PRODUCT INFORMATION

SAFETY

  • The fitting should be installed by a qualified electrician.
  • This fitting is only suitable for connection to a 220V~50Hz earthed supply in accordance with current IEE wiring regulations and should be installed in accordance with local Building Regulations.
  • This is for domestic, indoor use only.
  • The fitting should be connected to a dedicated lighting circuit which must be protected by a 5-amp fuse (or a 6-amp miniature circuit breaker).
  • Before installing the fitting ensure the mains supply is switched off, and that the appropriate fuse is removed ( or the appropriate circuit breaker is switched off) before commencing installation. Ensure that measures are taken to prevent the supply from being inadvertently reconnected.
  • If there is a “Minimum Distance” Label, please do not allow Flammable Materials to rest within that distance from the lamps.
  • This product may contain delicate parts – be careful during handling and maintenance to avoid breakage.
  • If any modification is made to the fitting it will invalidate the warranty and may render the product unsafe.
  • A defective appliance may cause electric shock. Never switch on a defective appliance. Unplug the appliance from the mains or switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box before seeking assistance.
  • This product is IP44 rated, so no part of the installation is allowed to be within bathroom Zones 0, 1. Installation is permitted within Zone 2.
  • This product must be earthed.

BATHROOM ZONES

  • Zone 0: The interior of the bathtub or shower basin.
  • Zone 1: The area around the bathtub or shower basin up to a height of 2.25m above the floor
  • Zone 2 : The area stretching to 0.6m outside the bath or shower and above the bath or shower if over 2.25m

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT : Before commencing installation, ensure that there are no pipes or wires located behind the wall that you will be drilling into.

  • Ensure that the hanging location has been decided upon and marked clearly to avoid unwanted damage to the wall due to incorrect positioning.
  • Check there the mirror is not damaged before installation.
  • Take care unpacking, do not use a sharp blade to open it as this may damage the mirror and void your warranty.

For TAUMB500/TAUBB500
At the back of the mirror, there are 2 hanging hooks spaced across the top. To hang the mirror, two holes are required in the wall. Before drilling, ensure that no wires or pipes are behind the wall. If unsure, seek professional advice.

  1. Measure the distance between the center of the two hanging points.
  2. Make a note of the distance and mark their position on the wall. Use a spirit level to ensure that the marks are level.
  3. Drill the 2 holes into the wall at the position marked using a suitable drill bit.
  4. Insert the wall plugs into the holes.
  5. Insert the screws into the wall plugs, ensuring their heads are protruding by approximately 3mm.
  6. Check to ensure the screws line up correctly and the mirror can be safely hung from them.
  7. Carefully lower the mirror onto the 2 screws, ensuring that is secure and will not slide.
  8. In the installation, ensure that the infra-red sensor will be easily accessible and that at least 20cm of space is left around he sensor to ensure correct operation.

For TAUMB1200-TAUBB1200
The mirror is supplied with two hanging bars to mount the mirror onto the wall. At the back of the mirror, there are corresponding bars that are designed to slot into the hanging bars. To hang the mirror,5 holes are required in the wall. Before drilling, ensure that no wires or pipes are behind the wall. If unsure, seek professional advice.

  1. Choose the desired position of the mirror and from that determine the required position of the hanging bar.
  2. Hold the hanging bar-1 in position using a spirit level to ensure it is level.
  3. Use a pencil to mark the position of the 3 holes on the wall.
  4. Place the hanging bar to one side and drill the holes with a suitable drill bit.
  5. Insert wall plugs into the holes ensuring they are flush to the wall.
  6. Place the hanging bar onto the wall lining up the 3 holes with the wall plugs.
  7. On the back of the mirror, measure the distance from the center of the bar-1 to the bar-2
  8. Make a note of the distance and mark the position of the 2 holes on the wall according to the distance a
  9. Place the hanging bar-2 to one side and drill the holes with a suitable drill bit.
  10. Insert wall plugs into the holes ensuring they are flush to the wall.
  11. Place the hanging bar-2 onto the wall lining up the 2 holes with the wall plugs
  12. You will now be able to hang the mirror. Carefully lower the mirror onto the hanging bars. ensuring that it is secure and will not slide.
  13. The mirror should now be connected to a suitable fused spur following current regulations and guidance. We would advise for this to be situated directly behind the mirror below the hanging bar When connecting ensure that enough cable is left to allow the mirror to be safely removed from the hanging bar.
  14. In installation, ensure that the infrared sensor will be easily accessible and that at least 20cm of space is left around the sensor to ensure correct operation.

OPERATION

Your mirror comes with an infrared sensor located on the right-hand side for TAUMB500/TAUBB500, and on the left-hand side for TAUMB1200/TAUBB1200. To activate the light and demisting pad, move your hand across the sensor once at a distance of around 5cm.

To turn it off, move your hand across the sensor again Hold your hand in front of the sensor to change the color temperature of the light.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Never use products containing bleach or abrasive cleaners, as this will have a detrimental effect on the appearance and lifespan of the product.
  • Use a clean microfibre cloth to clean the mirror.
