Precautions for use

1. Use should pay attention to the different hard disk formats for different systems
   • HFS format: used on Mac systems
   • NTFS format: used on Windows systems
   • FAT32 / exFAT format: can be used on both Mac and Windows systems
2. When using a desktop computer, the USB cable connects to the HOST USB port on the rear panel of the computer.
3. (TCC-S862 only) When connecting to a computer via the eSATA port of the product, only the SATA hard drive can be read, and the IDE hard drive slot and integrated card reader do not work.
4. After the product is inserted into the hard disk and connected to the computer normally, you can read and transfer the external hard disk data on the computer without installing any driver or software. It is only necessary to install the OTB software on the computer in advance when using the OTB function (One-Touch Backup function).
5. When removing the hard drive, hold the docking station and remove the hard drive vertically.

Product use steps

• Step 1: Unpack the product, check that the accessories are complete, and check that the product is intact. Read the instruction manual in detail. Turn off the product’s power switch.

3.5 Inch IDE hard drive installation is relatively complicated (refer to the operation below)

Steps for usage: IDE hard drive installation examples

• (Due to the different 3.5-inch IDE hard drives, the distance between their 40-pin and 4-pin power pins is different. When installing a 3.5-inch IDE hard drive, adjust the button on the bottom of the product. When the hard drive is installed, the pin for the hard drive and docking station slot connections are exactly anastomosis.)
• When installing a 2.5-inch IDE hard drive, it can be inserted along the product’s positioning plate. If the back of the hard drive has a metal panel, remove the metal panel before the hard drive can be inserted normally. (As shown below)

• SATA hard drives are relatively simple to install.

• Visually check the position of the interface, insert the hard drive vertically into the groove of the hard drive base, and confirm that the hard drive and the connector are completely matched. (As shown below)

• Step 3: Connect the power adapter and check that the power adapter’s indicator (blue light) is steady on, indicating that the power adapter is powered.

• Step 4: Connect the dock to the computer with a USB cable. Connect the desktop computer to the Host USB port on the rear panel of the computer.

• Step 5: Turn on the product’s power switch and wait a few seconds for the computer to read the data from the external hard drive.

• When the red indicator light of the product lights up, it indicates that the product is properly powered. When the product’s blue light is always on, the product is properly connected. When the product blue light flashes, it indicates that the hard drive is reading and transferring data.

• Step 6: When you stop using it, turn off the product’s power switch before unplugging the hard drive.

OTB software installation and operation instructions

Step 1: Download the compressed version of the OTB software installation file. Please visit our service website and select the appropriate product model and file to download. Service website: www.tccmebius777.com The operation diagram is as follows:

Step 2: The OTB file downloaded from the website is a compressed version. First, unzip and then click on the “Install” file to start installing the software. Please refer to the figure below (English interface)

Step 3: After completing the installation, first make sure the hard drive is plugged into the dock and can be read normally on your computer. Then click the “PC Clone EX” icon on your computer or press the OTB button (red button) on the product. The OTB software window opens automatically. (As shown below)

Step 4: Click the icon of the management file to check whether the hard disk is read normally.

Step 5: Select the files you want to back up and the hard disks you need to back up.

Step 6: Select the destination of the backup.

Step 7: Click to clear the check box. Once saved, the selected file will not be hidden.

Step 8: The process is completed. The backup time depends on the size of the file. After the backup is complete, you can verify that the file backup was successful.

Frequent problems and solutions after using the product

1. If your hard drive is not partitioned or formatted, first operate the hard drive partition before you can read the hard disk normally.
2. Make sure that the hard drive is partitioned. After the computer is connected to the computer normally, the external hard drive is still not displayed on the computer.

Solution

• First check that the hard drive is in place. Pay special attention to the installation of the IDE hard drive. The pins of the hard drive must be completely connected to the slot of the docking product. Otherwise, the hard drive data cannot be read normally.
• Check if the USB cable is working properly (line change test).
• Check that the power adapter’s indicator is normal when the product is working.
• When the product is used in the WIN10 system, the hard drive cannot be read.

Solution

Go to Computer Management, click Disk Management, see the hard drive displayed offline, right-click Offline, and then select Online Click. (Cause: WIN10 system, when using the dual hard drive, it prompts “The disk has an offline signature conflict”, it means that the two hard drives use the same drive letter, so the system will automatically take it offline. When we right-click offline and then click online, The system will reallocate the drive letter to this hard drive, and it can be used normally.

• Because the computer’s USB driver has not been upgraded or there is a problem with the driver file, the hard drive may not be read normally. You can solve the problem by re-downloading the USB drive on your computer’s motherboard. The driver download file is not provided because the driver files of different motherboards are inconsistent and need to be resolved on their own..
• When using an IDE hard drive, check whether the hard drive is a “Slave/Cable select” setting. When the hard drive is set to “master”, the IDE hard drive does not work when used as an external hard drive of the computer. (As shown below)

• When the IDE hard drive is used as a computer external hard drive, please read the “Slave/Cable select” setting on the hard drive and set the hard drive as a slave drive. Then the product can read hard drive data normally.
