Product Information
The ELPARTS Socket is a 13-pin socket designed for use with vehicles. It has a voltage rating of 24 V and is equipped with a cut-off contact for rear fog lights.
The package includes: 1 socket 13-pin, 1 rubber seal for the socket, 1 insulating ring, 1 receptacle, 3-way, 2 blade receptacles (2.8 mm).
Product Usage Instructions

Before starting any work, disconnect the earth wire from the
battery to prevent short-circuits and ensure safety. -
Mount the 13-pin socket with rear fog light cut-off as follows:
-
Connect the wire from the rear fog light switch of the towing vehicle to the socket.

Connect the wire from the rear fog light(s) of the towing vehicle to the socket.

If necessary, extend the wire on the vehicle that comes from the rear fog light switch and leads to the rear fog light(s) in the boot to reach the trailer socket.

Strip the end of the wire leading to the rear fog light(s) and the wire jumper or wire end coming from the rear fog light switch by 4 mm and crimp the provided blade receptacles.

Strip all other wire ends by 7 mm and tinplate them.

Push the rubber seal onto the connection wires, ensuring it sits on the insulating sleeve.

Push out the contact insert from the socket and loosen thecontact screws for the relevant functions in the contact insert.

Connect the socket with the tin-plated wire ends as follows, making sure each wire is inserted completely in the contact hole:
* Contact 1: Connect the wire from the rear fog light switch of the towing vehicle.
* Contact 2: Not occupied.
* Contact 3: Connect the wire to the rear fog light(s) of the towing vehicle.
* Contact 4: Not occupied.
9. Push the provided insulating ring over the wires of contacts 1 to 4, position them on the contact insert, and press down until they engage.
10. Insert the two remaining wire ends with the crimped blade receptacles into chambers 1 and 3 of the 3-way receptacle provided and lock in place.
11. Press the contact insert back into the socket housing and position the 3-way receptacle on the microswitch in the socket housing.
12. Push the rubber seal onto the socket and screw the socket onto the retaining plate with screws and nuts.
- Reconnect the earth wire to the battery and perform a functional check to ensure all functions are working properly.

Fitting Instructions

Disconnect the earth wire from the battery
To prevent short-circuits during installation and for safety reasons, the earth wire must always be disconnected from the battery before starting work (risk of fire)! -
Mount the 13-pin socket with rear fog light cut-off The following wires are required for connecting the rear fog light cut-off:
-
The wire from the rear fog light switch of the towing vehicle.

The wire to the rear fog light(s) of the towing vehicle.
To get the two connection wires mentioned above, the wire on the vehicle that comes from the rear fog light switch and leads to the rear fog light(s) should be disconnected in the boot and extended to the trailer socket! -
A wire jumper, 50 mm long, conductor cross-section 1.0 mm².
A second wire can also be installed for the wire jumper from the rear fog light switch of the towing vehicle! -
Strip the end of the wire leading to the rear fog light(s) of the towing vehicle and an end of the wire jumper or wire end coming from the rear fog light switch by 4 mm and crimp the blade receptacles provided.

Strip all other wire ends by 7 mm and tinplate them.

Push the accompanying rubber seal for the socket onto the connection wires.

(If necessary, cut off the rubber end piece with the smallest diameter on the wire outlet side of the seal beforehand!)
Push out the contact insert from the socket. -
Loosen the contact screws for the relevant functions in the contact insert. Connect the socket with the tin-plated wire ends as follows (ensure that each wire is inserted completely in the contact hole!):

Push the insulating ring provided over the wires of contacts 1 to 4, position them on the contact insert and press down until they tangibly engage.

Insert the two remaining wire ends with the crimped blade receptacles into the outer chambers of the 3-way receptacle provided (chambers 1 and 3, chamber 2 is not occupied) and lock in place.

Press the contact insert into the socket housing again and position the 3-way receptacle on the microswitch in the socket housing.

Push the rubber seal onto the socket and screw the socket onto the retaining plate with screws and nuts.
Warning! -
When assembling the socket, take particular care that the connection wires of the 3-pin receptacle (green) are not trapped and damaged!

The seal on the wire outlet from the socket must sit on the insulating sleeve and not just on the individual wires!

Functional check
Connect the earth wire to the battery again and check all functions.
ALLOCATION PLAN
similar to ISO 11446
13-pin, 24 Volt
- The number plate lighting must be connected so that no lamp from this lighting is connected with the two contacts 2 and 6.
- The contact is often used for other functions today.
- Contacts 11 and 12 are only connected in an ADR system.
