SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
When using electrical devices, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:

  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • This charger is intended for use with AA & AAA Nickel Metal-Hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable batteries only. Attempting to charge other types of batteries may Cause personal injury and damage to the charger.
  • Do not expose the charger to rain or moisture. For indoor use only.
  • Unplug from power source when not in use.
  • Never use an extension cord or any attachment not recommended by manufacturer; otherwise this may result in a risk of fire, electric shock or personal Injury.
  • Do not operate the charger if it has been subjected to shock or damage. lake it to a qualified serviceman for repair.
  • Do not disassemble the charger. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
  • Unplug the charger from the mains before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Before disposing of your charger, remove the batteries from the unit and dispose of them safely.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children may not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Battery Warnings

  • Batteries are not charged upon delivery.
    They must be charged prior to first use.

  • Charge only Ni-MH rechargeable batteries in this charger.

  • Batteries may leak or explode causing personal injury if inserted improperly, disposed of in fire, mixed with other battery types or short-circuited.

Intended use

  • This charger is designed to recharge AA & AAA Nickel Metal-Hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable batteries only. The built-in high-efficiency switching mode power transformer adjusts automatically to any voltage between 100-240 V~, for intenational use.
  • This product is intended for household use only. It is not intended for commercial use.
  • This product is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.
  • No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.

Before First Use

  • Check for transport damages.
    DANGER Risk of suffocation! Keep any packaging materials away from children — these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

Charging Instructions

  1. Insert 1 to 4 AA/AAA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries into the battery compartment.

  2. Always insert batteries correctly with regard to the polarities (+ and —) marked on the battery and the battery compartment.

  3. Plug the charger into a standard mains outlet (100-240 V~). When using overseas, a proper plug adaptor may be required (not supplied). “CHARGE” is displayed to indicate proper charging operation.

  4. After charging is completed, “READY” is displayed to indicate that the batteries are ready for use.

Bad Cell Detection

When charging begins, the charger will detect the health status of each cell in the battery compartment. If any cells are found to be not suitable for charging (i.e. cells may be too old, soiled, short-circuited or are of alkaline type), the warning “BAD” is displayed and the battery icon flashes.
In this case, check the batteries & battery contact and re-insert the batteries into the charger. If the ‘BAD’ icon appears again, the batteries are not suitable for charging.
Replace them with new rechargeable Ni-MH batteries.

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING Risk of electric shock! Unplug the product before cleaning.
WARNING Risk of electric shock! During cleaning, do not immerse the electrical parts of the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.

Cleaning

  • To clean, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
  • Dry the product after cleaning.
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive sources, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.

Maintenance

  • Store in a cool and dry place away from children and pets, ideally in original packaging.
  • Avoid any vibrations and shocks.

Disposal

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and by reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill.
