VICAM 176005226 Vertu Touch Procedure for Feed Instructions

To calibrate the Vertu TOUCH reader:
▶ Scan the DON-V (J)1 or DON-V (K)2 barcode for the Lot# of strips being used. [Barcode remains stored in Vertu TOUCH reader for future use until expiry]. -
▶ Weigh 5 g ± 0.1 g finely ground sample into Vertu PREP tube.
▶ Add 30 mL of purified water to Vertu PREP tube.
▶ Close the lid, shake briefly to suspend all sample into liquid. -
▶ Set Vertu PREP mixer timer for 90 seconds. Push down and twist to lock in place; the mixer will start and stop automatically.
▶ Filter the extract into a V-Filter with cup for no more than 5 minutes. -
Barcode J:
▶ Mix 200 µL of water + 100 µL of extract in a strip test vial; then transfer 100 µL to a NEW strip test vial.
▶ Add 200 µL ONE Diluent into the new strip test vial, cover and mix well by shaking 3 times.
Barcode K:
▶ Mix 1 mL of water + 100 µL of extract in a strip test vial; then transfer 100 µL to a NEW strip test vial.

▶ Transfer 100 µL of extract from step 4 to the DON-V strip by dropping (~1 drop/second) vertically into the sample well.
▶ Allow the strip to develop for exactly 5 minutes on a flat surface. -
While strip test develops, enter the sample ID into Vertu TOUCH reader.
▶ Fully insert the DON-V strip into the Vertu TOUCH (the round opening in first)
▶ Press [Start Measurement] key on touch screen after exactly 5 minutes incubation. -
▶ Press [Print] to print the result.
▶ Press [Same Barcode] to run the next test using the same lot of strips.
▶ Press [Change Barcode] to change the method or lot of strips being used.
