Product Information: VertuTM TOUCH
The VertuTM TOUCH is a reader device designed for testing raw
and whole milk using strip tests. It comes with a touch screen
interface and various features to ensure accurate and efficient
testing.
The device is compatible with the Afla M1-V strip test, which is
used to detect certain contaminants in milk samples. It requires
consumable kits that can be reordered using the provided reorder
number: 176004148.
Product Usage Instructions

To calibrate the Vertu TOUCH reader:
-
Scan the Afla M1-V (A) barcode for the Lot# of strips being
used. -
The barcode remains stored in Vertu TOUCH reader for future use
until expiry.

Vortex strip test vial 3 times for 5 seconds each, leaving cap
open. -
Scan the barcode to download the Strip Test Reference
Guide. -
While the strip test develops, enter the sample ID into Vertu
TOUCH reader. -
Insert the developed Afla M1-V strip into the Vertu TOUCH M1
drawer (test lines facing up) and close the drawer. -
Press the [Start Measurement] key on the touch screen to take a
reading. -
To print the result, press [Print].

To run the next test using the same lot of strips, press [Same
Barcode]. -
To change the method or lot of strips being used, press [Change
Barcode].
How to use strip test pipettor:

Squeeze the top bulb of the pipettor.

Draw up enough liquid to fill the barrel of the pipettor and
have one or two drops of liquid spill over into the lower bulb,
completely filling the barrel with liquid. -
Squeeze the upper bulb to dispense all of the liquid from the
barrel only. There should be liquid left in the lower bulb.

VertuTM TOUCH Procedure for Raw and Whole Milk
Consumable kit reorder number: 176004148
· Preset the incubator at 40 °C.
· Warm up the strips to room temperature 2025 °C (6877 °F) for 20 minutes or longer before using.
· Do not open the strip tube and the conjugate pad pouch until ready to use. Keep the strip tube closed at all times.
1 To calibrate the Vertu TOUCH reader:
Scan the Afla M1-V (A) barcode for the Lot# of strips being used.
[Barcode remains stored in Vertu TOUCH reader for future use until expiry.]
4 Place the vial into the 40 °C incubator, insert Afla-M1 strip into the vial and incubate for exactly 10 minutes.
2 Pipette 200 µL of cold milk sample (refrigerated or on ice) to Afla M1-V
strip test vial containing conjugate pad using a strip test pipettor.*
3 Vortex strip test vial 3 times
for 5 seconds each, leaving cap open.
Strip and conjugate pad vial must be stored at 28 °C (3646 °F) Range: 0750

5 While strip test develops, enter the sample ID into Vertu TOUCH reader.

Procedure for Raw and Whole Milk
Consumable kit reorder number: 176004148
· Warm up the strips to room temperature 2025 °C (6877 °F) for 20 minutes or
longer before using. · Do not open the strip tube and the conjugate pad pouch
until ready to use. Keep the strip tube closed at all times.
1 Turn on the power for the incubator and pre-set the temperature to 40 °C.
Calibrate the Vertu reader by scanning in the Afla M1-V barcode for milk for
the lot of strips being used.
2 Pipette 200 µL of milk sample (refrigerated or on ice) to Afla M1-V strip
test vial containing conjugate pad using a strip test pipettor.*
3 Vortex strip test vial 3 times
for 5 seconds each, leaving cap open.

5 Insert the developed Afla M1-V strip into the Vertu M1 drawer (test lines
facing up) and close drawer. Press the center button to take a reading.
6 To print the result, use the arrow keys to move the cursor to “P” and press
the center button. To run the next sample, use the arrow keys to move the
cursor to “NT” and press the center button.
