SONY NSD-M1000 Wireless LAN Extender
Product Information
The Wireless LAN Extender (Model No. NSD-M1000) is a device that extends the
coverage of your wireless network. It allows you to connect to your existing
Wi-Fi network and enhance the signal strength and range.
Owner’s Record
The model and serial numbers are located on the bottom of the unit.
Record the serial number in the space provided below. Refer to these numbers
whenever you call upon your Sony dealer regarding this product.

Status Indicator
The status indicator on the Wireless LAN Extender provides visual cues about the unit’s operational status:
Color and State of Indicator | Description |

Flashes in green and red | Wireless LAN is not set up (default settings). |
Lights up in green | Connected in EasyMesh mode. |
Lights up in red | No connection with the wireless LAN router (base unit)/an |
invalid software update file received.
Flashes in orange| Start-up failed/software update failed.
Flashes in red| Pairing with the wireless LAN router (base unit) is in
progress.
Lights off| Power off.
Product Usage Instructions
Setting up on the ONU
Enable the Wi-Fi mesh function of the ONU (ONU Integrated High-speed Router) in the following steps.

Connect your smartphone or computer to the ONU via Wi-Fi.

After the connection is established, access the following URL on the browser of the smartphone or http://192.168.1.1

Enter the user name and the password to log in.
Find the password on the bottom exterior of the ONU -
After login, select [Detail Setting] – [Wi-Fi Mesh Function]

After login, select [Detail Setting] – [Wi-Fi Mesh Function] It may take about 30 seconds until the setting is completed.
Pairing
Pair the ONU and this unit (Wireless LAN Extender). There are two pairing methods; pairing by the WPS button and pairing by connecting the LAN cable.
Pairing by the WPS button:

Place the Wireless LAN Extender near the ONU.

Connect the supplied AC adaptor to the Wireless LAN Extender.
The status indicator on the rear of this unit flashes in orange, and then it flashes in green and red alternately. -
Press and hold the WPS button on the rear of the ONU for 5 seconds. The status indicator on the rear of this unit changes to flashing in green.

Press and hold the WPS button on the top of the Wireless LAN Extender for 5 seconds. The setting is completed when the status indicator on the rear of this unit lights up in green.

If the status indicator does not change to light up in green, disconnect the AC adaptor and repeat from step 2.
Note: There is an alternative pairing method using a LAN cable, which is not mentioned in the provided instructions. Please refer to the complete user manual for further details.

Pairing by connecting the LAN cable

Connect the supplied AC adaptor to this unit.
The status indicator on the rear of this unit flashes in orange, and then it flashes in green and red alternately. -
Connect this unit and the ONU with a LAN cable (not supplied).The setting is performed automatically, and the setting is completed when the status indicator on the rear of this unit lights up in green.
If the status indicator does not change to light up in green, disconnect the AC adaptor and the LAN cable, and repeat from step 1.
Deciding where to install this unit
After the setting is completed, disconnect the AC adaptor once and place
this unit on the middle point between your computer or smartphone and the ONU.
By keeping a moderate distance from the ONU, a wide area of Wi-Fi
communication is attained.

Safety Information
If any abnormalities occur such as smoke, unusual sound or smell, or
deformation of the cabinet, immediately follow the instructions below.
Unplug the AC adaptor.
Consult your contractor for inspection and maintenance.
Caution
- Do not let water or foreign objects get into this unit. If water or foreign objects have gotten into this unit, unplug the AC

Q&A
If you have difficulties in using this unit or this unit stops working, try
the following solutions before making inquiries. When this unit still does not
function properly, consult with your contractor.
The status indicator does not light up even after the AC adaptor is
connected.
- Check if all the cables are connected correctly.
- Power is not delivered to this unit. Check if the supplied AC adaptor is connected correctly.
You want to reset this unit to the default settings.
Using an object with a fine point, press the RESET button for 5 seconds or
more to reset this unit. All the settings will be reset to the default
settings.
This unit was restarted at night time.
Software of this unit may be updated to the latest version by the automatic
system update function. After this unit is restarted, when the status
indicator is normal, you can use this unit as is.
This unit takes a long time to start up.
It will take about 3 minutes for this unit to start up. (For details on
starting up this unit, watch the instruction manual video.)
Software update may run just after this unit starts up. Software update will
take about 5 minutes including restarting of this unit.
