  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Never use the appliance without the dust container and filters installed. This could damage the motor and shorten the appliance’s lifespan.

  • Do not vacuum up any water, liquid or damp dirt.
  • Do not vacuum up any inflammable or combustible liquids or gases and do not vacuum in areas where such substances are stored.
  • Keep body parts and clothing away from any openings or moving parts of the appliance.
  • Switch off the appliance before attaching, removing and cleaning the accessories.
  • Use only authorized accessories and replacement parts.
  • Use extra care when vacuuming on stairs.

Before First Use

Operation

Vacuum accessories function

Extension stick (A)

|

  • Suitable for floor cleaning and hard-to-reach areas.
  • It is not recommended to use the extension stick (A) for cleaning carpeted stairs, upholstery or car seats.

Crevice tool (H)

|

  • Suitable for cleaning in folds, crevices or corners.
  • Suitable for hard-to-reach areas, such as behind furniture and between and under car seats.

Swivel brush (I)

  • Suitable for all normal cleaning of hard flooring and low pile carpets.
  • The adjustable swivel neck allows for adjustment to vacuum in different directions and at different angles.
  • When using the swivel brush (I), do not use it at head height.
Attaching vacuum accessories

This appliance can be used without the extension stick (A) as a hand-held vacuum cleaner.

Attach the crevice tool (H) or swivel brush (I) to the suction opening of the dust container (G).

To use the appliance as an upright vacuum cleaner, attach the extension stick (A) to the motor unit (E) (Fig. 2). Press the extension stick release button (L) and pull to detach the extension stick (A) from the motor unit (E).

Switching on/off

CAUTION Do not operate the appliance without the desired vacuum accessory (H/ I), the HEPA filter (F) and motor filter (D) properly installed.

  1. To switch the appliance on, set the on/off switch (K) to I position.
  2. After use, set the on/off switch (K) to O position to switch the appliance off.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Risk of electric shock!

  • To prevent electric shock, unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  • During cleaning do not immerse the motor unit (E) of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.
Cleaning
  • To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning.
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the appliance.

Cleaning the dust container

Empty the dust container (G) when it is 1/3 full.

  1. Press the dust container release button (J) to detach the dust container (G) from the motor unit (E).
    Take the HEPA filter (F) out (Fig. 3).

  2. Dispose of the contents in the dust container (G). Refit the dust container (G) with the HEPA filter (F) to the motor unit (E).

  3. Clean the dust container (G) using water and mild detergent.

  4. Dry the dust container (G) thoroughly.

  5. Install the HEPA filter (F) before refitting the dust container (G) to the motor unit (E).

Cleaning the filters

  1. Press the dust container release button (J) and detach the dust container (G) from the motor unit (E).

  2. Take the HEPA filter (F) out of the dust container (G).

  3. Slide the motor filter (D) out of the motor air inlet.

  4. Tap on the HEPA filter (F) and motor filter (D) to remove debris. Use a soft brush for stubborn dirt caught between the pleats of the HEPA filter (F).

  5. Rinse the motor filter (D) and HEPA filter (F) with cold water. Leave it to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours.
    Replace the motor filter (D) when it is heavily soiled. Clogged filter can reduce the appliance’s airflow and cause the motor to overheat.
    The HEPA filter (F) is using the material consisting of tightly woven fibers. Intensive rinsing or brushing can reduce its effectiveness. Replace a new one when necessary.

  6. Install the motor filter (D) and HEPA filter (F) back in place.

Storage
  • Clip the crevice tool holder (B) on the extension stick (A) for storing the crevice tool (H) (Fig. 5).
  • Wind the supply cord (C) onto the supply cord holder (N). Secure its power plug on the plug holder (M).
  • Store the appliance in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
Replacement parts
  • Use only authorized accessories and replacement parts.
  • Replacement parts can be requested from Amazon customer service. Go to “Orders” -> find the order with this product-> click “Get product support” -> click “Call me”. Then, follow the on-screen instructions.

Plug fuse replacement (for UK only)
  • Use a flat screwdriver to open the fuse compartment cover.
  • Remove the fuse and replace with the same type (13 A, BS 1363l. Refit the cover.
