
If the problem cannot be corrected:| See the “Terms of KitchenAid Guarantee (“Guarantee”)” section. Do not return the Stand Mixer to the retailer; retailers do not provide service.
