Removal

1. Remove rider seat.
2. Remove the four bolts securing seat latch bracket and set aside to access rear fender nuts.
3. Locate and disconnect license plate light and rear turn signal connectors.
4. While securely supporting the stock fender assembly, remove the four fender nuts and carefully remove the stock fender assembly making sure not to damage connectors.
5. Remove left and right turn signals from the stock fender assembly.
6. Cut the stock license plate light connector wires on the stock fender assembly side. Be sure to cut at least a 6” section of wire from the connector.
7. Remove key cover assembly by removing the circlip and pin from the fender assembly.
   Note: Key cover, pin, spring, and circlip will be re-used with the Yoshimura system.

Installation

1. Install key cover, pin, spring, and circlip onto 13961-FEBKT-1, key cover bracket.
   Note: The long end of the spring will be installed into the hole on 13961-FEBKT, fender bracket.

2. Place 13961-FEBKT-1, key cover bracket under 13961-FEBKT, fender bracket. Using a small flathead screwdriver, pull the long side of the spring up and slide the key cover bracket so it catches the edge of the fender bracket as shown.

3. Slide 13961-FEBKT-1, key cover bracket along the bottom of the fender bracket until the spring end goes into the hole.
   Note : Key cover must be firmly pushed up against the bottom of the fender bracket or the spring tension will unwind and the previous step will need to be repeated.
   Note : Trim excess spring end using wire cutters or pliers from the top leaving 1mm of the spring exposed above the hole. If left long, the spring end will push up against the plastic inner tray during installation and may impact installation negatively.

4. While keeping the 13961-FEBKT, fender bracket and 13961-FEBKT-1, key cover bracket pinched together, install onto subframe using M6X20BHS, 6mm screws, taillight bracket, taillight, and M6X1HN, 6mm temporary flange nut. Hand tight flange nuts to ensure key cover tension spring does not unwind.

5. Align the two forward fender mount holes and secure using M6X20BHS, 6mm screws and the stock fender locknuts.

6. Replace the M6X1HN, 6mm temporary flange nuts with the stock fender locknuts one at a time making sure the tension spring does not come out of the hole. Torque the four stock locknuts to factory specifications.

7. Install 070BG-LH-K1, license plate light onto 070BG-UNV-FEBKT, license plate bracket using M4X6BHS, 4mm screws.

8. Using the BN-SSS-22-18, solder shrink connectors provided in the kit, connect the Yoshimura license plate light wires to the stock license plate light wires as follows:
   Green w/ Red Stripe -to- Red Wire
   Black Wire -to- Black Wire
   a) Strip the stock fender light wire ends 1/4” – 1/2” and insert into BN- SSS-22-18, solder shrink connectors provided in the kit.
   b) Center the spliced wire ends in the middle and using a heatgun or lighter, apply heat evenly on the outer edges of the solder shrink connector to shrink and hold wires in place.
   c) Making sure that the stripped ends are centered, heat the center of the solder shrink connector evenly until the solder begins to liquify.
   d) Allow to cool completely and tug both ends of the wires to verify that connection is secured.

9. Install 070BG-UNV-FEBKT, license plate bracket onto 13961-FEBKT, fender bracket using M6X10BHS, 6mm screws.

10. Install left and right turn signals onto turn signal brackets.

11. Install 070BG-LPF, license plate, 13992-TSBL/R, turn signal brackets to 070BG-UNVFEBKT, license plate bracket using M6X16BHS & M6X14BHS, 6mm screws, 6MMWASHER, 6mm washers, and 6MMLN, 6mm nylon locknuts as shown.

12. Route license plate light and turn signal wires through hole in bracket and re-connect connectors.

13. Re-install seat latch bracket and rider seat.

14. Check for proper function of license plate light, turn signals, brake light, and that all brackets and components are secure prior to riding.
